We continued our way to the exit of this forest, wherein we still encounter different spirits while protecting Quon. I have no idea why Shu still consider him a friend and why we should protect him in any danger because... First of all, back at the team finals, he underestimated Valt for poor leadership...

And probably it's also my fault for spitting bad comments about him.

I focused my gaze on Quon for a long period of time. I know he can see me through his peripheral vision but it's a bit suspicious that he's not even reacting, nor asking me why I look at him that way. Probably because it's in his nature...

Or maybe he's thinking something different. If Shu didn't feel that, he's much more naive than Valt Aoi.

I turned my gaze at Shu who's just focused on the road. He probably didn't notice Quon's strange acts because all he had spinning in his head like an orbit is Valt Aoi's safety.

I ran beside Shu and snapped my fingers in front of his face, giving him a surprised and rather annoyed look,"Hey!" He groaned and glared at me before he could even calm his self down and shake his thoughts that is all probably Valt Aoi.

"You've been quiet for a while. Somethin' bothering you?"I utter, acting as if I don't know what he's thinking.

"n..no. Nothing."He sputtered, smiling at me forcibly.

"You don't have to hide that."I giggled, glancing at Quon who seems to be listening to our conversation. But I just brushed it off.

"H..hide what?"Shu started to sweat, making it more obvious that he's hiding something,"Fine! I am. I'm just worried what Jin and Zac are doing to Valt now... He's probably... D..d-"

"Don't think too much Shu! If you do, you might go cray cray."I choked right after I said that. Shu remained silent again."... And... Valt wouldn't like that... And you won't get to save him when you're crazy."

"... You're right."Shu smiled and turned his attention to the road again,"The fork's up ahead, let's go?"

"Yep!"I nodded, slowing down my pace so Shu and Quon could go first.

Quon's lips were curved into a smile, which made me shiver a bit. Why is he smiling?

We continued to walk forward until we reached the fork.

"guess we're gonna take the left route then?"Quon mumbled suddenly. This is the first time I heard him speak for an hour.

"Yep."Shu nodded, cutting the branches that are blocking the road.

The moment the branches are cut off, a dark and long road was revealed. At the end of the road was a strange and bright light. This is the first time I saw natural light for almost a day... Or dusk.

"What's that?.."Shu pointed at the light, stopping in front of me and Quon.

"That's probably the extent of the curse Jin had done. I think..."Quon's eyes widened and gulped.

"How'd ya know that?"I raised an eyebrow and stare at him.

"I... Just found something at the school I shouldn't have seen."Quon mumbled, pulling out his earphones and tucking it in his ears to avoid my lecturing.

"The extent of Jin's curse?.."Shu pulled the earphone from Quon's ear and stare at him.

He seemed to have brushed off the idea on how or why Quon knows something important about Jin.

"Y..yeah..."Quon gulped,"To be honest I know a lot so I decided to join you... I was planning to say everything I know later but... I guess right now's a good time."

"Spit it out."Shu said with a straight face. He also gave me a sidelong look as if commanding me to take Quon's bag. I guess he's not as naive as I expected.

"Every student that he killed, a spirit grants him a wish. When he killed Lui/Zero, he wished for their aide to put a curse at this school. When he killed Daigo, he wished for Ken and Rantaro to die so he's probably sure that the two of them will die... And when Ken and Rantaro died, he decided to put a curse around the city, ranging from almost 4 miles, reaching up to the park. And when... Naoki died, he wished for his self to be the only way out of this hell."Quon explained. I didn't even see the real Quon when he speak. It's as if a knowledgeable human being had possessed the body of a proud skater boy.

"Then if that's the case..."Shu pointed the knife at Quon,"You'll be our hostage"

I tried to scavenge Quon's bag until I felt a soft and cold thing inside. Its texture was smooth, like a blanket. But it smell horrible.

"Hey! D..don't!"Quon sputtered, unable to move due to Shu's threat and those deadly gazes.

I pulled this thing I found inside Quon's bag and let go of it after a split second,"Holy mother of..."

"What was that Wakiya?"Shu glanced at me and turned his gaze back at Quon.

"I somebody just gave me a hand..."I gulped. LITERALLY, someone literally gave me a hand.

"What do you mean?"Shu, still pointing the knife at Quon stepped beside me and pulled the hand from Quon's bag."Holy shnuckles. What the hell are you carrying Quon?!"

I examined the glove and noticed those familiar yellow streaks. Even though it's decayed, you can still smell the sweetness of the owner's perfume. It's Zac's.

"Why do you have Zac's hands?"I grumbled, pulling the gloves from this cold and decayed hand.

"I... Was about to take that back to the original time zone... And... Give it to authorities... So Zac's spirit will be... At peace..."Quon gulped, looking down and tucking his earphone back in his ear,"You two are scaring me. But.."

I glance at Shu who seems a bit uneasy about the authorities part. If Quon turned the hand over as a possible evidence, his fingerprints would be in it and he would be put to jail. It's still no use if we saved Valt if he'll be stuck in jail forever.

"Keep that Quon. But again, you'll be our hostage"Shu said with a straight face. Pulling Quon to his side and walking towards the light... I mean literally the light. But who knows?(No, Valt will kill me)

We slowly take a step forward, each step we take, some unnecessary noises were heard. I can feel the spirits strangling our soul to have us stay in this deadly forest... But this is just the forest...

What if we're outside?

"Quon, you said that every time Jin kills a student... He can make a wish... What will happen if he killed Valt?"I utter, choking my words and then glaring at him after a split second,"Don't think that i'm so nice because I talked to ya normally."

"That.. Was Zac's wish actually... Jin's just... Fulfilling his promise to Zac.."Quon gulped.

"Why do you know a lot?"I smirked, giving him a sidelong look.

"I'll explain later. For now, we're almost there. See?"Quon pointed at the light that was just an arm away.

"Yeah..."I squinted, slowly shutting my eyes completely as the light engulfs us.

I covered my eyes and bit my lower lip."Shu...?"

"Wakiya... I lost Quon."Shu's voice was echoing."Open your eyes Wakiya. Everything's fine."

I slowly opened my eyes, it was all blurry at first until I finally recovered my vision."Wh..where is he?"

"He probably escaped in the midst of the brightness. He's probably affiliated with Jin and Zac."Shu groaned, fixing the handkerchief that we used as his eyepatch.

"But what is he gonna do with Zac's hands?"I pondered, looking up and then walking back and forth until I just messed my hair up from thinking.

"They're planning something bad obviously... But I have no idea what..."Shu dropped his backpack on the ground and searched his bag for stuffs."you.. Might as well need an eyepatch now."

"What? Why?"I raised an eyebrow and pulled my phone from my pocket.

"O..okay."I sputtered, pulling this bandage Shu was dangling for a few seconds.

"That must be the effect of the light. It's bleeding. Oh and... Why did I use your handkerchief instead of my bandage?"Shu smirked, staring at me while I wrapped the bandage around my eye.

"Because i'm panicking okay! Do you think I will still try to search your bag for that bandage if your eye socket's exposed?!"I gulped and shake the thoughts off my head, feeling a bit twitchy,"Ugh! I don't want to flash that image in my head again!"

"Excuse me? You're blind too so stop mumbling about my eye!"Shu groaned and threw the barbecue stick with his eye skewered on it.

"Ugh Shu! Your red eye is literally red and bloody!"I tuck it in his pocket and sighed.

"I'm gonna show Jin and Zac that thing and have them taste my revenge!"Shu gave me a smirk that later turned into anger."... And if I see Quon's face again, i'll cut his head off."

"Shu.."I started,"that's not...you."

Shu paused. Turning to me, shaking his head and snapping back to his old self.,"Y...you're right."

"You have to calm down."I pulled Daigo's headband from his backpack and tied it on his head,"I think you'll need him."

"Wakiya.."Shu smiled and pulled out Ken's puppets,"We want you to be happy."Shu said, trying to imitate the cat and the dog's voice.

"Shu..."I smiled and hugged him,"Whatever happens, please don't turn into a monster like them."

"Okay."Shu smiled,"I promise... And.. We still have to fight for Valt's he- attention."Shu winked and giggled.

"Yeah yeah, I hear ya."I winked and wrapped my arms around him as we waltzed into the sunset, I mean dusk. It's almost Dawn actually... But it's still 6 pm. That Jin... I'm getting hungry but I just brushed my hunger off because why would I still think of my stomach if i'm already at the midst of death!

"So the park's around... 3 kilometers from here right? Why do we have to travel so far!"I groaned falling on my knees while staring at my surroundings.

Houses.. But there are no lights. Obviously, this is a place where only the ne'er-do-wells resides. Which is obviously not me because i'm very hardworking and responsible. I don't let my friends get tired...

"Whatever you're thinking, I know it's not true."Shu giggled,"i've been speaking for 15 seconds just to notice that you're in your zone."

"Haha.. Sorry."I chuckled and heave out a sigh."I wish... None of us will be gone of the picture.. Again.."

"Don't worry.."Shu gave me a smile and turns his attention back at the road."I'll protect all of ya."

I nodded, unable to think clearly because I feel a bit drowsy and tired."Shu... I'm sleepy."

"Do you wanna rest first before we fight Jin?"Shu gave me a smile and stopped,"Valt is very caring of you too... If you don't know..."

"Really...?"I rubbed my right eye, lying down beside a light post.

"Yeah..."Shu sat beside me, looking up at the dark and gloomy skies."he do.."

My vision slowly starts to spin... I can feel my self giving up...

I shut my eyes close and slowly fell asleep...

Hoping that when I wake up, I won't be alone or being roasted on top of a burning coal.
