A few days later, Hunter came back into the Coven Leader's room. Raine was with them again since 2 days. Hunter didn't know what had happened to them, but they were calmer than usual. Hunter couldn't remember hearing a single word come out of their mouth...

The boy sat down and looked calmly at the others, a question burning on his tongue that he had already asked Belos. The Plant Coven leader looked at him and smiled at him encouragingly. "What happened?" Immediately the eyes of the others were also on him, which is why he smiled almost nervously. "Well...I wanted to ask..." he started and hesitated. The construction leader gave him an encouraging nod and hunter continued, "What are flapjacks...?" The others were a bit surprised by the boy's question.

"Flapjacks?" Darius asked. The blond nodded. "They're kind of like pancakes," the illusion leader said, shrugging. Hunter sighed. "Belos already said that." "Wait, you asked Belos what flapjacks are?" the Poison leader asked, to which the boy nodded. "Wow you're brave to ask him that." Darius laughed.

"But then why are you asking us if he answered?" the Oracle leader asked, puzzled. "It doesn't matter that much..." Hunter mumbled and looked away, he just had to ask someone else he decided.
"Okay..." the illusion leader said again. That's when the Plant Coven leader started giggling, which made everyone look at her. "Sometimes you're like a little kid, you don't know what pancakes are, do you?", she then smiled encouragingly and friendly at Hunter.

The other Coven Heads looked at him in surprise. "There are more and more things on the list, we should leave it without explanation." Darius grinned even though nobody except Hunter understood what he meant by the list.

The blond had turned a little bit red, but he didn't know whose statement he should react more to, so he just continued to avoid eyecontact. "You're mean Darius," said the Poiton leader, also with a light laugh. "Maybe." "But shouldn't he know?" the Construction leader asked. "Don't worry, I'll explain it to him." Darius then said with a smile, even if Hunter doubted the truth of this statement.

"How do you even come up with flapjacks?" the Oracle leader then asked. Hunter got nervous and stroked his forearm, which of course the others noticed. "It's okay, you don't have to answer.", the Healing leader said and the boy nodded as a thanks. If they had been like Belos, it would not have been easy for him to get off the subject now.

Almost all of the Coven Heads smiled at him, only Raine looked into nothing and said nothing. Hunter wondered why nobody responded to them, he decided to ask Raine later what's going on.. after all, the Coven Heads were always there for him now too. They all talked a little longer until a few coven heads left the room, when Raine left, Hunter jumped up and hurriedly ran after them without saying goodbye to the others.

The Plant Coven leader looked at him worriedly. "He doesn't know, does he?", she asked Darius, who shook his head and finally got up to follow Hunter and Raine.

Hunter had meanwhile caught up with the Bard Coven leader. "Wait!" the younger one shouted but the cyan haired one didn't react. The boy quickly overtook the older one and blocked their path, which actually tempted Raine to stop. "What's the matter with you?" Hunter asked, looking up at them questioningly. Raine looked into his eyes and was silent for a moment before gently pushing Hunter aside and walking past him. Hunter stopped questioning and looked confused after them.

This was the moment when Darius also arrived and only saw how Raine left the corridor they were on and a Hunter looking after him. "Never mind, they are not really themself right now." "But why not?" the boy asked a little worried, looking over at the Abomination leader. Darius shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, they will probably talk about it later," he lied. Since Hunter didn't know anything about the thing with Raine and the Bats, he just nodded silently.

"You wanted to know what pancakes are, right?" Darius asked and looked down at the boy. He nodded: "Well actually what flapjacks are but since pancakes are similar it probably counts too." Darius nodded a little thoughtfully. "Come with me Pest.", he said and started walking. Hunter rolled his eyes a bit at the nickname, even if he smiled gently... just like in the old days... but despite the nickname, Hunter followed him in amazement and wondered where Darius was taking him.

When they got to the castle kitchen, Hunter looked around confused, thinking that pancakes were some kind of ancient artifact of hellfire and pain or something, but he questioned this again after his little secret experiment. "What are we doing here?" the younger one looked around. "You really have no idea about pancakes..." Darius said, sounding a bit desperate.

"Okay Golden Guard listen to me carefully.", the older one turned to him and more or less grabbed his shoulders. "This will never happen again, but someone has to show you what flapjacks and especially pancakes are, so we'll make some. For once. Just this one time. NEVER after that, understand?"
Hunter blinked in confusion but nodded. Did Darius want to make weapons with him?? In the kitchen??

"Okay..." he said calmly and continued to wonder while Darius took his hands off Hunter's shoulders, shaking them and washing them quickly, once a drama king always a drama king.

While Darius then fetched the ingredients needed for pancakes and flapjacks, Hunter just watched him confused, his gaze becoming more and more confused with each additional ingredient. It almost looked like pancakes and flapjacks were edible weapons. Or maybe poison?? Were they a harmless looking dish with death lurking inside???

He reconnected the name to the little palisman bird that went by the name Flapjack, which is why he even asked what that word meant. While his experiment had shown him that the palisman had no dangerous nature, after all he had eaten and even shared with him a berry known to being hate by palismen, the words of Emperor Belos still rang in his head who told him that wild magic was bad and responsible for his parents' deaths...but looking at Flapjack, he found it harder and harder to believe he harbored anything dangerous...but who knew...maybe he was just being tricked... well once he knew what flapjacks or pancakes meant he might understand it better.

"Well then, let's get started.", Darius sighed, inwardly hoping that none of his clothes would get dirty, but this time he was voluntarily willing to risk it after all, in his opinion, Golden Guard HAD to find out what pancakes were.

The boy stood at his side and looked at the ingredients in confusion. "And where is the poison? Or something else dangerous?" "Poison?? How do you get to that? Just listen and learn." Darius then said and decided not to give long explanations. Instead, he began step-by-step through the two recipes with Hunter, and they prepared two bowls.

During the making of this, he often looked at the younger boy's puzzled face, seemingly still thinking about the poison, leaving Darius only to imagine what the boy must have thought Pancakes and Flapjacks were about.

While making the dough, he noticed that Golden Guard had real problems. Although he was really a good help, Darius also noticed easily that he clearly touched far too little in the kitchen. He often saw the boy clumsily weigh the ingredients, but he quickly got into the process and went on without a hitch.

After a while the boy seemed to be having fun too, probably he finally forgot the part about the poison in his head. When they then put the flapjacks dough on a baking sheet and the pancakes batter gradually into the pans, the boy smiled contentedly and even Darius had to admit that baking with the boy wasn't quite as bad as he thought after the first weigh and the first egg.

When the Flapjacks dough was finally in the oven and Darius was making one pancakes after the other in the pan (he hadn't let Hunter get his hands on the pan, although he had asked Darius), Hunter stood calmly next to him and alternately looked into the oven and at the pan. Flapjacks and pancakes were soon ready and after they had cooled Darius gave the boy one of each.

"That's a pancake and these are flapjacks," he explained, pointing to the appropriate mark. Hunter raised an eyebrow questioningly. "But they don't look alike at all.." "Just eat them." Darius then said and watched the boy hesitantly try the pancake first. Hunter, who now knew what was inside and could therefore think that both should actually taste good and contained neither poison nor other deadly things, finally tasted one of the pancakes and widened his eyes in surprise. "Damn you pancakes!" he exclaimed in surprise. "They taste good," he then added more quietly. Darius, who was a bit surprised by the first sentence, pushed his thoughts aside and finally nodded in agreement.

After the boy had eaten the pancake he finally tried a flapjack and had to admit that these were also very tasty, even better than pancakes in his opinion. But if the little palisman was named after those things, it must mean innocence itself...but the palisman was still wild magic....

"Darius...?" Hunter mumbled thoughtfully and didn't look up at the older one. "Hm? What's up?" he asked, eyeing the younger one. "Is wild magic really that dangerous...?" The boy looked up quickly and there was a hint of panic in his eyes. "Never mind! Forget the question!" Darius raised an eyebrow questioningly, but nodded, but he wondered why the boy had suddenly come up with this question and whether it was much on his mind....

They sat at the table for a while before deciding to put the other pancakes and flapjacks in the coven leader's empty room and then parting ways.

Half an hour later the Plant Coven leader came back into the room as she forgot something and smiled when she saw the pancakes and flapjacks on the table as she could guess what the two boys had done...

So yeah for now (if you don't want the extra chapter) you have to wait till season 2 b is out~)
