Chapter 51
The Bet
Clarke didn't really know how to take the text from Alicia. After working together for a few weeks they had grown closer. Clarke thought it was cool learning about who she was as an artist and as a friend. She sent a simple "On my way boss." And left it at that.
Clarke let her window as they pulled up to the house. "Dayum..." She said.
"Have fun Ms. Dubious. I"ll be waiting right out here. Ms. Jackson programmed my number to your speed dial 1. Call me if you need me." Clarke glanced in the rear view mirror at him. He laughed. "That woman loves you Clarke."
"I know Pres." Clarke said opening the car door. "Thanks, I'll try not to be all night man."
Alicia's house was incredible. Clarke could hear the music playing loudly as she walked up to the front door. She was greeted by a doorman and she walked inside.
She couldn't remember the last time she had been to a party but she had never seen this many people packed into one house in a very long time. She looked around for a moment, spotting a few familiar faces from the crew. Alicia was standing by the fire place talking to a woman with short blonde hair. Their body language was very touchy and flirty. A photographer approached them and asked if he could take a picture.
"Brylee?" Clarke said as she walking up to them. Brylee glanced at Clarke and smiled.
She smile. "It feels like it's been forever hot shot."
"Yeah." Clarke responded turning to address Alicia. "We both worked on my girlfriend's tour together."
"I knew you worked together. How do you think I found out about you? Brylee here is working on my new album with me. She told me about you." Alicia glanced at Brylee and then back at Clarke. "She didn't tell me that the rumors were true though... Janet... Ms. Jackson if you nasty got ahold of you first."
Clarke smiled proudly, "Yup, that's bae." She answered. "And please don't ever say that around her. It gets on her nerves."
Alicia shook her head and sized Clarke up. "Damn... That's too bad." She glanced at Brylee and took Clarke by the hand. "C'mon I want you to meet some of my people."
The first person Clarke noticed was Mya. She didn't hesitated to approach her. "Wow I'm a huge fan." She said and asked for a picture.
"God you're fucking cute." Mya said, kissed Clarke on the cheek and joined her friends in a near by corner.
Clarke glanced at Alicia. "That was so fucking cool!" She said as Alicia continued guiding through the crowd of people. As Clarke looked around. She started to notice all of the drugs in the room. It was hard to miss as they made their way to the kitchen. A guy approached them with a small rectangular glass. Lines of cocaine covered it. Alicia smiled.
"There's the party right there. My pretty lady friend can go first." She said glancing at Brylee and to Clarke's surprise, Brylee smiled and snorted the first line. She fiddled with her nose for a moment and handed it to Alicia who did the same. Clarke glanced around the room again. She saw more people doing it than not. Someone called out Alicia's name. She looked at Brylee with a smile, kissed her softly and excused herself from the room. Clarke waited until she was gone to address Brylee.
"Bry what are you doing fucking with this shit? You're too good for this." She said. Brylee rolled her eyes.
"What are talking about Clarke?" She asked and poured herself a shot of liquor.
"I'm talking about the coke. You tell me all these things about your mom and now you're doing it?"
"I am my mother's child." Brylee said holding up her shot glass as if to toast, before throwing it back fast.
"You're nothing like her Brylee." Clarke said. "You know that."
"Clarke it's a party. People do drugs at parties. It's the only time I do stuff like this. It's like a real world detox."
As Brylee talked, Clarke noticed a small pitcher of water and ice sitting on the counter next to the bottles of liquor. She grabbed a cup and poured some. She was already half way through the cup before Brylee even noticed.
"Clarke! Are you drinking from that pitcher?" Brylee pointed.
"Yeah, I was thirsty. This water taste a little funny though." She said after gulping down the rest.
"Clarke that is mixed with MDMA."
"What is that?" Clarke asked sitting the cup down.
"The drug molly. You can snort it, mix it with water or take it in pill form."
"Wtf??" Why would they have that just sitting out? Brylee what the fuck is gonna happen to me?"
"It's just a party drug Clarke, like the pure form of speed. It makes you want to dance and fuck." She continued. "It's harmless unless you over do it and you only had a small cup." Brylee was clearly already being effected by the coke. "Just relax, it's not like cocaine, but it does take longer to wear off."
"How long?"
"The last time I was up for over 24 hours but I had way more than you." Clarke was starting to freak out. She paced back and forth in the kitchen.
"Oh my god. Oh my god. She told me to be careful. How could I be so stupid? Fuck I think I feel it already." Clarke said putting her hand to her chest. Brylee knew how quick Clarke could go into a panic attack. She needed to calm now before the drug actually started to take affect.
"Look, relax Clarke. It takes at least 15 minutes to hit you. I'll take care of you okay. I promise. I will stay with you. C'mon. I'll get you some real water and gum. You're going to need it." Brylee took Clarke by the hand and lead her back into living room to join the party. She pulled her to the dance floor.
"Brylee what are you doing?"
"I'm gonna help you have an amazing fucking first roll. It's going to be fun. Just relax and come dance with me." She said as Alicia danced towards them.
Clarke looked around. The lights were dim, there was good music playing and everyone was having a good time. She looked back at Brylee and Alicia dancing in front of her, smiling at her. The music felt like it was in her. Her body was thumbing almost like the beat was pumping through her veins. Both woman took one of her hands and pulled her close. Brylee in front and Alicia behind her. Brylee smiled. "Dance with us." Clarke smiled and laughed.
The molly started to hit her in waves as she danced between the to woman. The strobe and rainbow lights caught her attention in every direction. Clarke stood back for a moment watching Brylee and Alicia closely. Brylee pushed her hips into Alicia's, her hands on her bare stomach as they rocked to the music. Alicia laid her head back against Brylee's shoulder allowing Brylee to kiss her neck. Clarke could feel her heart beating extremely fast. She held her chest and took a deep breath. Brylee noticed and stopped dancing. She walked up to Clarke, standing close to her.
"You're just feeling and it's a good feeling. Just ride the waves." Brylee touched Clarke's hand. The contact sent chill through Clarke's body. The drug heightened all of her senses. She felt a familiar aching feeling between her legs.
Alicia joined Brylee next to Clarke. "I have a perfect fucking idea. She just needs to energy in the room be a little more calm than this. Let's go up to my room. I have the softest fucking blanket it the world! It's amazing when you're rolling." She said with a smile.
Brylee held out her hand. "C'mon."
"Will it help my heart stop beating so fast?" Clarke asked as she swayed a little back and forth. She couldn't be still.
"Yeah, we got you babe." Alicia said.
