I Can't Forget You...
Jesse sat on the floor, and crossed her arms on the side of Lukas's bed, crying. Lukas pet her hair. He already forgot what color it was. His memory was fading, now that he couldn't see.
Jesse eventually cried herself to sleep. Her arm wasn't healing, at all. But Jesse didn't have the energy to care.
She woke up, with Lukas's hand in her jet black hair. Her clip in her hair fell onto Lukas's bed, covering half her face.
Jesse got up, and walked, weakly, to her room. She sat at her desk, and started crying, again. She still couldn't believe what was happening, so she cried it off. Olivia, Axel, and Petra walked in. Petra hugged her, and started crying, too. Everyone was surprised. Was Petra really- crying? Jesse looked up, into Petra's tearing eyes. She felt cared for. She was so stressed out, and tired, it was hard to stay awake. But she couldn't sleep, at night.
--------------
Jesse walked back into Lukas's room, but he wasn't alone. A man with a leather jacket, and messy brown hair, sat on his bed. Aiden.
He looked back, he wasn't upset, he knew this was where she lived. He just wanted to see his old friend.
"Hello, Jesse." He said in a weak voice. He slid over, so Jesse could sit with him. "He told me everything."
"Jesse? Is that you?" Lukas asked. Jesse held his hand.
"I'm right here, Lukas. I'm right here." Jesse said. Tears streamed down her cheeks. Aiden pat her back. She kept Lukas's hand near her face.
"Please don't leave me, Jesse." He said. Tears went down the side of his face, and into his hair.
"Of course, I won't leave you." Jesse's tears got heavier. "I will never leave you. I will never leave you!" Jesse reached over, and hugged him. Lukas hugged her back.
Jesse knew this was her fault, no matter how many people tell her it's not.
"I- Thank you Jesse." Lukas said. Jesse let go of him, and sat up.
"For what?" Jesse asked. Lukas's leather jacket was wet, from her tears.
"Everything." Lukas said, smiling.
"But, why? What did I do?"
"You've just, always been there for me. And I never thanked you."
Tears started going down Jesse's face. She held Lukas's hand again. "Well, I never thanked you, for saving me, out in the woods, the other day. With the spider."
"Don't mention it. I did that because I love you, and I couldn't let that thing hurt you. It was going to attack you Jesse. It wasn't going after me!" Lukas sat up.
"Lukas, I'm so sorry."
"Don't be. I was trying to protect you. But I didn't turn out too good." Lukas smiled.
Jesse's tears slowly faded. Was Lukas happy? Jesse smiled at him. That's the first time Jesse's smiled, since any of this happened.
Olivia came in the room. "Why are you here?" She asked, looking at Aiden.
"Don't worry, he's with me." Lukas said. He sat up. Olivia made an angry face.
"Well, I better not find him causing any trouble." Olivia said, walking out of the room.
"Thanks." Aiden said.
"No problem." Lukas smiled at the air. He looked happy. I guess I don't need to worry, anymore. Jesse thought. If Lukas was happy, she was happy.
"Wait. Where's Gil?" Lukas asked.
"Gil is, very sick." Aiden said. Lukas made his scared face.
"I need to see him!" Lukas yelled.
"That's not a good idea." Jesse said.
"Jesse, I can move. Please. Let me see him." Jesse wanted him to go, but what if something happened on the way?
"Alright, but I'm going with you." Jesse said, holding Lukas's hand. He smiled.
"Thank you, Jesse." He said. Jesse helped him to his feet. He almost lost his balance, but caught it, when Jesse put her hands on his shoulders. She led him out of his room, and slowly helped him down the 25 stairs.
--------------
When they made it to Aiden's place, Gil was sitting on a bed, coughing hard. He didn't look comfortable, at all. Jesse led Lukas to him.
He looked up, from rubbing his eyes. "Lukas?" He asked.
"Hi, Gil." He said.
"What happened to you?"
"A spider blinded me. But I'm fine, now."
"We all know you're the strongest of us." Gil said, weakly. Lukas smiled at his voice.
"You're strong, too. But I just needed to check on you." Lukas said. "Make sure you're safe."
Gil lay back on the bed. "Thanks, man. But I don't know how much longer I can be safe."
"What?" Lukas asked.
"I'm dying, Lukas..."
