Listen To Those Bells Ringing...

Lukas' POV

Petra walked through the portal. I followed her. When I spawned into the network, tears ran down Petra's face.

"You OK?" I asked.

"What if this doesn't work... What if I never see Gill again?"

"But what if it does work?"

She wiped her face. "Then it'll work. But then people will question me."

"Why?"

"Because I brought someone back from the dead. And people will think I'm crazy."

"I won't." I said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

(Fangirls: I SHIP IT!!!
Me: No.)

She looked at me with her watering eyes. "Then who knows what'll happen after that..."

"We'll figure out when we get there. Now open the Atlas."

She nodded and pulled out the glowing book. "OK, Atlas. Take me to him. Take me to Gill."

The Atlas opened and a blue light shone from it, leading us to a red portal.

More tears than before fell down Petra's stained cheeks. "I can't believe it... It worked..." She squeezed me. I struggled to breathe. "It actually worked!" She yelled jumping with me in her arms.

"So-go-in." I said with barely any oxygen. Don't forget that Petra is strong.

"Right. OK." She let go of me. I gasped for breath.

She stepped through. I followed her.

When I spawned in, I was in a suit and tie, in front of a mirror. Axel came in.

"Hey man!" He yelled.

"Axel? What's going on?" I asked.

"Uh... It's your wedding day! Did you forget?"

"What!?" I yelled.

"Calm down! It's almost time!"

"Time?!"

"To go get married...? Duh!"

I looked back in the mirror. "Is this really happening?" I asked.

"Are you OK?"

"I... I don't know..." I decided to play along. "I'm really nervous..."

"Don't be. Now hurry up! Don't wanna leave Petra out there for too long."

"Petra?"

"Man. What's wrong with you? Do you not remember anything?"

"I'm just- really confused. Am I marrying Petra?" I asked.

"Who else would you marry?"

"This makes no sense!" I yelled.

"I'll give you another minute..." Axel left, leaving the door open a crack.

I peeked out.

"Sup Lukas!" I saw a pair of blue eyes jump in front of me. The door opened. "How's my big bro doing?"

"Nell?!"

"I'm right here, you don't need to yell. I saw Axel come out all like, confused and, like, scared, like something, like, happened to you. You doin' alright brah?"

"I just- I dunno..."

"Cold feet, huh? Don't worry. You like totally got this!" She hugged and kissed my cheek. "I'll see you later Luke!"

I held my cheek. What was happening? Was Nell my sister? Why was I marrying Petra? Where was Jesse? I needed answers. And fast.

I opened the door. I've been to a wedding before, but I wasn't in any part of it. What is the groom supposed to do?

I took a right, following the sound of the organ. I bumped into-Ivor?

"Whoa there! You're running a little behind. Petra's waiting on you, you know."

"I- sorry..."

"No need to worry. Come with me, quickly!" Ivor pulled me passed the entrance to the aisle.
I followed him to the very end of it, taking a short cut. Nobody was there, they just wanted me there for when everyone shows up.

"Good luck! And congratulations!"

"Thanks, Ivor."

A couple minutes passed and people came in. I waited patiently for Petra. This made no sense. But I played along, anyway.

The organ started playing the wedding March, and that was when I knew she was coming. I saw her. In a big wedding gown, her hair longer than normal. But still. She looked great. She walked slowly towards me, and smiled while a tear of joy fell down her face. She stopped in front of me.

"Dearly beloved," The priest said.
"We are gathered together on this beautiful afternoon to share with Petra and Lukas as they exchange vows of their everlasting love.
May their marriage bring them the peace, joy, comfort and contentment that is known in the hearts of all God's children. And may Lukas and Petra both look forward to each new season of their marriage --- just as the world looks forward to each new season of the year. For all seasons bring with them their own special moments and memories.
An essential requirement of a good marriage is a strong bond of real friendship and trust. Petra and Lukas, your love for each other will grow deeper with every passing day, but it's important to remember that your love stands on a foundation of genuine, mutual affection and respect for each other. To truly LOVE another person is to be willing to accept both their strong points, and their weak points, with equal measures of understanding and respect.
The vows you are about to exchange, will serve as a verbal representation of the non-verbal emotions that are as real as any thing that can be seen, heard or touched.
For it is not the words that you will speak today that will bond you together as one --- but the strength of the love and commitment found deep within your souls. Let us pray. At this time, I'll ask you, Lukas, and you, Petra, to face each other and take each other's hands.
Lukas, will you take Petra to be your wife, your partner in life and your one true love? Will you cherish her friendship and love her today, tomorrow and forever? Will you trust and honor her, laugh with her and cry with her? Will you be faithful through good times and bad, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"I will." I answered, even though I was confused out of my mind.

"Petra, will you take Lukas to be your husband, your partner in life and your one true love? Will you cherish his friendship and love him today, tomorrow and forever? Will you trust and honor him, laugh with him and cry with him? Will you be faithful through good times and bad, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"

"Of course. I will." Petra said. She took her hands in mine.

"May I have the rings?" The priest asked.

A little chicken came up to us with rings on a pillow.

"Thanks, Benedict." I whispered. She clucked at me.

I took a ring and slid it on Petra's finger. She did the same.

"By the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss."

My eyes widened as Petra sank her lips onto mine. I was confused. I felt like something was wrong. Jesse was wrong. This was wrong. But I had to play along. Petra was like a sister to me. I couldn't let her down.

I hesitated before kissing her back. The crowd went wild behind us.

Petra looked dreamily into my eyes. I knew what I had to do now. I picked her up, and walked down the aisle while all the kids blew bubbles.

-TIME SKIP-

I wapped my arm around Petra's waist and placed her hand in mine. She put her other hand around my neck, and music started playing. We started slow dancing.

"I'm so happy about this. I love you, Lukas." Petra whispered in my ear.

"I love you too, Petra. So much." I meant it. I loved Petra. She was like a sister to me. But I was confused why I wasn't marrying Jesse. "Can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

"Where's Jesse?"

"Where have you been?" She asked.

"What?"

"Jesse's been dead for three years..."
