The rain got heavier, so the group set up camp. Lukas built another tent, and Axel and Olivia built a better tree house. Ivor decided to build a shelter under a cliff, and Petra was nowhere to be found. Jesse wanted to make sure she had everyone, so she went looking for her. But Lukas found Jesse.
"What're you doing out here, Jesse?" He asked. That made her jump, a little bit.
"Oh! Lukas. Hi. Didn't know you were there." Jesse sighed. "I was looking for Petra."
"Oh, well, do you need help?" Lukas offered. Jesse wanted to talk to her alone, but she didn't like pushing Lukas away, so much.
"Um. I think I've got it. I need to talk to her. She hasn't been doing so good. Thanks though."
"Uh. Sure. No problem. See you back at the camp?"
Jesse nodded. Lukas walked away, a little disappointed. Did she make the wrong choice? She decided, that after she brought Petra back, she would spend the rest of the day with Lukas. That sounded good.
After a while of searching, Jesse found Petra, sitting under a tree, on a cliff, going over the edge of the world. She was crying, really hard.
Jesse sat down next to her.
"He was gonna propose to me, today." She said, weakly. She was holding his jacket.
Tears streamed down her face, getting the leather, she was holding, slightly wet. "I just wanna tell him 'yes.' But it's too late."
"Petra, I'm so sorry."
"Me too." She said.
There was a long while of silence, until Jesse broke it.
"Everyone's probably worrying about us."
Petra sniffed, and nodded.
Jesse stood up, and helped Petra to her feet. They walked back, Petra keeping the leather jacket, close to her.
When they got back, Petra went to Ivor's room. Because it was dark, and calming. Ivor never talked to her, so it was always quiet, and she could get her thoughts straight.
Jesse entered the tent, and saw Lukas at a crafting table.
"Hey, Lukas." She said.
"Oh, Jesse. Hey. What's up?" He asked.
"Nothing. So, what're you doing?"
"Trying to make an anvil. But it won't work. Maybe I don't have the right ingredients."
"Need help?" She asked.
Lukas smiled. "Sure. Here." He handed Jesse a ton of iron ingots.
"No wonder. You need iron blocks, too." Jesse smiled. She crafted three iron blocks, and then an anvil.
"Thanks, Jesse." Lukas said.
"Just helping out." She said, smiling. She leaned against the wall, while Lukas started crafting some pickaxes. He looked busy, so she went outside. The ground was still wet, so her shoes got soaked.
Jesse saw Petra slam Ivor's door open, as she ran out, crying. The leather jacket, she was wearing, flew behind her, as she ran into the forest.
Jesse ran after her. She saw Petra fall onto the floor, her tears falling onto the wet grass.
Jesse kneeled beside her, and pat her back. Petra kept sobbing her tortured heart out, while the stars rose above them.
Petra started slamming her fist onto the dirt, and she fell onto her side, still crying.
"Why!" She yelled. The sky started to lighten, by the moon. Then it was covered by down pouring clouds.
Jesse helped Petra to her feet, but she didn't move. She just lay on the floor, crying. The leather on her jacket was starting to get soaked.
Jesse grabbed her arm, and pulled her to her feet. She fell into Jesse's arms, and continued crying. Jesse took her to the tent.
Petra started to calm down, when they got there. Jesse set her on a chair, while tears still streamed down her face. She wasn't crying anymore, but her eyes were still tearing. Jesse sat on her bed, exhausted. Lukas walked up to her, and started wringing out her hair, which she never let anyone do, but she didn't care. It was only Lukas.
Petra soon fell asleep on the chair. Her back was on one of the arms, while her legs crossed over the other.
Jesse didn't sleep. The rain beating on the tent was really loud, and annoying. Lukas was still at the crafting table, and he stayed up all night. After a while, the rain calmed down, and she fell asleep.
In the morning, she woke up with something around her neck. She picked it up. It was a gold necklace, with the words I Love You on it...
