~Adama~

I woke up with a terrible headache and feeling very nauseous,my eyes feeling really weak, probably for crying alot last night.

Suddenly a flash of what happened yesterday came running through my mind.. peter why are you treating me this way,what wrong have I done to deserve all this, upon saying this tears streamed down my cheeks and I felt like throwing up,I quickly run out side and threw up, I checked the time and it was 5:30am, I got out of bed to start up with my chores.

I want to finish up quickly and go to Anisa for her to help me plead with Peter, I hope he gives me a listening ear.

I finished all my chores and prepared breakfast as well, I went inside and took my bath then was just preparing to go to Anisa's, when she unexpectedly arrived.

"Hey girl" she said as she entered inside my room.

"Hi, you actually took me by surprise, I was dressing up to come to your place" I muttered.

" I heard about what had happened, so I just thought I should come and see you" she uttered.

" Anisa( I said in a shivery voice), Peter is refusing to take responsibility of the pregnancy" I said as tears started streaming down my cheeks uncontrollable..

"Adama, don't worry I will go with you to talk to him, who knows he might change his mind" she whispered to my ear as she hugged me tightly.

"Anisa thank you so much, I don't know what I would have done without you" I said as I sniffed.

"Adama wipe your tears, seeing you this way breaks my heart"she muttered as she pulled me out of the hug then used her hand and wiped my face dry.

" He keeps on saying he isn't responsible, that it is Kwesi's child, Anisa yourself bear me witness that Kwesi and I are only friends and there is nothing between us" I said as another set of tears started streaming down my cheeks.

" Adama it's okay, please stop crying, crying wouldn't solve the matter" she muttered as she hug me again tightly.
" I..I" she stopped me from uttering another word.

" Shhhh, it's okay" she said while continued patting my back gently.

" Get dressed and let's go and talk to him" she said as she pulled me out of the hug.

" Okay" I muttered as I stood up to finish dressing up.

Some minutes time I was done dressing up, we headed to Peter's house.

We reached his compound and knocked on his door but there was no response, so we decided to check at his backyard and there he was working on his little farm.

" Peter" Anisa called out.

" Yes, to what do I owe this early morning visit? He asked as he raised his brow with his hands akimbo.

" Peter why are you doing this to Adama,why are you making her go through all these emotional trauma? Why peter?" Anisa asked him

" Anisa, please stop making me feel like I'm the bad guy here" he uttered.

" Peter, why do you think I would bring another man's child for you to take responsibility,peter I swear to God that no man has ever seen my nakedness except you peter. Kwesi and I have nothing between us" I said as tears streamed down my cheeks.

" You see, she has told you the truth and I bear witness that there was nothing between she and Kwesi, please peter please take responsibility for your unborn child please" Anisa said as she held me into a hug.

" Please leave my house this minute"
I said leave my house!! He yelled at us.

" Peter I pray you realize your mistake soon" I said as I sniffed.

(We left his compound)

" Adama don't you think we should go and talk to his friend Eric, he might be of help to us in talking to him" she said as she raised a brow.

" Sure then, let's leave now" I sniffed.

Within no time we were at his compound..

Agoo!! Is anybody home!!

"Coming!!" We heard a voice from inside as we both heaved a sigh of relief.

" Eei Adama, I wasn't expecting you guys" he beseeched.

" Eric, please you're the only one I'm now looking upto, you are the only one who can help talk to Peter and he would listen" I said as another set of tears flowed down my cheeks.

" Adama, you know how stubborn peter could be sometimes, I told him several times that there is nothing between Kwesi and you, but he kept on being adamant. But all the same I will try my possible best to talk to him" he said as he gave me a re-assuring smile that everything will be put in place, just wipe off the tears okay.

" Thank you so much Eric, I really appreciate your efforts" I said as I sniffed then used my hands to wipe away the strains of tears.

" If anything I would let you know if he changes his mind" he said as he patted on my shoulder.

" Okay, thank you" I muttered..

" Thank me not dear" he uttered.

" I guess we should be leaving then" Anisa interrupted.

" Sure then, Adama please take care of yourself" he muttered.

" Talk later then" I managed to voice it out, hoping peter would listen to him..

We left his compound to Anisa's house
"Anisa do you know my stepmom gave me just two days,for the one responsible to appear, that if not she would be marrying me off to an old man" I beseeched.

"What?!,Anisa exclaimed as she continued. All this is because of peter, why is he trying to make things difficult for you , I wonder what he gains from being this wicked, such a wicked soul. I just wonder why you ended up with him" Anisa said.

" Anisa, he wasn't the guy I fell in love with, do you even know I found him sleeping with Chisom the last time I went to visit him" I beseeched.

" What!! Anisa exclaimed as she continued, you mean you found him sleeping with your sister and you did nothing about it, aah Adama you didn't even bother to let me know, abba Adama.

" After that alot had happened, so I just didn't have the time to tell you again. I'm so sorry.

" Is okay Adama, indeed you have a very good heart" she said as she pulled me into a hug, is okay to cry your heart out, while pattering my back gently.

I just cried my heart out till the tears wasn't coming again, then she helped me wipe my tears.

With hiccups I managed to tell her that I was going home to rest.

" Before you leave please have some water to stop this hiccups" she offered and brought the water and I took some few sips then handed it over to her.

" Thank You" I managed to say.

She escorted me half the way and offered to send me home but I declined saying I would go by myself,that she shouldn't worry..

" Adama, are you sure that you would be alright" she muttered.

" Yes dear, don't worry I would be fine" I said as I forced a smile.

" Okay then, please take care of yourself" she said as she gave me a hug.

" I would, bye" I said as I broke the hug.

As I went home, I did all my necessary chores then prepared supper. After that I went and took my bath, after I was done bathing I just put on my pajamas when suddenly I felt my phone vibrating, I quickly checked and the caller was Eric.

I heaved a sigh of relief hoping to hear good news, then I nevously slide to receive.

" Hello"

"Hi"

" Adama how are you" he asked.

" Hmm, I heaved a sigh as I continued.

Hoping to hear good news from you" I muttered.

He paused for some minutes before he continued" Adama, I have done all my possible best to make him change his mind but with all I said to him it all went in vein, I tried all I could but he was still adamant saying the pregnancy isn't his.

Upon hearing this, I became numb and tears started streaming down my cheeks as I ended the call.

Chisom and Anne came inside to sleep as well, I laid down but couldn't control my tears from flowing, I couldn't even sleep for about an hour or two I was lost in thoughts, is this how my fate would be to marry an old man, peter why are you treating me this way, when suddenly I felt a hand on me which quickly brought me back to reality.

" Please lets go out side, I wish to talk to you" Anne whispered to me, probably because she didn't want Chisom to hear what she had to say.i was still thinking if I should follow her outside, but then I decided to hear what she had to say.

As she tiptoe outside and I followed her.

" Anne what is it you needed to say" I muttered.

She hesitated for a while before she started to speak.

" I don't know why I'm doing this, hmm( she heaved a sigh as she continued) I know I haven't been good to you, but I am tired of seeing you cry.

Look this morning when Anisa and you went out, some men came this morning, maybe they are those mom is getting you married to, I can't just sit and watch your life being ruined.

Please have this money and leave this night, I have already packed your clothes for you. Please go far away from here.

" Anne thank you so much, I would forever remember this day, thank you" I said as we gave each other a goodbye hug.

"Please take care of yourself" she whispered into my ear..

She waved at me as I left to Anisa's house that night.
