2 - Drink?
Seth
Pain rushed through my arms as I carried another box up the stairs. Finally with the help of Roman, my only and best friend, we unpacked all of our belongings into some flat near our new uni. All the uni accommodation was already full but we had enough money to rent a flat so we're okay. Roman doesn't mind how many times he's had to transfer school for me, ever since we were sixteen we moved in together and since then we've been moving all over America, but now we've landed ourselves a place in Iowa and we've both been accepted into the university of Iowa, majoring in English and History.
I head up to my new room, when we viewed this flat I knew I wanted this room to be mine; it's got pastel pink walls with pretty flowers scattered across it, the carpet is a blush pink and it's unbearably soft. It's the perfect room for me and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I delicately placed down my box onto the carpet, before falling down alongside it carefully. I slowly tore the cello tape off the top of the box, revealing all my special items tightly packed away. I withdrew a family photo...well I say a family photo, it's just me and my brother. My parents must've been fighting while we were trying to take this picture or they would've been in it too. Wiping the dust that has somehow managed to get on it, I place it down on my bedside table with a smile on my face. I've always loved my brother and he's the thing I miss most about home.
I go to remove my fairy lights from the box when Roman walked into my room, big friendly smile on his face. "I really feel like this will be the place, y'know?" I sighed, leaning back against the carpet and staring at the pretty patterns on the ceiling. "Maybe...looks good from the outside. Just hope the university's nice." A mischievous grin appeared on Roman's face as he laid alongside me. "Actually, when I was moving in boxes today I bumped into some pretty blonde. She asked me if I was new and then she invited me...well I mean us to her friends party." I groaned, forcing myself to sit up. "You know parties aren't my scene, especially after everything." Roman frowned, a pout appearing on his face. "Come on, just one! I'll let you put fairy lights in the kitchen?" My eyes lit up at that and Roman smiled. "Fine, I'll come."
I stood up off the carpet, immediately missing its softness on my sensitive skin. "Will you bring my box of clothes up, gonna need them if I'm coming to this party." Roman practically pounced off the floor, excitement flooding his features. "Okay! I'll be right back, parties at 5 I think?" I checked my watch and the clock face displayed '4:34' I smiled, knowing I'd have some time to pick out a pretty outfit for this party.
Roman had barely even been gone when he returned with a box in his hands, panting from all the running. "Thanks Ro, now you need to freshen up if you want to impress this girl." I winked at him and a blush covered his face. "What should I wear, first impressions are important!" He asked panicked. "That royal blue shirt and black ripped jeans, now go." He left my room with as much speed as he entered it with, hearing the faint slam of a door as he reached his room.
I turned to the cardboard box and I ripped the cello tape off, showing all my neatly folded clothes. I neatly took them out of the box before finding the outfit I was looking for, a pink button up shirt covered in flamingos and a pair of light blue 'weathered' jeans. I was just admiring how cute the outfit looked on myself in the mirror, when Roman appeared behind me giving me the fright of my life. "Jesus Ro, way to kill me before a party." I spoke with a chuckle as I placed my hand to my heart, feeling the rhythm begin to slow back down. "Sorry, you ready to go?" I smiled and nodded. "Yeah s'pose so." I don't really want to go to this party, I hate alcohol but I'm not just going to leave my best friend with a bunch of drunk strangers. "Come on then, this party isn't going to attend itself." He tugged my arm, pulling my out of my room and into the corridor.

The room was filled with drunk adults, body's touching each other as there was barely even any room to breathe in this crammed house. Seth immediately made his way to the porch, the thrum of the party already giving him a headache. He took a deep breath of cold air, letting it rush into his lungs before he made his way back into the party.

Becky
"Who's that?" I asked, not to anyone in particular as a unfamiliar boy walked through my house. "Not sure, Charlotte was talking to me about some fit boy she invited, but he doesn't exactly fit the profile." Sasha scoffed from alongside me as he walked around the room like a lost puppy. "Becks got a bet for you if you're up for it?" Sasha spoke in a very evil tone and I just rolled my eyes at her. "What is it this time? Summon the devil to have children with you?" She just glared at me as I took a swig from my beer. "I bet you can't make that boy fall in love with you by the end of the month." I shook my head. "That's a stupid bet! I don't even know the boy, could be a serial killer for all I know." She smirked and spoke in a low tone. "Never stopped you before, come on it'll be fun! Or are you scared that you won't be able to make him fall in love with you?" She spoke in a taunting tone as the boy scrambled off towards the kitchen. "Fine, I bet 100 I can." She pushed a beer into my hand as I stood up. "Good luck Becks, I'll be expecting my hundred as soon as you lose."

I made my way into the kitchen, spotting Roman snogging that blonde girl outside. I climbed up onto the counter, perching myself in the corner as I went unnoticed. I pulled out my phone and I just scrolled endlessly through Pinterest, so I didn't look as much as I feel out of place.
"Hey!" I snapped my phone off and I spotted a girl standing in-front of me, short ginger little thing but fierce, any bare skin littered in tattoos, she looked kinda scary. "Hiya..." It was quiet, but she smiled at my response. "Drink?" She offered me a beer and I shook my head. "Don't drink, sorry." She placed the beer down on the counter, hopping up to sit alongside me. "I'm Becky." Her tone was soft, unlike what I thought it might be like, from her appearance I thought she'd be tough and rude, I try not to judge people but sometimes I can't help it. "I'm Seth."
"Nice to meet you Seth, love the shirt by the way. Always wanted to get something pretty like a flamingo tattooed on me..."
"Really? You should, I've always wanted a tattoo of a butterfly, rainbow and all pretty...it would be perfect." I couldn't help but let the big grin creep onto my face as I thought of the tattoo I've sketched out so many times in my head. "I run a tattoo parlour with my friend Dean when I'm not in uni, you should come sometime and get it done." I wanted to hug the girl as I thought of my perfect tattoo finally getting done, I've had tattoos before but I've never really trusted the tattoo artist enough to get it right so I've never asked for the butterfly. "You sure you don't want that beer?" Becky cut me from my thoughts and without thinking I took it from her hands and I took a swig, letting the horrid taste of alcohol flood down my throat along with the horrifying memories. "I'm really sorry, nice talking to you but I've really got to get home...need to uh- sleep..." I ran out of the kitchen and through the house, letting the now freezing air hit me as I ran outside. My mind racing as I struggled to breathe, I need to get home back to all my things, back to the safety of my own home...or flat.
I never should've come, parties have never been something I enjoyed and now I've probably upset that nice girl with my outburst, damn it.
