Trigger warning: the trigger warning below. I will alert you.
The candle's wick hissed upon contact with the flames.
Eleni lit the candles one after the other but left the lantern untouched. The shadows in the room would be her friend since she would be alone for the night.
She gasped.
Strong hands brought her against a hard chest.
Soft lips gracefully drew a line from her shoulder to her ear.
This was his promise. And knowing that threw away the restraint she'd been holding on to mere minutes before.
She fell into his caresses and allowed him to take her to her modest bed.
Her underclothes settled around her right ankle, draped over Adris shoulder and back.
Adris was doing something to her with his tongue. He'd pass between the lips of her vagina and kiss the sensitive bud at the apex. The sounds coming from her we're unrecognizable. She dug her heels into his back muscles and clawed at the space above her head as he continued with no end in sight.
Lifting her self in her arms, she could look at the head of hair between her legs. He raised his head and their eyes met sending her stomach in a dance of frenzy.
He didn't smile, he didn't blink when he moved over her, his muscles and sinews moving as a big cat. She brought her legs to his waist.
Eleni fell on her back, her legs fell , refusing to break the contact of their eyes.
She wanted to remember this moment forever because he promised he'd be gone tomorrow.
His large cock sunk into her with calculated slowness.
Her mouth rounded in a soundless gasp.
He started slowly. His motion languid and at ease as if he wanted this to last till day broke.
His eyes twinkled and she knew he knew what he was doing to her.
A cry escaped her lips when he lifted her, their chest pressed against each other. She might have been crazy but she felt his heart beat; their heart was one.
They were no longer on her bed. He'd carried her to the window, fucking her on the sill.
He didn't care if they all saw. It seemed his madness was contagious because she didn't as well.
She'd been chosen by him and whether it was love or a good time she'd take it because a part of her needed this. A part of her missed him as insane as it was.
The morning sun pried her from the hands of sleep.
At some point in the night, Adris had moved her from the floor to the bed and had covered her.
Eleni looked around.
He was gone.
That was good. It was what she wanted him to do. It was what's she'd said.
The morning rituals weren't as they'd been. Not with the heaviness in her chest and the stinging behind her eyes.
It was stupid. Why did she want to cry?
She was stupid.
Her mind fought the irrational emotions and succeeded until the sun reached the highest point in the sky. Chores had been done without a tear but when she opened the door and her tears wouldn't stop by then.
She covered her face and fell to the ground and kept the worst of it pass her by.
She was stronger than this. Her lip quivered.
"I am stronger than this." She sobbed.
Hands enveloped her in a hug.
"You are." Adris said.
"Why are you here?" She pushed him away.
"I... I don't know." He lowered his head.
"What?" What he'd just said made no sense to her. Why would he be here if he didn't know.
It was his turn to ask the question "Why were you crying?"
In truth, she didn't know. It couldn't be because she'd been so stupid to feel strongly in for a man she'd know for only three days. She couldn't consider that reason because it would mean she'd learned nothing after having her heart toyed with. She'd fallen for Costas after one day of seeing him and now after three days of a man giving her some attention she was ready to throw her heart at his feet.
"If you had gone, I would be able to get over you." She quietly said.
He lifted her head with both hands,
"I don't want you to forget about me."
"So what do you want?"
"I want you to love me."
He must have gone mad.
"You've lost your mind. Why would you want that from me? Me?" She emphasized the last part.
"Why do you think?" He said with his mouth inches from hers.
She wasn't ready for the kiss that rocked her to the core of her being.
It'd been only hours and she'd missed his kisses already.
The kiss got deeper and Eleni fell further. She tried to hold herself back.
And the next few days she did. She braced herself for him to leave after he realized he was tired of her.
Days turned and flowers bore fruits then lost them and still Adris remained in her house, in her bed and by her side.
His world revolved around her and her's around him.
She'd never known happier days; her smiles lasted from dusk to dawn.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Stop it." Eleni said.
"You're so beautiful." He said.
Eleni giggled. "Don't let the men hear you or they'll think you're a loon."
She should have know from his wolffish smirk.
The next morning, he told everyone he met in town just how beautiful she was to him.
He was a loon and she a witch and they were fine with it.
"They're going to come to my house with torches and rakes to save you from me." Eleni giggled into his shoulder after receiving another odd look from onlookers.
"Horses couldn't drag me away."
Eleni couldn't help herself. She kissed him madly for the public to behold.
In her kiss she said, "look. I've found half my soul."
Tomorrow evening, she'd tell him the good news she'd been carrying.
Tomorrow came and did so without the sun.
Dark clouds covered the sky and the earth grew somber. The winds were heavy and the world was cold.
Eleni reached out for Adris and found his place empty.
She shivered.
She smelled nothing, not the aroma of food or the fragrance of fresh flowers.
Dying petals dropped over the jug on the table before her. A parchment laid next to it.
She beamed wondering which silly poem he'd created this time around.
This is goodbye.
Eleni read the simple line over and over again unable to comprehend the message on the sheet.
"Adris," she called, leaving in search of him.

She didn't scream. She couldn't hear herself scream over the howling of the storm's winds. The streets were empty save Eleni.
His message repeated in her mind and the meaning dawning on her the further she got into the storm.
He'd left her.
After he'd promised to always be by her side- she'd never asked or begged him to say that to her. But he'd lied and told her he loved her- the greatest lie of all.
The sharp pain cut through her abdomen like a rugged blade then she felt the wetness along her inner thighs and the thunder rolled thrice in succession unleashing heavy rains.
Eleni crumbled gripping her stomach and tried to stop the bleeding.
"Gods no. Zeus please." She cried but the storm swallowed her cries. No one would hear her.
