THIRTEEN

Beth was pulling Semet along the way to Polis as Octavia was on the horse. "When osir ge kom polis. Yu will answer kom heda leksa en nou me. Yu laik lucky, mebi em'll don mercy ona yu." Beth says to the man.

"Chit ste a skai raunon kom tel me chit ai own heda will do? yu're nothing ba a skai raunon chon needs kom be gone kom disha world." The man spits out at her. Beth glares at the man.

"Ai laik your heda second, yu idiot. Heda leksa knows chon ai laik. Ai fought kom her gon months en yu will respect me. Ai nou care chon yu think yu laik. Ai nou agree kom chit the space kru laik doing, en ai laik trying kom gonplei back gon the ones responsible." She explains to him.

The man looks back at her. "You laik Beth Kom Skaikru?"

"Sha, Ai laik." She answers before pushing him to walk closer. She looks over at Octavia. "Are you okay?" She asks her.

Octavia looks over at her. "We're going to war with our own people. Of course I'm not. But we need to do what's needed to be done."

Beth nods at her before looking back in front of her but before another word could be spoken by her, darkness surrounded her.

Lexa stood in the throne room, addressing the younger nightbloods. Slight worry filled her as she knew Beth should have been here by now but she couldn't think about that as she spoke to the nightbloods. "We gather here on this Ascension Day to honor the Commanders that came before me, those who live on within me, as I would live on within one of you."

Sudden shouting stopped Lexa from continuing her speech as Grounders walks inside the throne room, Semet being one of them as two girls had sacks over their heads. "The Flamekeeper promised we would be heard!" Semet says to the Commander.

Lexa turns to look at Titus, asking."Titus? What is this?"

"Something you need to hear, Heda." Titus answers as two Grounders push the two girls forward, taking off the sacks from their heads.

"Beth! Octavia!" Clarke exclaims, noticing cuts on the girls faces. Lexa glares at the men as she sees Beth tied up.

"Forgive me for intruding on this holy day, Commander. I am Semet of Trikru and I come seeking justice." Semet says to the Commander as Beth glared.

"Explain yourself. Why do you hold Octavia Kom Skaikru and Beth Kom Skaikru prisoner?" Lexa asks. "Beth Kom Skaikru is my second, why is she tied up?"

"They are prisoners of war, Commander- brought here to bear witness to the crimes of their people." Semet says. Beth glares at him as she tries to undo the ties she has around her back.

"What crimes? What happened?" Clarke asks them.

"Skaikru attacked their village." Titus answers. "Cause their warriors were lost and your people massacred the army we sent to protect you, their village were defenseless."

Semetlooks up at Lexa. "Please Commander. I beg you. Avenge us."
Grounders start chanting, "Jus drain jus daun!"

Titus looks at them."You will respect in this chamber!" He says. Beth sighs, feeling slightly lightheaded as she was on her knees next to Octavia. Octavia looks over noticing Beth's facial expression, giving the girl a concerned look. Beth just nods at her, as if saying she was fine.

Lexa has her raised to quiet the Grounders. "Today I call upon the armies of the 12 Clans to march on Arkadia." Beth eyes widen at the woman's words. She was now not tied up, standing next to Lexa's throne. "Not to attack, but to contain. We will blockade the 13th Clan. We will keep them from the lands they wish to possess. We will give them time to take out their leaders from within. Once they rise up against them, then we will welcome them back as one of us."

"You heard the Commander." Titus speaks up. "Send riders. Tell your armies to set up a buffer zone around Arkadia. 5 miles should be enough to keep them away from our villages." Titus explains to them all before looking at the commander. "What are their orders, heda?" He asks her.

"Any Skaikru caught outside the line will be subject to a kill order." Lexa tells them all. Beth, Clarke and Octavia all share a shocked look.

"Heda, I do not understand, how is this vengeance?" Semet asks her.

Lexa shakes her head. "That is not vengeance, my brother, this is justice."

Semet grows angry. "Skaikru killed my son, and my brother, and my wife!" He exclaims. "The steer of the Commander will not protect us! Then what will!"

Titus looks at the man."You mind yourself, Semet."

Semet rushes towards the commander, "Death to the Commander!" Titus rushes towards him as Beth draws her sword, watching as Semet and Titus fought as the former tried to reach the Commander.

Titus stabs Semet, killing him. "Blood must have blood." Titus says to the man.

Beth walked into Lexa's bedroom, looking around. "Heda?" She calls out. Lexa walks out from a back room, looking at Beth.

"Beth?" She asks, slightly confused on seeing the strawberry blonde girl there, in her room. "What is it?"

Beth sighs before asking. "Are you really going to kill anyone if the step foot outside the walls?"

"I need to do what's needed to be done, Beth. You know that." Lexa tells her. Beth nods, still feeling lightheaded. She leans on a small table. "Are you okay?" Lexa asks her.

Beth nods once again. "Yeah. I'm- I'm fine." She says, standing straight up. Lexa grabs a cup of water from next to the bed, handing it to Beth. Beth gives her a slight smile, drinking some of the water.

"What's going on with you? For the past few weeks, I've noticed you sick." Lexa tells her.

"I'm sick. That's all." Beth replies but Lexa looks unsure.

"Beth, if there is something else going on, you need to tell me." Lexa says to her second.

Beth sighs, shaking her head lightly. "I don't know what's going on. But at first it was me getting dizzy and throwing up. Now it's me being lightheaded and tired all the time. I don't know how to explain it." Beth tells the slightly older girl.

Lexa nods, having a feeling of what it could be. "Before you leave, see a healer." Lexa tells her. "They may know what is wrong."

"We leave in less than an hour. I don't have time to see a healer." Beth tells the woman.

Lexa sighs. "I will send one to Arkadia, make it known that you are the only one allowed outside of the walls at anytime." She tells Beth.

Beth nods. "Thank you Lexa." She smiles at the Commander, getting a small smile back.

"Yu laik won gon osir Beth Kom Skaikru. Osir teik care gon out kru, except emo chon've wronged osir. Yu don nou wronged osir Beth. En yu hopefully nowe will." Lexa says to her.

Beth smiles. "You know I never would think about wronging you, Heda. You or the other 12 clans. Or my own clan. I give you my word."

Lexa smiles at her. "Good." Lexa says to her.

Beth and Clarke stood in Clarke's room, looking down at the people all below. "She told you, you could stay, didn't she?" Beth asks Clarke.

"Yes, she did." Clarke answers, not taking her eyes off of everyone down there. The door opens up causing the two girls look over, seeing Octavia walk in.

"She told you, you could stay, didn't she? What did you say?" Octavia asks Clarke as she walked to the two girls.

"Nothing." Clarke replies. Beth sighs.

Octavia sighs. "Clarke, we both know that Pike won't obey the blockade. We need to stop him before more of our people get killed."

"What if I could do more for them by just staying here?" Clarke asks the two girls, looking at them.

"You can't Clarke!" Beth says to her. "I cannot stay either and that sucks but we need to go."

Octavia nods, agreeing with Beth. "We don't have time for this! Look, we need you. The kill order goes into effect at dawn. You both have an hour to say your goodbyes." Octavia says and looks at the blonde girl. "If you're not there, you're not the person I thought you were." Octavia walks out of the room leaving Beth and Clarke in the room.

"I know you wish to stay and so do I but we can't, Clarke. We need to go." Beth tells her. "Look, you have an hour and then meet me back here." Beth tells the girl. Clarke nods at her before she leaves the room.

Beth layed on the table, looking up at the healer Lexa had sent her to. "So do yu know chit's wrong?" She asks the man.

"Nou everything, ba yu need kom teik em easy. When yu go back kom arkadia, nou odon work yourself. Rest easy, beth. Nou do a lot taim physical activity." He tells the woman. "In three days time, with the Commanders blessing, I will go to Arkadia and check with you."

Beth nods at him and gets off the table, standing. "Mochof fisa." She says to him. She grabs her swords from the other table next to them.

"Be klir ona your journey houm, Heda's seken." He tells her. Beth smiles before leaving the room.

Beth stood outside, looking for Octavia. "Beth!" A voice says and makes her turn her head. She sees Octavia and and Indra. She quickly walks over to them. "Where's Clarke?" Octavia asks her.

"I'm on my way to get her. Do not leave without me, even if I'm late." Beth says to her. She looks over at Indra. "I'm happy to see you better." Indra nods at her as Octavia speaks up.

"Hurry up." Octavia says to Beth.

"I'll be back soon, I promise. Keep Helios with you." She says, pointing to her horse that was next to Octavia and Indra's.

Octavia nods at her. "I will. Just be safe and hurry." Octavia tells her. Beth nods before rushing back to the tower to find Clarke.

Beth sees Clarke leaving Lexa's room. Beth smirks lightly. "Did you and Lexa finally hook up?" She asks the blonde. Clarke looks at her wide eyed. "I've known there was something going on between you two since Tondc. I'm not stupid Clarke, though. I always thought you and Bellamy would have something going on. Maybe someday." She says. Clarke shakes her head, laughing quietly at the redhead.

"You are terrible." Clarke says to her. Beth smiles. "C'mon, have you packed your clothes?" She asks Beth. Beth looks at her, shaking her head. "I'll help you pack quickly." Clarke says and the two go to Beth's room.

After getting Beth's stuff, Clarke and Beth walked back to Clarke's room. "Murphy?" Beth asks as she and Clarke walked into Clarke's room, getting the girls stuff. The two saw John strapped to a chair, unconsous.

Beth jumps at the sound of someone's voice. She looks over and sees Titus. "He's alive."

"What did you do to my friend?" Beth asks him, holding a hand on her sword.

Titus walks closer. "Your friend was caught stealing from people on their way to the Polis market."

John starts to wake up. Beth sighs in relief, untying him. "Hey, you're okay." She says, giving the Murphy boy a light smile.

"Please don't do that." Titus says to Clarke as Clarke began to help Beth untie the Murphy boy.

Titus shows Clarke and Beth the gun he is holding. Beth's eyes widen. "Titus, what is this about?" Beth asks him.

"I'm sorry it had to come to this Clarke. Truly I am." He says to the blonde, ignoring Beth, not wanting to hurt the Heda's Second.

"Look. I'm leaving right now." Clarke tells Titus. "Octavia is waiting for me and Beth. Just let me take Murphy and we'll go."

Titus shakes his head. "I wish I could. Lexa would never execute her duty if you live."

"Hey!" Beth says to him as he holds up the gun towards Clarke. "Titus, think. She is gonna know it was you." She tells him, not wanting anyone to get hurt.

"She'll think it was him." Titus says. "Skaikru weapon in the hands of a Skaikru thief. She might be angry enough to declare war!" Titus tells the two girls. "Beth, please leave. I do not want to hurt you."

Beth shakes her head. "Titus, please, this does not have to come to this!"

Titus shakes his head. "Beth, it does." He tells her then shoots towards Clarke. Beth ducks down behind the chair with Murphy. Titus shoots at Clarke multiple times, missing.

Clarke rushes to the door, as it opens, revealing Lexa. Beth's eyes widen as she sees Lexa standing there. "Lexa!" Beth yells.

A bullet hole is seen through Lexa's shirt, black blood dripping down her shirt.

"Heda...No, no!" Titus says, rushing to Lexa. Lexa collapses on the floor.

"Help me get her to the bed!" Clarke says as Beth grabs Lexa along with Clarke and Titus. The three place Lexa on the bed.

Clarke looks at Titus. "I need something to stop the bleeding!" She says before looking back at Lexa. "You'll be okay. Just lie still, okay. Lie still."

Lexa laid there, struggling to get the words out. "Don't be afraid." Lexa says. "Both- both if you." She looks at Beth.

"You're gonna be fine. Just stay still." Beth tells her, even though she wasn't sure. Titus opens a kit from his rode.

"She's losing too much blood." Clarke says. "Stay with me..." She says to Lexa. "What the hell is that?" Clarke asks Titus as she notices what he was doing. Beth looks over and sees. Beth sighs, knowing what he was doing. "Titus, what are you doing?" Clarke asks him. She looks back at Lexa. "I will fix you, just stay with me." Titus tries to go towards Lexa, Clarke pushes him away. "Oh no, get away from her!"

"Forgive me, Heda." Titus says to the Commander as Beth has a few tears run down her face.

"You will never again attempt to harm Clarke." Lexa says to Titus in Trigedaslang. "Swear it."

"I swear it." Titus tells Lexa.

"Then do your job." Lexa tells him. "Serve the next as you have served me, Flamekeeper."

"Hey, don't you dare give up." Clarke tells Lexa.

Lexa shakes her head. "I'm not. My spirit will live on."

"No. I'm not letting you die. Beth's not letting you die!" Clarke tells her.

"There's nothing you can do now." Lexa tells her. "The next Commander will protect you."

"I don't want the next Commander. I want you." Clarke cries. Beth's tears escape her eyes, falling down her face as she watched.

Lexa grabs Beth's hand. "You will fight. And you will fight with no mercy. You are brave Beth Kom Skaikru. You're a warrior. Never let that leave you. Do not fall weak from the enemies. Continue your fight." Beth nods at Lexa.

"Dula op nou bakon down, kik raun gon gon those chon yu have lost. Yu gon a gona, Beth Kom Skaikru. Be gon brave heda ai get in yu gon." Lexa tells her. "Dula op nou slip daun kwelen kom gon enemies." Lexa says to her. Beth nods at her, frowning lightly. "Taim eni diyo would gon laksen gon natblidas, yu kom au gon nes heda, en gonplei glong op my spirit en gon ones fou ai. Promise ai Beth Kom Trikru."

"I promise." Beth says, nodding. "I promise."

Lexa smiles lightly, looking over at Titus. "Teik Beth bants gon battle. Dula op nou hod op em." Titus nods at her, knowing that he wouldn't keep Beth here if she wanted to leave. "Huk op flame gon Beth." Titus gives the commander a confused look. "If- if the- spirit- if the spirit doesn't choose. Huk op flame gon Beth." Titus nods at her as Beth looks at her confused.

"I'm ready, Heda." Titus says. Titus dips his fingers in Lexa's blood, running the blood on his forehead, getting ready for the ritual.

"Clarke-" Lexa says.

Clarke rushes back over to her as Beth moves slightly away.

"I'm here." Clarke says to her, grabbing her hand, nodding his head.

"Mi gonplei ste odon." Lexa says to Clarke.

Clarke shakes her head, tears in her eyes. "No. No, no I won't accept that."

Lexa faintly smiles at her. "You were right, Clarke. Life is about more than just surviving." Lexa says with tearful eyes. The light leaves Lexa's eyes, causing Beth to let out a sob, holding a hand to her mouth as tears fell down her face. John, after getting untied, walked over to her as she was about to lose balance, grabbing Beth, holding her in his arms as tears fell down her face.

"In peace, may you leave the shore." Clarke says, crying as she spoke. John, Titus and Beth look at the blonde. "In love, may you find the next. Safe passage on your travels, until our final journey on the ground. May we meet again. Clarke kisses Lexa goodbye. Lexa dies with Clarke crying, heartbroken by her side.

Titus moves back over to Clarke and a now-dead Lexa. "I must complete the ritual." He tells Clarke, who sobs on Lexa's chest. "Please. The Commander's spirit must be passed on." He says to Clarke. "This is my purpose. You must allow me to complete the task. It is what the Commander wanted."

Clarke moves back to Beth and John. Beth moves out of John's arms, tears still running down her face as John spoke. "Come on, we should go." He tries to grab Clarke's arm but she moves away from him.

"Your fight is over, Leksa of Trikru." Beth says as Titus starts the ritual.

"The Commander's fight goes on." He says.

"What are you doing?" Clarke asks as Titus turns over Lexa to reveal the infinity symbol on her neck.

"The sacred symbol." John says, recognizing the symbol. Beth notices the symbol Lexa has shown her before, frowning lightly. There was a slit on Lexa's neck. Titus takes a knife and reopens the scar.

"What are you doing?" Clarke asks him.

"His job." Beth says to her, grabbing Clarke's arm, holding her there before Clarke can move Titus away. "Oh my god."

"What the hell?" John asks as the four watch something with long legs come out of Lexa's neck. Titus takes it in his hands.

"What is that?" Clarke asks Beth and Titus. Titus mutters in Trigesdasleng.

"It's an A.I." John says.

Beth shakes her head as Titus speaks up. "Wrong." He says. "It's the spirit of the Commander." Titus places the chip inside a box. Titus picks up Lexa and calls upon the guards in Trigesdasleng. "Beth, you may leave now and fight, as Lexa wanted for you." He tells her.

Beth nods, placing a kiss on top of Lexa's forehead, tears still on her face. "May we meet again, Lexa."

Guards open the doors and Titus walks forward. "Let the conclave begin. The Commander is dead. May her spirit choose wisely. Let Beth Kom Trikru leave." Titus nods at Beth, who nods back at him, respectfully.

Beth looks back at Clarke and John. "I must stop this war. Pike will pay and so will the rest of them." Beth says before leaving the room, the guards shutting the doors behind her, locking John and Clarke inside room. Murphy tries to open the door as Clarke stares at Lexa's blood on the bed.

Beth walked down the hall, her face stone cold, anger and sadness seeping through her veins. She was angry, angry at Titus, at Lexa for dying, she was angry at Pike, she was angry at herself. But she's turning the anger into revenge and she will get her revenge durning battle. She knew all hell was going to break loose. And she would kill those responsible at Arkadia for the masacres. No matter who she had to kill.

So that all happened. I'm crying. So for those of you who are going to ask what the hell Lexa said to Beth, I'll put it down below. Anyways, what do you guys think of this episode/chapter? It kinda broke my heart. Lexa obviously saw Beth as family/a really good friend and that's why she called Beth part of the Trikru Clan, and she is. Beth is apart of the Trikru clan because of Lincoln and Lexa. And I wish they could all just become one big happy family, but obviously that won't happen. These deaths within the next few chapters will change Beth (not exactly how Octavia changed) but she will change somewhat. Anyways, please comment on this chapter and tell me what you think!!

I have fought with her for months and you will respect me. I do not care what you think of me. I do not agree with what skaikru is doing

-Dula op nou slip daun kwelen kom gon enemies. She's basically telling Beth not to fall weak to her enemies. Don't let them win the fight.

-Taim eni diyo would gon laksen gon natblidas, yu kom au gon nes heda, en gonplei glong op my spirit en gon ones fou ai. Promise ai Beth Kom Trikru. Lexa is telling Beth that if something were to happen to any of the nightbloods, she wants Beth to become the next Commander. And she wants Beth to fight with the Commanders spirit (of Lexa's and the ones before her).

-Huk op flame gon Beth. She told Titus to give the Flame to Beth. Lexa trusts Beth enough to be the next Commander and be the leader that the grounders need now that Lexa is gone. (Even if she doesn't have night blood)

-Teik Beth bants gon battle. Dula op nou hod op em. Lexa wants Titus to let Beth leave and fight for her people and do what she knows Beth is capable of doing and her fighting. (And I'm going way to into detail but whoops)
