Summary: In a society where human reproduction is illegal, a little boy that was never meant to be born makes friends with the first truly human-like AI created. The child's innocent friendship will have far-reaching consequences for the boy and his family as well as for the world.

Review : The society that carpe-di3m created was fascinating! I wish that it had expanded past just a short story. It would have made a fantastic book. I grew very attached to the characters, and the writing style was beautiful.

I think carpe-di3m raises a good moral point. What happens if our society gets to the stage where it is run not by humans and emotions, but pure analytical technology?

The excellent world-building in the background chapter takes you right to the heart of the dilemma in this really moving story so skilfully told.
