Petra's POV

I stepped through the portal. I was alone. Not even the twins were with me. I was confused. Really confused. Where was Lukas? What was happening? Why was I... In a prison?

"Hey!" I screamed. My hands were in chains. "Hello?!"

A guard walked passed my cell. "Hey!"

"What?" He asked.

"What's going on?"

"Um... You're in jail."

"I can see that. But why?"

"Um... You don't remember?"

"No! I just came through a portal and I spawned here!"

He walked closer to me. "Do you know how many times I've heard that, warrior?"

"So you know who I am?"

"Petra the Warrior. And you went out and killed someone. Nobody knows why, or who, but you killed someone out of grief."

"What? Where's Gill?"

"The Blaze Rod? He left. He's done everything he could to get as far as possible from you. He took your kids too."

"What year is this?"

"2019."

"What?!"

"Makes sense. Most prisoners forget what year it is."

"So Gill's alive?" I asked.

"He's alive and well. At least I think he is. Who knows where he is by now?"

I gripped the chair I was sitting on. "No... Please! I wouldn't kill anyone!"

"You want to be free? Good luck with that."

"Please let me go! I need to find Lukas!"

"The Architect? He's been dead for at least... Four years? Maybe more. I dunno. But I do know that you're not getting out of here anytime soon."

"Lukas is... Dead?"

"We think you killed him."

"I killed Lukas... No. I won't believe it! I could never kill Lukas! He's like a brother to me!"

"Not anymore. He's as good as dead can get. And it's because of you. But of course, we don't know that for sure. Just keep in mind that it's a high chance."

A tear fell down my cheek. "No... No no no... Why..."

"Spare your tears you'll need them."

I looked up at him. "Why?" I asked.

"You aren't leaving here anytime soon. You'll want your tears for when you leave."

"Let me out, please! I'm begging you, please!" Another tear ran down my face.

"Not a chance." He took out the key, and placed it on the floor, right where I couldn't reach it. I pulled on the chains like my life depended on it. This was life or death. I chose life. I pulled harder, so hard my skin broke. But I didn't care. The guard was gone. I tried to use my foot to get the key, but it was too far. This was torture. I pulled harder on the chains. My hands were losing circulation, but I didn't care. I needed that key.

Blood dripped on the floor, along with my tears of pain.

I felt one of the links loosen. I gripped on the chains and pulled. It broke. I tried to reach the key, but I was just an inch away. I grabbed on the other chain, and pulled. It didn't break. It was too strong. I lay there helpless, tears falling onto the floor, mixing with the blood.

I lay there, forgetting that I was alive.

"Hi Petra. Long time, no see." I looked up.

"GILL!" I tried to stand up, but I was too weak.

He shook his head. "I never thought I'd have to do this..." He kicked the key under the cell door. I quickly grabbed it.

"Thank you..." I put the key into the cuff. It didn't work. The guard gave me the wrong key! I panicked, frantically turning the key. But it didn't work.

"It won't work. It won't work! It won't work Gill it won't work-"

"I know. You deserve this. I'm sorry, Petra. I can't love you anymore..."

"Don't say that! You love me! I know you love me! Please..." More tears fell down my face. "Do you remember us...? Do you remember our love? I came through a portal looking for you... And this is what I get... You tell me you don't love me... I remember all the great memories we had... Kiss tag... The lake... The dream... Everything... And then you died... And I've grieved for months... And now that you're alive... You don't love me... But you can never stop me from loving you... I enjoyed every moment with you, sweety..."

He sighed. "I have no idea what you're talking about. But it sounds awful. Yet- I don't really care. You're no longer a part of my life, Petra. I'm sorry."

"No... Don't lie to yourself..."

"It was nice to see you..." He left.

"No... Please..." I cried. "You love me Gill... I know it..."
