"Hey Dom , wait up" I hear my best friend Kyle shout to me.

Kyle and I have been best friends since we were pups. Once my dad passes the Alpha title down to me ,Kyle will become my Beta. Which is second in command to the pack.

Kyle has short dirty blonde hair with hazel eyes. He stands at my height which is 6'1. We are both very well built. We work out everyday.

The difference between us is I have brown hair and bright green eyes. His tan is also darker than mine. We are both 19 years old. Neither of us have found our mate.

"Hey Kyle ,what's up " I ask as he catches up to me.

" How are you feeling about tomorrow going to the Skylight pack to find out if your mate is there ?" He asked me. I shrugged my shoulders.

"I really am just going so my father can stop yapping about how I need my mate to be an even stronger Alpha to uphold our status of the most powerful and feared pack in the world. " He chuckled and slapped my shoulders playfully and we both took off in a Sprint to the pack training grounds.

As soon to be alpha I'm in charge of training since I have been trained starting at the age of 5. It is our law to train Alpha blood at a young age so we can maintain our legacy.

Everyone in our pack ,are strong ,healthy,active and fierce wolfs . Non-shifted wolf's all still train with the ones who have, so we can be strong in all aspects of our selfs. That's why I'm hoping to find a mate that is at least a very strong female mentally and physically ,so we can uphold this pack and make my father proud.

Kellys pov

It's the day after I have turned 18. I have met my wolf. Her name is Athena. She has become my escape from reality. She is here for me anytime my mother decide it is time for her to hit me. Any time the pack through insults at me.

Athena wants to snap tell them all off but I hold her back. I know it will just mean more abuse from everyone if we were to fight back.

To pass time we have been looking for our mate. Still haven't seen any sign of him. Athena has been upset since she can't have her mate yet,but me I'm actually excited it means that they aren't from this pack.

My dreams might be coming true of getting out of this hell. In the back of my mind I know it will never happen. I have been told many times, I'm to ugly ,to fat ,I don't deserve to be happy.

Athena whines at my thoughts ,which makes me frown . I don't want to see her upset but I can't hide my feelings from my self.

"We have to keep looking Kelly ,he has to be close ."

"Athena we have looked everywhere he isn't here ,so will you please stop so I can focus on getting this house cleaned. "

"Why must you continue what they tell you kel, let's just run away far away from here. We could actually find out mate " she says with so much hope.

I just sigh and block her out. I hate shutting her out but she keeps getting me off track.

Alpha Joe ,has tasked me with cleaning and stocking the guest house for the Blood Night pack.

That's what I'm currently trying to do. I am almost done with it all. The only thing is I keep having to do things over. Why you ask well ,some of the pack members thought it would be fun to get me in trouble by messing up the house to make it look like I haven't done what I was told to do.

This time though I have placed locks around the doors and windows so they can't get in.

I finish cleaning. So I run though the house to double check everything. I wanted to make sure that Alpha Joe wouldn't have any reason to get mad.

I finally leave the house. It's now 4 am. I'm beyond tired but know I still can't rest untill stuff at home is taking care of. I sigh and sag my shoulders as I make my home. I quickly get the house cleaned up and go straight to bed.

Today is the day that the Blood Night pack will be arriving. The whole pack as spent the past 3 days preparing for their arrival.

I have cleaned the guest house from top to bottom. It truely a beautiful house. It a 2 story house with 5 bedroom, 3 bathrooms , kitchen, dining room , living room ,and a conference room. The out side of the house is a cream color with a redwood front door and a wrapped around porch with a beautiful flower beds in front of the porch.

As I wait for Alpha to show up so I can show him around the house,I unlock and hide all the locks so he doesn't know I locked the house.

He finally arrive's, I bow my head and say Alpha to show him respect. We enter the house ,I show him around the house and he has the look of approval on his face. I couldn't help but feel proud I actually did good for once. I prayed that he would not beat me today since I did everything I was asked.

My dreams were soon crushed. As we came into the pack house,alpha turned to me and said that is was time for me to get a beating to insure I didn't show my ugly face at the party tonight. He slammed me in to the wall and grabbed my throat and punched me across my face.

I bit back the scream that wanted to come out. I knew better then to make a sound. If I did my beating will only last longer. Once he finished punching every inch of my body he threw me out the back door and said

" Now get out of sight you ugly worthless bitch" after he finished he slammed the door shut.

I was in a lot of pain but I was healing thanks to my wolf Athena.She truely is a amazing wolf. I'm not sure what we will look like cause we don't actually shift till we meet our mates and they are the ones to help us through our first shift.

"Athena,thank you for healing us and not leaving me." I said to her through our connection.

"Kelly I will always be here for you no matter what we are in this together. I'm sorry I couldn't heal you before when those bastards would do this to you but I promise i'm here and will do everything in my power to protect us." She said in her sweet voice.

"I don't know what I did to deserve a wolf like you thank you Athena" I reply as I silently cried.

" You were your self Kelly, remember that no matter the situation you find your in you have a heart of gold,you are strong , beautiful,a kind soul. We will make it out of this hell just hold on a little longer Kel ,our mate will save us,I promise "Athena said before she cut the connection and went to the back of my mind.

I got up and made my way through the forest and down to the open area and to the path that leads to my secret spot. Once I got there,I got under my tree and looked up to the sky and watched the clouds form shapes to past the time.

Dominic pov

We have arrived at the Skylight pack. Once the suv stops me ,Ky , my dad ,his beta and ky dad Liam ,get out and we greet the Skylight pack Alpha Joe his Beta Zack and Luna Lisa and son Jarred.

"Hello Joe it's good to see you , thank you for having us and giving my son permission to search for his mate " my dad says and shakes Joe's hand.

" My pleasure alpha mark I wish Dominic the best of luck finding his mate and hope she is from my pack." My dad nods and I ask,

" So where will we beging staying while we are here ?"

"Right , you all will be in our guess house so you can still have your privacy as well as a place for when and if you meet your mate so y'all can get to know each other and determine if y'all will accept each other. " He says as he walks around the pack house and points to the house behind the packs house.

"Thanks Joe we will talk soon , once we are all settled in. Do you mind if I go for a run on you lands and explore a bit, my wolf is itching to get out" I ask Joe.

" Of course Dominic."Joe reply's.

With that I take off in a run towards the forest once I am in the cover of the trees ,I strip down and shift in to my pure black wolf with bright hazel eyes. I shake my fur out and then ask my wolf Bry if he wanted control and he took control and we were off .

We dash through the forest passing big oaks and pine trees jumping over falling trees and then we come to an open area ,once there my wolf Bry looks up to the sky as if he is sniffing for something. That's when I smell it .

It's the most amazing smell I could imagine , it smells like vanilla & strawberries. My wolf takes off as fast as he can towards a path . We come out of the forest and see the most beautiful site ever, a water fall is across from us and a crystal clear lake infront of me.

While I'm looking at the view my wolf sniffs again and our head snaps to the right to see a beautiful but scared looking  girl backed up against a willow tree as far as possible.

We notice she looks like someone has choked her. She looked beaten up. It wasn't really visible but you can see she was healing. It pissed both me and my wolf off to see it.

We walk up to her slowly. We sniff again and nuzzle our snout in her neck in haled her scent. Her scent instantly calming us down.

I quickly go behind the tree and shift back and once I come around I see the girl slowly getting up. I walk up to her and look her in the eyes and whisper

"mate "
