Chapter 8
The clock and Sophie went out of the living room as the enchanted object begins to do the tour of the enchanted castle.
"As you can tell, Ms. Blake, that everyone has a duty in this castle. It is the servant's duty to serve the Master with everything he needs.
It is very important to not to disturb him."
The girl was mesmerized of how the clock describe it, as that the clock seems to understand that it was her first time of seeing an enchanted castle.
"I take it that knowing this castle is indeed enchanted, it seems hard to believe, is it, my dear?" The enchanted clock asked.
The girl smiled, "Honestly, I still am shocked about all of it. Since this whole castle is enchanted, why you guys still in a curse after all these years?"
The clock stops in his tracks, as if that question shocked him. He never expected that she would ask him without any hesitation.
Although, it is Sophie that he had hoped for, the one to break the curse that plagued them for so long.
The enchanted object clears his throat, as the girl was awaiting for his response. "That, my dear, is a question to be answered in do time.
I know that everything seems like a compete mystery, but all of your questions will be answered, i promise."
The girl sensed that would satisfy her for the time being, as both of them continue on their tour of the castle.
Time continues on, as they venture into the rooms that Sophie hasn't seen before. "I guess there was a lot of rooms i never seen before. Your castle seems enormous enough to get lost."
The clock chuckled at the comment, as that she really seems to enjoyed herself, despite of her being curious.
"It's good that you are smiling at least. I know that you will be with your father soon enough."
Hearing about her father seems to be a long away, considering that the Beast did sent him away without giving her a proper goodbye.
"Maybe, i really do miss him. He is the only family i have left." Sophie replied, which made the clock's turn to be curious.
"Your only family, why do you say that, my dear? Don't you live with your mother?"
Sophie knew that it wouldn't be an easy thing to tell about her mother's passing, but she knew that she had to get it out of the open.
"Actually, my mother is no longer alive in this world. As I far I can remember, she was very sick, and can barely move from her bed.
My father did everything he could to help her, going to the village doctor, watching over us. By the time i was exactly eight years old, she just pass on."
Sophie shed a tear, remembering that memory, as that the Beast was eavesdropping nearby, as that it was his first time he ever heard anything about the girl. He tries to be quiet, but his footsteps became too loud, which startled the girl and the enchanted object.
"Master!" The clock exclaimed, as the girl seems to be shocked that he indeed listening, as that she ran into the hallway, as she closes the door to her bedroom behind her.
The object and his master exchanged looks at each other, as that the Beast asked, "Was it something i done to make her feel bad?"
The clock sigh, "I think you just surprised her. Give her some privacy, i am sure that she'll come around to you, eventually."
The Beast huffed, as walks away, angry but seems to be confused at the same time. He never knew how much that Sophie and him had suffered with loss.
Later in the night, Sophie couldn't sleep. It still kind of embarrassing that the Beast overheard the conversation between her and Cogsworth.
She decided to talk to the Beast alone. She muster up the courage to head into the forbidden room that she wasn't suppose to go to. The West Wing.
Her curiosity seems to be wavering as she really wants to see the mysterious room that the Beast forbid her to go.
She tiptoed as silently as she could, hoping the Beast wasn't there when she enters the room.
To her astonishing amazement, the room seems to be very dark, mysterious, as far she could ever seen before.
Sophie cautiously went inside to inspect the room for herself. All she saw was Beast's claw marks all over the room, as if he was still tormented by the curse that put on him over the years.
She stumbled into three portraits. One was the King and Queen of the Thorn Kingdom, which Sophie had heard in stories in the village. The King had brown eyes and light red hair, as his beloved wife, had green eyes and aqua hair.
Sophie can felt the warmth of the portrait, as she ventures to see the next one. It was with the royal family together and a single portrait of the prince himself.
His portrait must been torn up long ago, as the colors itself was fading away. The only visible thing that Sophie could see was the prince's beautiful eyes. As that the girl was indeed enchanted by the painting, something flashed into the girl's gaze.
The enchanted Rose still remains to the table with the enchanted mirror by its side, with its red reflections looming through the glass before her.
Sophie never expected to see such a beautiful flower as that she only images that she ever seen one was through the books she used to look.
As being self curious girl, Sophie went towards the aura of the rose, and gently lift the glass vase, as the rose was never touched.
The girl was about to touch the enchanted rose, the Beast has return to his quarters, as that Sophie gasps as the Beast snarls right at her.
"What you doing this late at night, and in my room?!?" He yells.
Sophie shivers at the Beast, as he gets mad, "Get out! Get out!"
The girl ran out out of the room, which the Beast realized how awful he was of scaring her without hesitation.
The girl, ran as the enchanted objects saw her going to the castle doors, Mrs. Potts said, in a worry, "Sophie, dear, it's too dangerous to be out there alone!"
But the girl didn't listen to her, as she closes out the door behind her.
The girl went to the stables where Phillip was residing, as that the horse sense that she needed some space from the castle.
The horse and girl ran into the cold woods, as that the girl seems to be calmer now, as that she needed it.
The girl sigh, as that she pats the horse, "Thanks for understanding, Phillip. I really appreciate it."
The horse smile in pride, as he knew exactly what his master needed. Sophie said, "I think we should head back to the castle. The whole household may be looking for us."
As the horse nods, he steps into a tree branch, as that they encounter a pack of wolves, snarling as they were hungry for a fresh piece of meat.
"A pack of wolves?!? Run as fast you can, Phillip!" She orders the horse. The horse didn't hesitant at the order, as the wolves begin to follow her.
The girl was scared, as the wolves continues to follow the hoof trails, as one of them begins to bite Phillip, as the horse scrambles in freight, as that Sophie was fallen off the saddle, and lands in the hard snow, as she was bleeding in her arm.
She didn't know what to do, as then with her pure surprise, the Beast had arrived in time, as he was shielding her from the pack.
The wolves snarled as they begin the attack on the massive beast. The Beast fought bravely, as that the wolves knew that he was indeed strong than them, as they fled the scene.
The Beast sigh, as that it was over, as he glanced over as he sees the bleeding arm on Sophie.
"We should head back." He said, as he hold Phillip's leash, leading the horse to the stables. The Beast seems to be annoyed that the girl disobeyed the only rule of the house.
"I still couldn't believe you went to the West Wing, which i said that it was totally forbidden." The Beast said, as that he pours hot water into a bowl aided by Mrs. Potts.
Sophie said, "Well, i wanted to talk to you, but you weren't around. Besides, if you didn't frighten me from your room, this wouldn't happen in the first place."
"Still, i told you it was personal!"
"Yeah, i get that, but you really need to stop behaving like a child, throwing tantrums! You really need to learn to control that emotion of yours!" She spats at him.
The Beast was astonished by Sophie's words. He never had a leture from anyone before, especially since his parents died.
Sophie winces at the bleeding arm, as that the Beast seems to be cautious about it. "Now, let me patch you up. It might sting a little. I promise to be gentle with it."
Sophie let out her arm, as that she looks directly at the Beast, "Um, there is something i want to say, thank you for saving me from that pack of wolves back there. You were pretty heroic and brave of you."
The Beast said, as the objects were amazed of the tone of his voice, "You're welcome. Sophie, i can escort to your bedroom if you like. You been through a lot."
"I like that." She replied.
Meanwhile, back at the village, Mr. Blake went back to his house to prepare himself to the journey to the castle.
"I knew that the village wouldn't believe a word i say. They are so scared of the unknown, but i knew it is true, all of it!
I will get Sophie back as long i breathe!"
He slammed the door behind him, unaware that Thora and Gaston along with their friend, Lumpy, came to visit the Blake house.
Thora picked the lock, as Gaston whistle, "I never knew you can pick locks like that. You're one talented girl."
Lumpy said, "Are you sure they are home at this late hour? I mean, it's very unusual that Sophie wasn't home."
"Sophie, Mr. Blake?" Thora asked, as her father scouted the area. The boy put his arms up, "Told ya that they weren't home. I guess your guys aren't lucky."
Thora picks up the boy, "Lumpy, they have to return at some time. I will give you a task. "
She violently pushed the boy, "You will stay in that spot until the Blake family returns to the village, do i make myself clear?"
The father and daughter left the poor boy in the cold snow, as that Lumpy sigh, "Well, i guess i have to improvise until then."
