Chapter 16
Loki and I were walking side by side towards the gate of Hell but neither of us uttered a word. The turmoil in me was very much alive but him, on the other hand, seemed like he couldn't wait to cross the border. I scanned his demeanor and then just shook my head after I quickly came to terms with who I was dealing with.
Soon enough, we arrived at the gate and I looked up at the black clouds surrounding it, knowing it was Astaroth. I hoped he held onto his end of the deal. Despite not being able to see his face, I knew he was being rather hesitant and I fully understood that. Loki glanced at me with a questioning look but I just kept staring at the black fog above the gate. After a few minutes, the gate slowly started opening and I felt almost a mountain of stress leaving my body.
"For a second I thought he wasn't going to let us in," I mumbled to Loki once we were far enough from Astaroth.
"He?" Loki asked, confused and turned around, looking back at the gate.
"That black cloud was a demon..." I explained and he gasped in surprise and fixed his gaze on me.
"Oh wow..." Loki mumbled, glancing one last time behind him. "Not even I noticed anything different."
"Astaroth is of the highest rank. He doesn't fool around." I chuckled silently. That was when I noticed we were approaching the palace. I stopped in my tracks and grabbed Loki by the arm to stop him. "Before we go in, you are to be introduced as the lesser demon of lust. That way it makes more sense why you'd be hanging out with me most of the time. Although I doubt they'd question much when you look like... that." I commented and Loki raised an eyebrow, pulling his arm out of my grip.
"So... what you're saying is..." he began as he stepped towards me, being almost inches away, "I'd be under you?"
I slightly frowned, wondering what exactly he was trying to accomplish. "Keep talking like that and I'll begin thinking you're attracted to me as well." I smirked and Loki suddenly backed away a few steps. "Well, now I'm almost insulted." I said sarcastically and still kept the smirk on my face as Loki continued to glare at me.
I didn't let him add anything else to the conversation, as I walked towards the door of the palace. He followed silently right behind me until we reached the door and I looked at him one last time to check if he was ready. Loki quickly nodded and I pushed the door open. Just like I anticipated, upon our entry into the palace, demons stopped their movements one by one, their attention irresistibly drawn towards Loki. While there were certainly female demons present, Loki possessed a unique allure that set him apart. It was the specific blend of godly charisma and the gentle features of Nordic deities.
It was rather amusing watching all these demons being absolutely charmed by a sole presence.
I looked at Loki to see his reaction and, indeed, there was a small smile playing on his lips. It was like he was taking in all the attention with pure amusement. Maybe it wouldn't be too hard to convince others that he was a lesser demon of lust.
"Follow me." I said to Loki before he got too used to the attention. He looked over at me and nodded with a small smile and eyes that sparkled with curiosity and confidence.
I started making my way towards the top of the palace in order to inform the Devil about the newcomer. I quite feared his reaction but it consoled me that he was not in his right mind at the moment. That only meant his senses were most likely off or at least not that good as usual.
When we got on top of the staircase we were met by the Devil's assistant whose eyes immediately averted towards Loki. There was a bit of fear as well as odd fascination in them but then the demon quickly got up from the chair and said,
"The Dark Lord is busy right now... He said not to allow anyone in." He said firmly as his eyes quickly locked with mine and I frowned a bit.
"What is he doing if it's not a secret?" I tilted my head a bit and stepped towards him.
"Uh... he didn't explain," that made me even more confused and I actually wondered if he was even conscious behind those doors. I walked towards the door when the demon rushed over to stop me, standing right between me and the entrance. "I'm sorry, king Asmodeus, but I can't just allow you."
I clenched my jaw and before I could do anything, Loki walked up next to me and flipped his long hair as he put his hand on the demon's shoulder. I felt my stomach twist in itself at the sight, wondering what the hell Loki was up to. Suddenly, he stretched out his lips in the most beautiful smile I'd seen a female make and then declared,
"Say, how about I take care of you after he deals with his dear boss. See, if you allow us, you'll be seeing a lot more of me." He said as he brushed his hand over the other demon's cheek. The demon stared at him with wide eyes, almost terrified but seemingly unable to protest. He swallowed the lump in his throat and said,
"Uhm, I'm... I guess... I can do that." I blinked a few times at the reaction and actually started wondering how in the world was Loki better at this than I was. That was when the demon slowly moved away from the door and I approached them. I knocked a couple of times but there was no response from the other side. I looked over at the demon but he was too busy staring at Loki who was just smirking at him.
I blew air through my nose in annoyance, "So the Devil didn't say anything?" I asked sharply and the demon instantly turned his attention towards me.
"No..." he stuttered, "just that I shouldn't allow anyone in."
There was definitely something very fishy going on over there and I had to find a way in. I gathered all the strength in me and then backed a few steps away before dashing towards the door in hopes I'd be able to break them down. However, as soon as I collided with them, it pushed me back with great force and I flew across the room, landing on my back.
Loki and the demon both turned their attention towards me before the trickster god rushed over, kneeling beside me.
"What the hell happened?" He asked me as I was continuing to lay on the floor, feeling like my back just broke in half. The door must have been sealed with some extremely powerful spell.
"Fuck me if I know..." I mumbled angrily as I tried to stand up but the sharp pain jolted through my nerves and I had to lay back down. "God damn, what the hell was that force?" I grumbled and I noticed the assistant also rushing over and staring down at me.
"I'm so sorry, king Asmodues!" He yelled out with a voice full of worry, "is there anything I can do to help?"
"Yes, for example, help me stand up." I said sharply as he approached me and Loki stood up as well. They both reached towards me and grabbed me by the arms, attempting to lift me. In that moment, I cried out in pain and screamed at them to put me down before I struggled out of the grip, falling back on the floor.
"King Asmodeus!" The demon yelped and Loki gasped the moment I landed on my back. It felt like every bone in my body was broken. I grunted one more time as I tried to figure out what just happened.
"It's fine, I'll deal with him," Loki sighed before reaching down towards me once again, suddenly pulling me by the waist and with ease throwing me over his shoulder like I was a sack of potatoes. It seemed he hadn't lost any of his strength despite his petite and seemingly frail form. I grumbled a few times and I tried to get out of his grip but it was just impossible.
"How the..." the other demon mumbled before Loki turned towards him.
"Don't judge a book by its cover," he said as he simply turned away and strutted downstairs.
"Hey, put me down!" I yelled out.
"Be quiet or I'll drop you." He mumbled and I sighed out in annoyance before just giving up. I felt my face become crimson red the moment we arrived at the bottom floor and he started walking through the hallway. This was just outright embarrassing and I thought that maybe if I had just continued to lay there, it would be less painful. I wanted to tell him where to go before I remembered he had already visited my room once before.
Soon enough we were back in my chamber and he carefully put me down on the bed and I instantly felt the pain jolting again. I growled silently and then felt instant relief as my back felt the soft mattress.
"I've only been here for five minutes and you've already managed to get yourself almost killed," Loki shook his head as his bright blue eyes stared at me with some sort of gentleness. It was a very peculiar emotion I didn't quite understand.
"Are you gloating?" I mumbled and he looked at me with a bit of confusion before he sat down next to me on the bed.
"Not everyone is gloating at someone's misery, Asmodeus." He responded with a small smile.
"Then what are you saying?" I asked, genuinely at a loss. Loki simply shrugged.
"I'm saying what I've said. You're quite a... mighty demon before I show up. Isn't that weird?" He asked slightly frowning but with undertones of odd implications.
I groaned at him and then just gave up altogether. "Whatever, Loki. If you're going to help, bring me some of Beelzebub's food... and I'll just go to sleep." I closed my eyes and turned my head away because I couldn't move the rest of my body at all.
"Suit yourself. Maybe stop living in denial for once is all I'm saying." He said through a sigh before getting up from the bed. I frowned and instantly got my attention to Loki once again, staring directly at him, locking my eyes with his.
"Stop hinting at things and just tell me outright." I said sharply.
"You're oddly vulnerable around me, aren't you? And isn't one thing that demons can't feel...genuine love?" He cocked his eyebrow before smirking slightly and then before I could respond with anything, he walked right through the door.
I continued staring at the door as I felt a lump sliding down my throat. So many thoughts swarmed my mind the more I was processing what Loki had said. It was like he spilled a bucket full of ice water with that question. It was then when I began to feel a long forgotten emotion - fear.
While his statement made logical sense, everything in me was still struggling to be at peace with it. Demons weren't able to feel genuine love, that was true. And what I felt for Loki wasn't love, I was sure. I wasn't going to allow him to bring me down with his trickster games. I acknowledged that he was attractive but... love?
I snorted to myself and shook my head before closing my eyes, trying to force these ridiculous thoughts away. Still... the spell on the door shouldn't have hurt me as much as it did. I breathed out trying to calm myself down and convince myself that I was overthinking it and that Loki was completely wrong.
Few minutes later, the door swung open and I instantly opened my eyes, noticing Beelzebub and Loki rushing inside. Beelzebub pushed a tray of coconut macaroons he was carrying into Loki's hands before stepping closer to me.
"How in the world did this happen?" He asked with a frown scanning me from top to bottom.
"I thought you hated me," I grumbled, even speaking beginning to be painful.
Beelzebub sighed in annoyance, "I don't hate you enough to want to watch you die apparently."
I attempted to smile, feeling a slight jolt of pain coursing through me. "I won't die yet. Not my time."
He took the tray from Loki's hands and sat next to me on the bed.
"Are you going to be able to eat?" He looked at me with a small frown.
"I hope so." I mumbled before attempting to sit up but I was instantly forced to lay back down by the pain. "Fuck... It feels like it's even getting worse."
I heard Loki sigh from a distance before he also sat next to me and helped me sit up by allowing me to lean on him. It was still painful but significantly less so. I looked at Loki who only locked his eyes with mine for a second before quickly turning away and grabbing one macaroon from the tray.
"You two... have gotten quite close." Beelzebub said with suspicion dripping from his voice.
"He just seems to always be in near death situations with me. I had to take care of him many times," Loki responded before putting the macaroon near my mouth and I frowned.
"Many times?" The other demon asked in apparent surprise. Loki nodded and then pushed the macaroon closer to my mouth.
"Eat." He demanded.
"Can't you just put it in my hand?" I grumbled.
"You're practically immobile from neck down so no." He said firmly and I saw there was no point in protesting as I parted my lips slightly before he slid the macaroon in. I began chewing and I instantly felt the most calming and numbing sensation rush through my body.
"Beelzebub... once again... you outdid yourself," I chuckled as I looked at him, who was still staring at us in confusion. He quickly turned his attention to me before stretching out his lips in a wide smile.
"I'm glad you think so." He said softly before he stood up and placed the tray on the bed where he sat. "I think I'm going to leave you two alone..." He said carefully and headed towards the door.
"Come back later, we have to discuss a few things." I said and Beelzebub turned his head towards me and smiled slightly.
"Deal." He nodded and then walked out leaving me with the trickster god who had another macaroon pressed against my lips. I took a bite of it and another rush of pure bliss coursed through my veins.
"Lord..." I mumbled, feeling relief in my back and the general stiffness melting away. I sat up fully and leaned against the headboard, grabbing the tray and devouring the food. Loki watched me the entire time, amusement dancing in his eyes. I couldn't focus much on him because, for the first time in a while, I felt good about my life and well-being. It was as if the relief went beyond physical pain, soothing every troubled corner of my mind.
Once I finished the entire tray, I set it aside and then leaned against the pillow, closing my eyes, breathing heavily.
"Asmodeus..." I heard Loki say silently but I couldn't open my eyes, I just continued to lay there feeling every piece of me finally relaxing. "Look at me." He almost demanded and I had to force myself to look at him and I almost panicked when I saw him sitting much closer than before.
"Tell me now... what do you feel?" The trickster god smiled slightly, his red hair falling over his eyes and his soft features looking much softer under the influence of the food.
"I feel... great." I said through a chuckle.
"No, Asmo. What do you feel?" He repeated the question now in a much firmer tone.
I swallowed a lump in my throat and then spoke silently, "I feel like... I'd really like to kiss you right now."
"I thought you'd never ask," he said, leaning down towards my face but stopping just inches from my lips. A sudden wave of pure lust surged through me, electrifying every pore. I lifted my head slightly and pressed my lips against his, my hand reaching to his neck and tangling in his hair as I kissed him harder. It was a kiss beyond words, as if my whole body was ablaze with sheer lust and passion. I had never felt anything like it before. Not with anyone.
At once, Loki pulled away, but his gaze remained locked on me, and I couldn't look away either. The macaroons were definitely more than just healing treats; the trickster god had infused them with his own magic.
The thought of being tricked made me clench my jaw, but I refused to show any fear or let him think he had outsmarted me. I frowned, grabbed him by the collar, and kissed him again, relishing his gasp of surprise.
"You can't trick me, Loki. You can only hope to get the truth out of me," I smirked, releasing him and getting up from the bed to straighten my clothes. He furrowed his brows, watching me intently as he sat up.
"So, you're saying there is something you're not admitting?" He asked as he crossed his arms.
"That only concerns me. And you won't know it until we are done with the whole Devil ordeal," I smiled down at him, in an almost sinister way. He huffed before standing up.
"Even a truth serum was pointless." He mumbled, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"Oh, Loki, it takes a lot more than a truth serum to make me speak the truth. I'm a king of demons. You're underestimating me as well." I hummed in amusement before approaching him and then wrapping my arm around him, pulling him closer. "You're a good kisser though."
Loki grunted and turned his head towards me with a puzzled look before stretching out his lips into a smile. "You too. Deserving of the title."
"Well, thank you... friend." I snickered before patting him on the back when he started laughing too and shook his head.
"For someone who wants to deny his innermost thoughts, you sure were into me earlier. I'm just saying." He shrugged as he fluttered his eyelashes in an almost mocking way.
"It was the macaroons."
"So it was the macaroons." He hummed before rubbing his jaw and then stepping away from me. "If that's what you want me to believe, okay." He shrugged.
"Like I said, don't get ahead of yourself." I said a bit more firmly. He pursed his lips, clearly skeptical of my words, but ultimately nodded in reluctant agreement. "We should go and find Beelzebub. And also get Mammon somehow, we need to plan our next move." I decided to switch the topic because it was pointless to continue talking about it. Continuing to discuss the matter would only lead us in circles, and it was evident that he wouldn't glean any more information from me.
"Shouldn't you check on the Devil first? He seems to be not completely in his right mind." Loki narrowed his eyes as he crossed his arms.
"The more he is like this, the more opportunities we have to plan properly. I wouldn't want to make him feel better yet."
"Why did you even want to enter the office before then?"
I pursed my lips and then shrugged, "Curiosity."
"That almost killed you." He snorted.
"As it does." My lips stretched out in a cocky smirk. We both laughed and then headed out of the room while I sent the telepathic message to Mammon to meet us in my office in the casino. I even asked him not to bring Belial but I doubted he'd manage to get out of Belial's manipulative nature.
We picked up Beelzebub in the kitchen then all three of us went to my office and each of us took a seat at the small table. Beelzebub brought the bourbon out of my cabinet and poured us a drink while we were waiting for Mammon and his malicious friend. The three of us sat in silence, each taking a sip from our drinks. Tension hung palpably in the air, not only between Loki and me, but also between Beelzebub and me, and even between Loki and Beelzebub.
"So, Beelzebub... When have you realized you are not going to be mad at me anymore?" I asked as I leaned into the chair and he raised his eyebrows before laughing softly.
"I still haven't fully forgiven you." He responded. "But like I said, I still don't want you to die. So I'll help if I can in your plan." He added, taking a sip from his glass.
"I was sure that we'd never speak again." I said, suddenly noticing that only Beelzebub was the only demon who wasn't fazed by Loki's appearance. Probably because he knew who the actual being was behind the illusion.
"I was ready to never speak to you again as well." Beelzebub said through a sigh and a shrug. "But why is there some odd tension between you and Loki? You two seemed fine earlier." He frowned lightly as he leaned forward. "Did you also have a taste of Asmodeus's nasty nature, huh, Loki?" I parted my mouth in surprise the moment I heard his question. On the other hand, Loki started cracking up after Beelzebub's statement and then put a hand on my shoulder.
"Asmodeus is... not nasty. He's just odd." He smirked knowingly and locked his eyes on me.
"You'd be the first one to say that." Beelzebub sighed and finished his drink.
"Beelzebub, you're supposed to be my friend who knows me well!" I also started laughing, wondering why they were gossiping about me while I was right there.
"Exactly, Asmodeus. I know you far too well." He breathed out as he leaned into the chair and closed his eyes. Before either of us could add anything, the door swung open and Mammon along with Belial walked in. We all turned towards them and they instantly stopped in their tracks upon seeing Loki in all his female glory. I could swear I saw Belial swallow a lump in his throat and Mammon just blinked a few times in confusion and shock. I smirked to myself knowing that Loki was going to shine his trickster nature on them far too well and I wouldn't need to move a finger to convince them of anything.
"Hello..." Belial finally spoke and then approached Loki, reaching out his hand towards him. "Nice to meet you, it's king Belial for you."
I noticed Loki trying to contain laughing in his face but then he spoke, "Loki, it's a god for you."
Belial raised his eyebrows in amusement and then smirked, "I like you." He pointed a finger at him and everyone seemed genuinely surprised at his reaction. But at the same time it bothered me.
"You really couldn't tell him to stay away?" I asked with annoyance dripping in my voice as I averted my gaze towards Mammon. In response, the demon of greed simply shrugged and made his way towards the chair, taking a seat between Loki and Beelzebub. Belial soon joined us as he took a seat next to me, smiling mischievously at me. I simply sighed and turned my attention towards the rest of the group.
"So... I don't know how up to date you all are, but the Devil seems to be... in some sort of delirium." I began and Mammon instantly locked his gaze on me in shock.
"What did you do?!" He asked in pure confusion.
"Not me." I shrugged, crossing my arms.
"You are the only one who knows about this," Belial responded as he took the bourbon and poured himself a glass.
"I know too," Loki suddenly spoke, smirking lightly.
"I do too." Beelzebub joined in the conversation as well. Belial and Mammon looked at each one of us as if to ask if any of us were sane.
"So, what are you saying anyway?" Mammon inquired, crossing his legs as he leaned back.
"We should keep him like this as much as possible. We all know Lucifer is gone therefore he's going through a lot of pain right now, both physically and mentally." I said and Belial raised his eyebrows in curiosity.
"And in the meantime?" Mammon asked in a bit of a mocking tone.
"I'm sure we'll find an answer in no time and take that motherfucker down." I remarked.
"Do we even know what his weakness is?" Beelzebub tilted his head. My gaze turned towards Belial and immediately everyone followed me, and soon all four of us were staring at the demon, who even looked a bit anxious.
"You want me to exploit the Devil?" Belial asked, startled, but neither of us responded, just stared at him and I simply nodded.
"You wanted to be a part of this, act the part." I said firmly. Belial huffed and turned his attention to Mammon as if to ask him to help out. To my surprise, Mammon didn't say anything to Belial's cry for help, he stared at him with even greater intensity than I was.
"Fine." The demon grumbled. "I'll see what I can do. Aren't you trusting me too much though?"
"Remember my threat Belial. We both know who will win this time." I said sharply and Belial tried to mask fear that was forming with a frown and clenching his jaw. "If you ever think of ratting us out, remember Loki in his true form and you'll think again." I snickered and patted Loki's back as he smirked. Belial clenched his jaw harder and rubbed it then suddenly fell silent for a long while.
"So, since we have this settled... How about we make a welcome party for Loki? I mean, after all, the best way to hide something is in the most obvious place." I suggested and everyone threw a glance at me.
"Honestly, I'd be down." Loki responded, leaning back into the chair.
"Are you planning to make it here in the casino?" Beelzebub asked and I nodded, with a small smile. No one seemed to protest at the idea. It was true though that we needed a day to cool off after such stressful times lately.
"I'll go and prepare food then. Everyone else should start gathering people." Beelzebub said as he stood up from the chair. Quickly after, the three of us stood up as well and headed out of the office. We spread through the casino, trying our best to inform each demon about the upcoming party later today and asked them to spread the word through the palace. Beelzebub left quickly afterwards to prepare the food and Loki stayed with me behind the bar, waiting for the casino to fill up. Mammon went to spread the news further with Belial joining him.
The casino was filling up continuously, more and more demons were coming in and I looked over at Loki smiling.
"Who would have imagined you'd become more popular than me?" I chuckled, which made him join in with a snicker and a head shake.
"Well, take a good look at me. Even you couldn't resist," he jeered playfully, giving me a friendly slap on the back. I frowned slightly, but quickly adjusted my expression to a smile, indicating that I didn't take his remark too seriously.
"You do possess a certain charm," I smirked, and Loki's surprise was evident as his lips parted. Before he could respond, however, Mammon took a seat at the bar across from us.
"What are we drinking tonight?" He asked as he leaned against the bar with the most serious look on his face.
"Are you doing okay?" I asked with a raised eyebrow as I came closer to him. He seemed quite disgruntled.
"Yes," came his reply and he didn't bother with providing further details. I decided not to push him further if he didn't feel like speaking. Instead, I took a glass from the shelf behind me, placed my palm over the opening, focused my intention and soon enough, the glass started filling up with a green liquid. The alcohol itself was of demonic origin, however it tasted similarly to licorice with a bitter aftertaste. It had a tinge of magic to it though - it made whoever was drinking it more expressive and more relaxed. Not necessarily a truth serum, but quite close. In my personal opinion, I felt like Mammon needed it.
I grabbed the glass and slid it to him with a smile. "You can be the first one to have a drink."
Mammon remained silent, instead opting to swiftly gulp down his drink. I let out a sigh, shifting my focus to a blonde-haired demon who was making his way behind the bar and soon joining us. This demon, Volac, was responsible for crafting the drinks at events such as this, and it seemed he had returned once again. Despite his youthful appearance, with short, curly hair and a baby face, Volac possessed a skill that far surpassed his appearance. Many demons underestimated him due to his looks, but he had repeatedly proven them wrong with his exceptional ability to concoct remarkable beverages.
I smiled politely at him, "Welcome back. I hope you get this bunch wasted." I laughed, patting his shoulder in a supportive manner.
He grinned, almost mischievously, "That's the plan." He nodded before glancing at Loki behind me, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. However, he didn't comment, instead he proceeded with making drinks and taking over the bar.
Loki and I took that as a hint to leave the area and leave Volac to his work. We made our way to a poker table situated in the far corner of the room, patiently awaiting the arrival of the rest of our group. Within moments, the space became crowded, filling up rapidly. It was evident that the primary attraction drawing everyone's attention was the introduction of Loki. There could be no other explanation for such overwhelming interest.
"I just realized we don't have a name for you..." I whispered in Loki's ear, pulling him by the arm closer to me. Loki frowned and instantly looked at me.
"Are you serious?" He asked in a complete bewilderment.
"Sadly, yes." I responded and he sighed out in annoyance, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "It's okay, I'll think of something."
"You better." Loki said sharply but silently. Briefly after that conversation, Beelzebub and Belial joined us at the table. Beelzebub informed me that he made some small desserts and finger food and set them in the other corner of the room. I could only imagine what sort of effects these ones had to the point I was almost scared to ask. At the same time, I wanted it to take me by surprise when I tried one.
Once I concluded that there would be no more newcomers, I asked Loki to follow me as we started breaking through the crowd. Soon enough, demons simply made a space for us to pass until we reached the poker table in the center of the room. Since we had no fancy platforms, I simply climbed on top of the table and then offered Loki a hand to help him up. As I expected, he refused the hand and simply climbed the table by himself and then just snickered at me as he stood next to me. I sent a smile his way before turning my attention to the crowd, the demons now having all their eyes on us and I instantly felt the rush of excitement. It had been a while since I had been in the center of attention and it felt good.
I scanned the crowd once again before beginning with my speech, filling the room with my voice only,
"Ladies and gentlemen, demons of all desires, esteemed guests, today, it is my great pleasure to stand before you and introduce a new addition to our illustrious infernal family. A being who embodies the intoxicating essence of desire, a lesser demon of unparalleled allure and temptation: L--" I stopped myself just in time and glanced over at Loki who just nudged me in the ribs and I instantly thought of a name, "Lilim, the lesser demon of lust. In the realm of temptation and sensuality, where desire dances its wicked dance, Lilim has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Her seductive charm, both beguiling and enigmatic, captivates all who dare to lay their eyes upon her. With a mere glance, she can awaken dormant passions, unleashing the fiery flames of longing within each and every one of you." I spoke through a huge grin, noticing that Loki was looking at me the entire time. He seemed rather surprised by the introduction but overall pleased and amused. "So, as we gather here tonight, let us embrace the presence of Lilim. Let us revel in her intoxicating essence, for in her wake, passions will surge and the flames of desire will burn brighter than ever before.
I invite you all to raise your glasses, to toast to the arrival of Lilim, the lesser demon of lust. May her presence ignite the fires within us, forever reminding us of the tantalizing power of our darkest desires." Once I ended the sentence, everyone raised their glasses and yelled out in support and praise. Then, I turned myself to Loki with a smile and added, "Welcome, Lilim, to our sinful sanctuary. May your presence awaken the deepest yearnings and fulfill the insatiable cravings that reside within us all." I locked my eyes firmly at him and his lips curved into a smirk, with his eyes almost beginning to glisten.
"Thank you so much, king Asmodeus, for such a wonderful introduction!" Loki responded after a while and then finally looked over at the crowd at which everyone started cheering. "Thank you all for accepting me! King Asmodeus has been a great mentor and a teacher and with him I would have never known how deep lust can run." I could see he tried his hardest to stifle his laughter and I even had to bite my tongue to stop myself from bursting out laughing. "May our journey through the realms of desire be filled with passion, ecstasy, and a boundless exploration of pleasure. Let the intoxicating dance of lust commence, as we surrender to the seductive embrace of our collective desires. Hail to you all, and may our decadent journey begin!" He yelled out in such a strong voice, you'd forget he was a female but all of the demons were so enamored and enchanted by his whole presence, they didn't even pay attention to small irregularities. They all began cheering and applauding even louder, praising Loki's new name.
Even though they weren't praising my name, I still felt proud and was happy Loki seemed to be fitting in so well. It made so many things so much easier. I shouldn't have underestimated his trickster abilities.
"Let the music begin!" I yelled out and with a flick of a wrist, the electronic music started spreading through the room, making everyone cheer once. With that, Loki and I stepped down from the table, making our way back to our group in the corner of the room. Belial and Beelzebub were waiting for us with a huge grin plastered on their faces. It was a grin of pure mockery.
"Nice to meet you, Lilim," Belial spoke, snorting with laughter, hastily covering his mouth with his hand.
"Glad you had the opportunity to delve into the depths of lust with Asmodeus," Beelzebub chimed in, erupting into fits of laughter. The contagious mirth quickly spread, as Belial joined in the laughter. I pressed my lips together, attempting to stifle my own laughter, and glanced at Loki, who watched them with a twinkle of amusement in his eyes.
"Seems like you two are having quite the enjoyable time," Loki remarked as he took a seat at the table, and I promptly sat beside him. "It appears that it has been a while since the two of you explored the depths of lust. Perhaps it would serve you well," he added in a deadpan tone. My laughter burst forth uncontrollably, with Loki joining me, while Beelzebub and Belial fell silent, their amusement quelled by our laughter.
After a long silence, the two of them finally joined us and sat facing us and we finally began drinking. It felt odd hanging out with a demon that tortured me a while ago but it seemed like he at least tried to behave. On the other hand, neither of us knew what was going on with Mammon and why he didn't want to join us at all. I hoped the drink I made for him would help throughout the event and he'd open up to us.
After I made sure everyone at the table was comfortable and having fun, I dug my hand in my pocket and pulled out a small plastic baggie filled with white dust. The three of them instantly looked over at me with obvious amusement.
"Why am I not even surprised?" Beelzebub sighed and rubbed his temples.
"It's a celebration," I smiled and shrugged.
"Where do you even get that?" Belial inquired as he leaned forward, scanning the bag in my hand.
"Let's just say some angels are willing to provide in exchange for some information," I explained as I opened it and spilled out the contents of it on the table.
"So you're snitching?" Belial asked and I instantly looked at him with furrowed brows.
"Not me. Someone though." I shrugged and I could see small sparkles in Belial's eyes as he began to get angry. "Nothing important though. Most of it is false. We're just lucky that some angels are genuinely stupid." I snorted as I took out a small flat card from my other pocket and began forming a line on the table. I heard Belial grumbling but he didn't say anything else. Suddenly, Loki pulled his chair closer to me.
"Hey... I want to try." He said and I frowned, locking my gaze with his and I saw pure enjoyment and curiosity. Well I couldn't say no. With a few swift moves, I made a line for him as well before looking at Beelzebub and Belial with a raised eyebrow.
"You two sure you are not going to join us on a trip?" I asked with a smirk.
"Screw it, let's go." Beelzebub suddenly spoke, a statement that caught me off guard, but pleasantly so.
"That's the spirit." I replied and glanced over at Belial who was still making faces in the corner. "Come on, don't be a coward. It's going to feel great, I promise you." I said with a mischievous smile after which he simply sighed and declared,
"Fine."
"...That's the spirit as well," I laughed before beginning to create a line for each one of them. However, if you want more, simply ask." I explained, and everyone nodded in understanding. We exchanged glances, anticipation hanging in the air, before simultaneously leaning over the table and snorting the lines all at the same time. We all leaned back into the chair and exhaled. "Now the party begins..." I mumbled.
