Summary: Kian Alastair. Captain of one of the most powerful ships in the Nebula Space Fleet. From all the places in the galaxy, he finds himself in a slavery port where hybrid humans (half human/half alien) are sold and killed like it means nothing. Here he encounters someone who he feels he has to take out of there and introduces him to his fleet.

Review : The Space Between is a Sci-Fi boyxboy story, which is interesting to find in non-romance category like Sci-Fi.

The story is based in a future where human hybrids are treated as if they are nothing, sold into slavery and what not. The hero, as always, has a different mindset about the situation and the other protagonist, who is a human hybrid, is definitely lanky, but is not at all fragile(Bella Swan reference here, because, honestly, how much can a human trip and be helpless). He knows what he is and unlike most stories, where the overpowered creatures are mostly just rescued and are made to love because of their helplessness, the hybrid, is nothing like that. He knows the society treats him like trash, but he doesn't fail to put up a fight, he doesn't fail to become more than what he is thought to be. Something that Jonathan Dollimore would call subversion through transgression.

This is the very reason I suppose the story is ought to be read, aside from its unique plot and obviously the continuous humor and the sass filled comments. The action is so intense that sometimes you can feel your heart beating out of your chest. Even after including the romance, the author has made it perfectly balance with the action and adventure the story contains. One of the best written page turners I've come across, it has a few moments of extreme vulnerability as well, which the protagonist wittily tries to overcome.

The best choice that the author made would be making the hybrid not a helpless creature but one who cries freedom. He deserves getting saved by Kian and getting a home, because he fought for it, in a world where everyone else was silent. Also, the supporting characters took forward the mood of the story. Most of the time it is the blossoming romance when are the two characters are left alone, so it is nice to see that the other characters take the actions forward.

The author has, without a doubt a mind blowing plot with them, which they have articulated really well with their words. There are a few typos here and there but they can really be neglected in comparison to the immense emotions and action going around. The story is definitely a page turner and I am waiting on the edge of my seat for the next update ;)
