25.

His golden tresses gave way to her combing fingers.
Agnes languid motions eased the tension from his mind sending him on floating clouds of tranquility. Her voice resonated through him. He felt every vibration in his veins.
Days like these were what he stored in his memory when he laid on her lap and listened to her hum sweet melodies that teleported him into a world away from reality.
Worries were nothing so was the fierce fire in his heart.
Salt and metal stained his lips and seeped on his tongue. His lashes fluttered.
Her scarred face looked down at her with bloody streaks.
Her tongue unfurled the taste of her tears inside his mouth... a bitter sweet mixture.
When she parted, she caressed his face.
"I waited."

He slid his hand over her neck and he brings her head down again.
He thirsted for her kiss.
He missed her.
He missed this.
Her scent blossomed his his lungs and there in the sweeping meadow surrounded my dandelions, he wanted to take her and feel her slippery muscles tight around his cock.

Her breath brushed his lips,
"I never abandoned you but ..."

Someone roused him from his sleep.
"Adris."
Aphrodite bent over him.
"I never thought I'd see you smile again."

It'd been a dream. Ah! Only just a dream.
She didn't come to find him.

"Adris! Nessie!" Eros' shrill cry froze his heart.

Nessie?

"Whatever it is, he doesn't need to hear it." Aphrodite interjected, blocking Eros' path.

Eros never left his appearance this disheveled. His crimson eyes spurred Adris away from Aphrodite's barrier.

"I found her, Adris."

Found her? Cheating? That wouldn't warrant such a reaction from Eros.

"I was too late. She was gone."

"Gone. Where?" What were these riddles Eros spoke in? Adris exhaled in a huff.

"They killed her."

A herd of bulls would have made a lesser impact on his senses. His mind spun and his knees wobbled at the burden of Eros' news.

"Good riddance. Why should he care?" Aphrodite spat.

It simply couldn't hold any truth to it.
How could she be dead? Who had given her the permission to die when he suffered still from the agony of her betrayal. Who was he to exact his revenge on?
How dare she die?
It felt unreal. As though he was yet to awaken from his dream.
He felt his body sink to the ground and heard the blood curdling scream that reached Zeus at the peak of Olympus.
The anguish that oozed down his face was borne from his wounded pride and unfulfilled vengeance.
And the latter suffering that he experienced in the cover of midnight was birthed from a confession he was terrified would paralyze him for good.
Until they came to light, Adris would share his torment some other way.
All women who told lies would pay for Agnes' crime of breaking his heart. He couldn't forget those that killed her. They too would pay, dearly for their sin.
He would met out his judgement.
Death.
