(((Once again this chapter is a bit short, but I promise a lot more is coming very soon :) )))
Soon enough the two men sit in the old car they'd taken home. Mark driving and Jack in the passenger side. An awkward tension between the two.
Every time the green haired man tried to look over, his pale cheeks flushed red and he had to look away again, so instead he focused his attention out of the window, only piping up when Mark needed directions, which wasn't often.
After they'd driven for about ten minutes Mark finally speaks up, unable to stand the tense silence anymore.
"Sean... Are we going to talk about it?"
The red haired man asks, brown eyes glancing over to the Irish man who tensed up slightly at his voice. Jack sucks in a breath, forcing his blue eyes to look at the man, ignoring when he felt his cheeks heat up.
"I...It was... I didn't..."
Jack stutters, struggling to form a complete sentence. The Irish man groans at himself, silently facepalming and forcing all his thoughts on what he wanted to say.
"It wasn't anything... It was just... a stupid mistake..."
The green haired man explains quietly, blue eyes moving away unable to look at the man. Mark's brown eyes travel to him, almost a bit of pain shining in those chocolate colored orbs.
"Right... That's what I thought..."
The red haired man mutters in response, trying and failing to hide the hurt that entered his deep voice. The two men fall into silence once again, Mark focusing on the road, and Jack staring down, playing with his hands in his lap, seeming as though he wanted to speak, but was unsure of what to say.
Of course it wasn't a mistake, Jack knew what he was doing, and he was happy he did... But how did he explain it to Mark?
"Mark..."
The Irish man speaks up after another few minutes, clutching the fabric of his pants tightly in his fists.
"I..."
He starts before clenching his eyes shut, simply letting his mouth run.
"It wasn't a mistake... I'm sorry it's just I..."
He continues, forcing his head upwards, and forcing his glazed ocean blue eyes to look at the red haired man, who listened intently.
"I like you okay?.... Like... A lot..."
Jack mutters shyly, his pale cheeks burning a deep red. Mark's hands clench the steering wheel tighter, and a small, almost smile brushes his lips.
His brown eyes move over to the smaller man, who averted his gaze out of embarrasment, his face a dark red, nearly matching the color of Mark's hair. It was pretty adorable.
"Sean... I like you too..."
The red haired man admits quietly, his own cheeks burning a light pink color. Jack's blue eyes look up in surprise, looking into the chocolate brown eyes of Mark happily.
"R-Really?"
He asks softly, mouth curling into a smile when Mark nodded in response. Jack turns forward again, his cheeks still tinted red though a smile plastered onto his face.
"Once this is all over with... Maybe we can get dinner or something."
Mark suggests quietly, only making the Irish man smile more and nod excitedly. A silence falls over the car again, though this time not tense, just a calm, comfortable quiet.
That is until Jack speaks again, having been lost in his thoughts for a while, his smile having faded.
"Hey Mark... I need to ask you something..."
He begins softly, sucking in a breath before he contined.
"Why doesn't it bother you that i'm a monster...? You're so calm about it..."
He asks quietly, the question having burned at the back of Jack's mind for a while now, though he didn't know how to ask it. Mark sighs, brown eyes looking over to the Irish man for a second before to the road in front of them once again.
"Well... I don't think you're a monster..."
He states simply, deciding to continue when Jack continued to stare at him.
"Sure you're different... And I would normally consider you a monster... but you're different...."
He continues shrugging his shoulder gently.
"You're kind, sweet, and honestly less of a monster than I am... Of course you've killed, but it's not your fault... I trust you Sean... And I trust that whatever you do, you do for a good reason."
He finishes simply, brown eyes moving to the man again. Jack looked down, listening to those words intently. Mark trusted him, he didn't think he was a monster. This thought alone makes happiness flutter in Jack's chest.
Before Jack can reply they pull in front of the mass of trees where Jack had directed him to go. The Irish man doesn't reply to Mark's earlier statement and simply climbs from the car, Mark following suit. Each of them grabbing a small bag with their neccesities.
The green haired man leads them through the thick brush, his green hair nearly blending in with the plants around them.
The two walk for nearly ten minutes, Jack barely seeming affected by the exercise. Finally Jack stops in a small clearing, his blue eye scanning around before he turns, looking at Mark almost apologetically.
"Sean-"
Mark begins only to be cut off as Jack shakes his head, blue eyes apologizing as he spoke his next words.
"Mark... I'm sorry... But it's for your own good... This way we can be together."
The Irish man speaks softly, voice leaking with a bit of guilt, though that mixed with joy. Mark opens his mouth to question what he meant, but a hard object hits his head, and the world around him instantly goes black.
