Jesse sat up on her bed, so she could see the whole tent. Petra was still on the chair, and Lukas was still at the crafting table.
"Morning." She said, trying not to wake Petra.
Lukas didn't take his eyes off the table. "Morning. How'd you sleep?"
"Good. I guess." Jesse picked up the necklace that hung on her neck. She smiled while her finger traced the pattern, and lettering. It had gold roses for a pattern, and the words we're traced in iron.
Jesse got up from the bed, and walked to Lukas's side.
"Whatcha doing?" She asked.
Lukas sighed. He looked really tired. "I'm making some pickaxes, for tomorrow.
Jesse's eyes widened. They were going tomorrow? Why so early? They only just got there.
Jesse walked out of the tent, letting Lukas get back to what he needed to do. She sat under a tree, hiding from the hot sun. The ground was still wet. But the sun was drying certain paths.
It was then Petra tapped her shoulder. "Jesse?" She asked.
"Petra, what's wrong?"
"I wanna go back."
Jesse paused. "Why?"
"Just please?" Petra looked upset. Jesse sighed, and nodded.
She walked into Ivor's room. He turned around, when he heard the door open.
"Hello, girls." He said. Petra didn't look up from the floor. She just stood behind Jesse, in the doorway.
"Hey. Um. Petra wants to go back. Is it OK If I take her?" Jesse said.
"But we've already made it this far. By the time you get there, it'll be morning, again."
Petra sighed. Then Ivor saw her. "Petra? What happened to you, last night?" He asked.
"It was overwhelming. I just couldn't. Sorry."
Jesse was confused. And that was something she wanted to know, too. "What happened?" She finally asked
"I... I'd rather not talk about it." Petra said, holding her arm, still looking at the ground.
Jesse sighed. Maybe she would tell her, later.
The two walked out of the room. Petra sat under a tree. Jesse sat next to her.
" Petra, what's going on?" Jesse asked.
"I said I don't wanna talk about it."
Jesse sighed. She accepted the fact that she, yet again, was being kept from knowing a secret. She felt good that Petra even told her she had one.
Petra was slowly starting to trust Jesse, again. But she didn't trust her enough to tell her what happened last night. She wanted to, but she couldn't. Not yet, at least.
Petra leaned on a tree, and her back slid down the bark. She was exhausted. She didn't sleep very well, last night. All the thoughts ran through her head, and made her feel sick. Jesse sat under the tree with her.
Ivor walked out of his room, and peeked his head in the tent. He said something the girls couldn't hear.
Petra saw something sparkle in the corner of her eye. She looked over at Jesse's neck. There was a gold shaped necklace, with silver lettering on it.
"What's that?" She asked.
Jesse looked at her neck. "Oh this? I woke up with it this morning."
"It's probably from Lukas." Petra smiled.
Axel and Olivia started taking down their tree house.
Lukas packed up the tent, and Ivor already had his room taken down.
Lukas walked up the Jesse. "You ready, to go?" He asked.
Jesse nodded. Lukas smiled, and helped Jesse to her feet. Petra got herself up. The group headed towards the mountain in the distance.
Lukas and Jesse walked side by side. Jesse was glad to be at least being with Lukas. And Lukas was enjoying every moment of walking with the girl he loved. He needed this. He really wanted to ask her to be his girlfriend, but he didn't have the courage, to.
The group soon made it to the base of the mountain.
"That is huge." Axel said.
Petra looked a little overwhelmed.
Ivor started climbing the rocks. Everyone joined him, and stopped when they reached a cave, to take a break.
Lukas and Jesse sat in a corner, Axel and Olivia stayed on the floor, Ivor started making another pickaxe and Petra sat outside the cave. Jesse wanted to check on her, but she was enjoying her time with Lukas. She decided to stay. She didn't want to ruin this.
Jesse fell asleep on Lukas's shoulder.
When Jesse woke up, she was alone in the cave. She got up, and walked into the daylight. The group was on the bottom of the mountain.
Olivia was the first to see her. She waved. Jesse waved back, and started to climb down the mountain.
Lukas wrapped his arm around her waist, when she got to the ground. He seemed to be in a good mood, today.
Jesse's necklace shimmered in the sun. The group started to walk around the mountain.
"So, how far is the temple?" Jesse asked.
"On the other side of this mountain. We're looking for a temple, so keep your eyes open." Ivor responded.
After a while of looking, Petra fell to her knees, and started coughing up blood...
