~TIME SKIP~
10:31 AM.
I'm sitting at a table, eating my breakfast.

"Hello", said an unfamiliar voice.
I turn around and see this girl. She looks like she's 12, like me, has bright blue eyes, and long brunette hair.
"Hello", I replied.
"My name is Adeline. What your name?" She was now sitting down next to me.
"Adeline... What a beautiful name. My name is Joy." Joy. The total opposite of my life.
"Thanks. Nice to meet you, Joy..... If you don't mind me asking, why are you here?"
She's asking now? We just met like 1 minute ago!
"Well... I'm here because I'm diagnosed with cancer..."
"I'm sorry about that.. I'm diagnosed with... Cancer.... Too..."
Now that I looked at her hair, it does look like she's losing her hair at the same rate as me.
I wanted to change the subject. "Where are you from?"
"I'm from Seattle... Here! What about you?"
"Boise, Idaho." Yep. I'm from there.
"How did you end up here, in Washington?"
"Ummm.... It's a long story... I don't want to talk about it...." No way that I was going to tell her about how my mother left me,
my aunt dying in a car crash, and me ending here because I was in an orphanage.
"That's fine. Do you know how long breakfast is, because they're starting to clean up the kitchen?"
"Actually, I don't know. I just arrived at this hospital this week and I don't know much about it."
"I guess that we're friends now, huh?"
"I guess so." I don't know... I've never had a friend before...
"See you tomorrow, or later, at lunch or dinner?" Adeline was now getting up from the table.
"Sure. Bye", I said, waving, as she walked away.
This may be a new thing to me, but I felt something different, compared to what I've felt before, when I meet new people.
