Unforgettable

Dani Whittaker was a stripper who one day had the fatefully unfortunate luck of meeting a Winchester. One thing lead to anther, and nine months later she had given birth to a baby girl. The name was unoriginal and was distastefully spat at a nurse holding a clipboard. "And what would you like to name this darling?"

Dani looked down at the infant in her arms with disgust, a mixture of frustration and pure anger bubbling from within as she thought of a name. She glanced at a pamphlet by her bedside bearing the hospital's name. Phoenix General Hospital, it read. Dani looked back at the nurse with a sarcastic smirk. "How about Phoenix?" The nurse's smile lapsed but quickly recovered as she plastered on a look of fake pride.

"Great name!" She said as she scurried down the hall. Dani Never wanted a baby, especially since she couldn't trace the father. She silently cursed herself as counted back nine months to the father. The day was November 9th, meaning that the baby could've been conceived anywhere in February. A slow, sly smile appeared as Dani remembered her date on Valentines day, tall, handsome man named Sam Winchester. Remembering how much fun she had that night, she started to laugh a bit before thinking back to her current predicament. She certainly couldn't keep this baby, but she didn't want to leave her in foster care. Despite caring very little for the baby in her arms, Dani had enough sense to try to avoid sending the baby to foster care, remembering her own childhood in the system. Somehow, she was going to find the father.

Four months later, Dani had completely given up. She was out of work and a home and she knew one person who would take her in, but not with a child. Sitting in her car, she ripped an old pamphlet in half, turning it on the blank side to write a note. Hola, Sam. It's been a short little forever since we've talked, but it's never too late to start."  Dani put the pen down before tearing up. Either this was going to work, or she was going to be jailed for child abandonment. Sammy, I'm in trouble. I've got one place to stay and I can't take this baby with me. Her name's Phoenix. I feel like a whore, doing this, but hey, since when do morals matter?  She snorted at her own comment before elaborating. I'm damn near 90 percent this girl is yours. You can check her birth certificate and see that the timing matches up. Dani took the paper out and clipped it to the note. I don't expect you to want this kid or even know what to do with it, but here she is. Good luck, - Dani

Dani got out of the car and unfastened the car seat Phoenix sat in. She taped the note onto her sleeping baby, thankful that the march air wasn't too chilly as she set the car seat on the stoop of a motel room. As she slipped into the car, she did a small wave in memoriam to her daughter before driving and never looking back.

A few minutes later, Sam had walked back to the room, a six pack of beer in hand, prepared to open the door before he noticed a small baby blocking his path. Immediately, he picked up the car seat and feverishly knocked on the door for Dean to help him. Confused, Dean opened the door to find his brother carrying a baby. As Sam sat and read the note, emotions ran rampant. stress and fear squeezed his gut before causing him to throw up. Hyperventilating, Sam kneeled over the waste bin. His heart wouldn't slow down and he couldn't focus on the world around him. His vision went blurry and it wasn't long before Sam fainted. Dean quickly hauled his brother up onto the bed before reading the note for himself. His heart sank and he slowly back up to a wall before sliding down to sit on the carpet. Pulling his face out from his hands, Dean glanced up at the baby. Without question, that was his brother's baby.

Pain ripped through Sam as he regained consciousness. No matter how many times he tried to take his mind off of what was going on in order to calm himself down, he couldn't.

Phoenix was his.
