Eggs can talk apparently

ScarredHeart's POV

I walked into the nursery deep in the camp. I usually come here to cool down. It's quiet here and dark. Anyone could easily fall asleep in here.

I lied down to take a nap but my mind immediately went back to Shadowedmoon and the tree. I huffed in annoyance at the thoughts. My ears perked up when I heard the sound be mimicked.

I looked in the direction I thought I heard the noise amd huffed again. Once again, it was repeated. I walked towards the eggs. The noise seemed to be coming from there. I crawled over and made the noise again. This time the noise was more annoyed. I looked at the egg that was making the noise.

It was BlazingSun's egg. I stared at it for a while before letting out a huff. The egg moved a little and the huff was repeated but more annoyed. I looked around the den and back at the egg. I gently picked the egg and walked to another part of the den.

I placed it down on some moss and sat beside it. It was obviously annoyed by me. I probably woke it up. The egg rolled off of the moss towards me. I gently pushed it back onto the moss. It huffed and chirped at me.

I was confused and kept staring at it. It rolled towards me again. This time, I didn't touch it. I laid down(he's still in his panther form) in front of it. It rolled against my side and stopped moving.

I stood as still as I could. I felt the egg grow warmer, strangely. I gently poked it with my nose but it stayed in its spot. I curled my tail around the egg to see what would happen. The heat of the egg calmed down.

"Well, you're weird. I never knew eggs could talk. I thought you guys just sat there until it was time for you too hatch." I said to the egg.

In response, the egg rolled away from me. It rolled back towards me at a faster speed and hit my side. I laughed as I realized I made it angry. The egg huffed and settled down.

I heard footsteps stop in front of the den. I looked over and saw BlazingSun standing there. I didn't say anything and instead bowed my head. This was the first time I've met her alone. I didn't know what to say.

She walked over to me and looked at her egg. I followed her gaze and immediately sat to the side so that she could take it back. She smiled and laughed at me.

"Seems like my egg has taken a liking to you. I'm happy! You are her future mentor after all." She said with a smile.

I just nodded. I didn't even know what the cub would look like and I was already destined to be its mentor. I will have to know it almost as well as it knows itself. If we didn't establish a connection as soon as possible, the outcomes were endless! It could even result in one of us losing our lives.

Fluff's POV

Redfield and I walked in silence. It's been five hours since we left the camp. We had come to the river and were walking alongside it. The silence was fine at first but now it's unbearable.

"What happened in the camp?! Everyone looked at me like I killed someone! And you won't even look at me!" I said angrily.

Redfield stopped walking and turned to me. His eyes were filled with hate, betrayal, and disbelief. He stared at me for what seemed like forever before turning away.

"You'll be taking your leadership position earlier than expected. There is a prophecy that doesn't look very good for you. So, in hopes to stop it, when you get back to camp, the future would be changed." He explained.

"What do you mean "when I get back to camp"? You're coming back too! Right? I can't just randomly go back without you as the leader!" I was panicking. How could he just drop this on me right now?!

I heard him cough harshly. He laid down on the grass and panted. I slowly walked around him to so we would be face to face. I stopped in my tracks when I saw his face.

His eyes were bloodshot, blood was spilling out of his mouth and nose, his fur was falling off and losing its color. I dropped to my knees and reached into my bag. I pulled some herbs out and started to tear them up. Redfield put his paw on my hand.

"Don't. Those won't help me now and you have more important matters. Stay on this path for four more days. Once you've done that, turn back and go to camp. Don't tell anyone about what you see. You will win this war for us." I heard multiple howls and roars across the river. "Hurry and leave. Kill anyone or anything that gets in your way. Don't stop for anything. Now go." He said and rested his head on the ground.

I put the herbs back in my bag and reached to hold his paw. I was interrupted by something cutting the bridge of my nose. I looked to my right side and saw what looked like a spike made out of bone. I looked above me and saw multiple shadow creatures circling us. They were descending fast towards us.

I tried to shoot arrows at them but they dodged them all. I felt tears gather in my eyes. I got up and ran on the path Redfield and I were walking. I looked behind me to see the shadow creatures weren't following me. They surrounded Redfield's body. I watched what they were doing. They sat for a total of ten minutes.

They finally took to the sky again and flew towards their side if the river. I ran back to where I left Redfield's body. But instead, in its place was a maple tree sapling. I scooped some water from the river into my hands and dumped it on the tree.

"Goodbye, Redfield. You were a great teacher and father figure." I laughed at that last part. "I'll kill the people who did this to you. And I promise you, I will end this war one way or another."
