I was washing my clothes at the backyard when I heard someone talking at the front door.

" Is anybody home!!"

"That voice sounds like Chisom,and  what does she want again this time, why can't she just leave me alone for goodness sake" I muttered in between my breath.

" Yes what is it this time round Chisom" I said as I kept my hands akimbo while staring at her.

“Why do you always behave this way when I come to meet you, are we fighting mmm?” she heaved a sigh while coming closer.

“Look Chisom, whatever that happened between us was a mistake, it was never meant to happen and it will never happen again, so please just leave me alone for goodness sake.

I have nothing to do with you again, so just try to flush whatever that is in your mind away” I said pulling her away from me.

“What!! (She exclaimed as she continued) what the heck do you mean by whatever that took place was an accident, so you mean you didn’t enjoy the fun that we had together?

Just answer me you fucking bastard, infact are you kidding me. No… you might be joking right?

“I’m sorry, I wish I was, but no.

You know it was never meant to happen, you forced yourself on me, I resisted but you made me to, I’m sorry we have to end it now and for all wai”.

“You must be joking, it's a lie I will never leave you alone” she said as tears gathered in her eyes.

“I can never be with someone who mingles with other men; you think I don’t know what you have been up to right? I asked as I raised a brow while my hands were akimbo.

“Look I want you to leave my house this minute!, please get out of my house now” I yelled at her while pointing at the door way.

“I will be back peter” she said as she was about leaving.

“Is this suppose to be a threat?” I asked as she halted.

“No peter it isn’t, I’m just telling you"

“Then we shall see about that, you cheap slut.

Get out of my house!!

She left as I went back to the backyard to continue with what I was doing.

After Eric came to inform me about Adama's and co shop, I haven’t seen him anywhere around here.

I will just finish washing these clothes of mine and go and pay him a visit.” I muttered to myself.

About twenty minutes time I was done washing the clothes, I quickly washed my face, arms and legs because I didn't feel like taking a bath.

I locked up the house then set of to his house, upon reaching he was sitting at the tree shade receiving some fresh air.

“Xup my guy”

“What is it you want in my house?” he asked while looking irritated.

“my guy is it what happened some days back? I asked as I wasn’t in need of an answer, look whatever happen that day had already happened.

He heaved a sigh as he continued,so you mean whatever that had happened I should forget it right, how wicked of you, look let me ask you this,have you gone to pay her a visit huh?! He asked as he was staring at me with his arms folded on his chest.

"Look, I..i, I was still talking when he cut me off

"Ooh no need to say it, I already know what you want to say,look my guy you made me bore you that day paa oo. I came to tell you what had happened instead of you being remorseful you were rather behaving nonchalantly, how wicked of you".

"Okay I'm sorry,but it's over between Adama and I, I don't feel anything for her again, please don't force me abeg"I said as I heaved a sigh.

"Well, if you say so because I can't force you. But  don't you ever forget that I told you please". he said as he raised his brow.

"Thank you" I muttered.

So what have you been up to all these while? I asked slightly changing the topic.

"Well nothing much, just that the children are really stubborn paa, my guy is not easy teaching these primary pupils but it's better than sitting idle at home.

My guy I told you to apply, at least you can be getting small small,but you keep on putting all your time in the little farming.
Apply for a teaching job okay! He said as he tapped on my shoulder.

" Okay, I will think about it,if anything I would let you know" I uttered.

" Please do" he cut in.

~Adama~

" Guys, I really do appreciate your visit,it meant alot to me" I uttered.

" Awwn, it is our pleasure visiting you, and infact all these visit was the idea of Kwesi,he said we should come and he will inform you about his travelling" Anisa muttered.

" Kwesi, that's so thoughtful of you, I'm really glad you informed me, like I would have been sad if you hadn't told me about your journey". I said in a teaser voice.

" You know I would never do such" he cut in.

" I must say it's a pleasure meeting you Kwesi, thank you so much" I uttered which made him to chuckle.

" So which time would you be leaving?" I asked.

" Well, I would be leaving at around 8am in the morning.

" Ooh that's okay then, I might come early to escort you to the bus station"
" Wow, really!!, But what about your business". He muttered.

" Ooh that one, no need to worry, I will carry it  and escort you, that way I might even be able to sell some at the station sef.

" Ooh okay then, that's nice,.he heaved a sigh as he continued, I wish you all the best dear.

"Thanks alot dear, I said as we reached their compound.

" Adama wouldn't you go back home? Anisa beseeched.

"Ooh don't worry, I'm here to help Kwesi do his packing" I uttered.

"C'mon you don't have to worry,after all his packing isn't something much" Anisa muttered.

" Don't worry, i insist on helping please" I cut in.

"Okay as you insist ( she smiled as she continued), Kwesi please did you do your last washing? If no then bring them so that  Adama and I would wash them, abi there is time for it to dry well.

" Kwesi smiled as he continued, no, I haven't washed yet.

" Akwesi!! Why do you always fear washing like that, so if I hadn't asked, you would have sent dirty clothes to school right?! Anisa exclaimed as Kwesi giggled shyly.

C'mon go in and bring them, l will go and arrange the items for the washing, Adama please let's go to the backyard" she said to me as I followed her to the backyard.

We arranged them and Akwesi brought his clothes to us.

"It's not even plenty sef" Anisa muttered.

" Really?!!, I just wonder why you ladies like washing like that" he exclaimed as he sat down to entertain us with talks, cracking of jokes and all the rest.

About an hour time we were done washing,then I helped in doing the necessary things.

" Guys, I think I should get going" I uttered.

"Awwn, Adama thank you so much for the helping hand" She said as she gave me a tight hug.

"C'mon, it's nothing, see you guys tomorrow". I said as I gave Kwesi too a hug.

" But let us excort you  home" Anisa beseeched.

" Don't worry, I would be fine, you just stay back and do the remaining arrangements okay.

"But let Kwesi escort you"she uttered.

" No, don't worry, Kwesi don't worry.

" Okay then, please take care.

"Sure I will" I waved as I left.

I reached home at around quarter past three, upon reaching I checked to see if my stepmom has returned, but fortunately for me she wasn't back yet. I heaved a sigh of relief.

I was about entering the house when I heard the sound of yellow yellow ( k3k3)then it stopped and I went and helped to unload the car, the driver helped me to place the load on the cemented floor.

She paid him, then the driver drove out of the compound.

" You're welcome ma" I said as she replied in low tone.

" Go and get me water to drink?! She requested.

" Okay Ma" I said as I rushed into the kitchen and fetch the water, then came and handed it over to her.

she immediately gulped it all then handed an empty cup to me, as I quickly went and dropped it at the kitchen.

Upon coming out Chisom and Anne came out from the room.

" Mama, you are back already" Anne beseeched.

" Yes my daughter" she muttered.

" Mama so which of the fruits did you buy?" Anne asked.

" Well, I bought oranges, pawpaw, banana and also watermelons." She replied.

" Adama go to the kitchen and get me some trays so I can allow air to get in" she exclaimed as I quickly went inside and brought them out, I placed it on the ground, then Anne helped to remove them from its sack.

All these while Chisom was standing by the wall with her hands folded on her chest, looking so intimidated as she heaved a sigh then quickly rushed inside.

We both looked at her with our mouths agape.

" Adama go inside and get me my food, I'm hungry" my stepmom broke the silence,as I quickly obeyed her.

I went inside the kitchen then fetched her food, then went and handed it over to her.

"Adama take the fruits to the store room" she said as she quickly fetched the food inside her mouth.

"Yes ma" I replied as I asked Anne to help me which she did.

"Adama!!"  My stepmom called me
"Yes I'm coming" I responded.

"Is the food still plenty?" She asked.

"Yes,it is ma" I replied as I nodded my head.

" Okay then since it is still plenty we aren't cooking this evening, I want you to go and fetch water since we don't have enough water left" she exclaimed.

"Yes ma" I nodded.

"I went inside the kitchen then picked up my jerrican then headed to the borehole in our area which is just a ten minutes walk.

I fetched the water about four rounds,I was now tired,it was almost late, so I decided to take my bath then ate my supper after that I went to bed, as I was laying down I didn't know the time the sleep came, so I just drifted to sleep.
