A Poet Without a Poem

A poem about poetry

Doesn't that sound a little insane?

Well, to you, it may seem so

But the jot it brings we, I do not feign

So, I'll write a little poem

About poetry itself

And all those rhymes and lyrics

I put upon a shelf

Stanza after stanza

My pen dances along

And even though my epics disconnect

They never say I'm wrong

My muse whispers in my ear

About glory and horror

Sadness and joy

Though, I do prefer the former

Maybe it's a vent

A way to release my cries

But, between math and my poems

I'd choose the pen a million times

And I'm not scared

I will never lie

And they will live on

Even when I die
