Jesse smiled. "Really?"
"Yeah. It's a girl, too." Petra crossed her arms.
"That's amazing, Petra!" Jesse said, starting to get excited. "Gil would be so proud."
"Yeah. I bet. I think I'm gonna name her Erin."
Jesse sighed. "That's a cute name. Petra! This is so exciting!"
"I know. But, I was hoping for a girl and a boy. But, girls are nice, too."
"They'll be strong. Like you."
Petra smiled, and the two started walking, deeper into the maze.
Every turn was a dead end, and they just got themselves more lost.
"This is hopeless!" Petra yelled, in frustration.
"Don't worry, I got this. I'll just call for the rest of the group." Jesse put her hands around her mouth. "Hey, guys?" She yelled.
"Jesse?" A voice echoed. It was Lukas.
"We're a little lost, can you help us?"
"Uh. Where are you?"
Jesse looked at Petra. "No idea!"
"Just come find us! Ivor said he knows the way!"
"OK! Let's climb the vines."
Petra sighed. More climbing. She thought.
At the top, Jesse started yelling, again.
"Where are you guys?"
"Over here!" Lukas yelled.
The two followed Lukas's voice, and eventually climbed down, to the two other people.
"Hey, girls!" Lukas said, as he pulled Jesse closer to him, by her waist.
"Hey, Lukas." Petra said.
"We need to take a left here." Ivor pointed.
"Wait. What about Axel and Olivia?" Jesse asked.
"Oh. Right. They said they needed 'alone time.'" Lukas said.
"Alright, then. Let's just keep going."
After a while of twists and turns, and even wrong turns, the group made it to a large door, made out of obsidian.
"Alright. Take out your pickaxes." Ivor said. He drank a reddish, pinkish colored potion, and he was covered in bubbles. "Here. You may need these." He handed everyone a different potion.
Jesse got a potion of invisibility, Lukas got a potion of swiftness, and Petra got a potion of regeneration.
Jesse opened the door, to reveal a giant block in the center.
"Be careful, and stay quiet. It's sleeping." Ivor said, as he tiptoed in the dark room. "Verdakcaradchean is very sensitive to noises and movements. So move very slowly." Ivor approached the block. It had one closed eye. "Alright. Hit it, all at once." Ivor said, as he raised his pickaxe above the beast. The rest of the group did the same. "Now!" He yelled. The group swung their pickaxes, and the beast woke up.
Lukas drank his potion, and started running all over the place. Jesse drank hers, and her appearance faded away, into the air. Petra felt she didn't need her potion, yet, and everyone started attacking the large cube.
With a pickaxe in both hands, Lukas started mining Verdakcaradchean. He was really fast, and its health went down faster.
Jesse was able to attack it, without it knowing she was there.
Petra wanted to stay calm, and attack it of it got close to her.
Ivor's attacks were powerful, and did a lot of damage. Probably from the potion he drank.
After a while, Verdakcaradchean was defeated. A chest appeared in a corner of the room. Ivor opened it, and his face lit up. He took out a large sledge hammer.
"A hammer? We did all this, for a hammer?" Lukas asked, quickly. A side effect from the potion.
"Oh, Lukas. Not just any hammer. Notch's hammer!" Ivor said.
"Who?" Petra asked.
"Notch? You mean that guy who created the whole world?" Jesse asked.
"Yes. And this is his hammer!" Ivor yelled.
"Cool!" Jesse walked up to Ivor.
"This is the most powerful weapon, there is! So let's use it wisely. It only has limited usage." Ivor put the hammer in his pocket. "You ready to go back?"
Everyone nodded, and they headed back into the maze. On their way back, they bumped into Axel and Olivia.
"Hey, guys! Where were you?" Jesse asked.
"Oh, hi. Um. That's not important. So what did you guys find?" Olivia asked trying to change the subject.
"We found Notch's Hammer." Jesse replied.
"Notch's Hammer? Did you just make that up?" Olivia asked.
"No! Why would I make this up?" Ivor yelled.
"So, what kind of loot did you guys get?" Axel asked.
"Here. There was some iron and gold, in the chest." Lukas said, handing Axel the ingots.
Axel didn't seem too impressed. But he was glad to get something.
The group made their way out of the endless maze, and made camp at the bottom of the mountain.
Petra decided to make a shelter. It was small, but it worked.
Everyone else set up their rooms, and night fell.
Jesse studied the pattern on her necklace, wondering how long it took Lukas to make it. She traced her fingers along the lettering. Her eyelids began to grow heavy, and she soon fell asleep...
