Chapter Three

Seán's POV

We had made it to the orange clans village and sighed, Dark was still passed out and Felix had stayed quiet the whole walk. Glancing around I saw the village healer so I motioned over to them. Felix just nodded and carried Dark inside as I followed behind him. An older woman greeted up and she agreed to look him over for free. I had followed her in the room she took him to as Felix flirted with the nurse in training at the desk.

She laid him on the table and undid his shirt again and undid my makeshift bandages. Looking over the makeshift stitches I did she smiled and nodded

"Very impressive work for such a young fellow...are you training to become a healer?" I shook my head.

"I am a wandering sales person. I learn from the people I meet and trial and error." She nodded smiling.

"Well your friend here will be just fine. Don't forget to wash the area with clean water and redo his bandages every week or so." I smiled.

"What is your name?" She asked

"Seán" I said unconsciously

Her eyes looked up and looked over my hair. A small smile appeared and I groaned.

"You gave up your position as a leader for a wandering sales person?" Her red hair peeked through her shawl

"I am indeed the leader of the green clan. And it just so happens that the son of the outlaws is right on the table" her face fell and looked at Dark with sadness in her eyes.

"My son! My beautiful baby boy!" Tears welled up in her eyes

I backed off as she threw herself on Dark and started sobbing into his chest.

Dark's POV

I felt pressure and an odd numbness on my chest and groaned squinting my eyes. I sat up a bit and looked down seeing an older woman on my chest crying. Growling I went to throw her off until I realized it was the healer and lowered my hand.

"Hello." I looked down at her.

She looked up at me "my son...my Mark..." I looked at her confused.

"I believe you confuse me for someone else..." Seán shook his head.

"She is your mother." I scoffed.

"She belongs to the red clan. Impossible." She started to cry more heavily

"Dark. When you were only first born the outlaws stole you after they had a miscarriage and touched the claiming pillar." I held my tongue

"Do you have proof?" She pulled out a letter written by my father.

To whom it may concern,

We are truly sorry for the fuss. We will not however return him. He has been claimed as our own and now bears our colors. It is no doubt one day he will seek you out after finding out, but until that time comes all letters to and from my territory will be banned.

Sincerely,
Michael Doom.

I looked up my mouth hanging open and a cold look in my eye. My mother sat looking at me with a tear stained face, silently begging me with her eyes. I ran a hand through my hair and started hyperventilating.

"I'm not the....I....." I got up quickly with the letter and walked outside with the shouts of my mother and Seán behind me.

Felix blocked my exit and I growled dangerously at him "Move before I make you Felix." He held his ground.

I snapped and swung my fist at him making contact with his jaw and sent him backwards a few feet. "I SAID MOVE. When I tell you to do something you DO IT." I nearly yelled.

"Do you forget who you are talking to Dark!" He growled back at me. "I am the supervisor of the four leaders! YOU. LISTEN. TO ME!"

Seán jumped in between us as my mother tried pulling me away "THAT IS ENOUGH! You both are grown men! Act like it!" I seethed and turned away and faced my mother who had remained calm through the whole ordeal.

"How can I change my color back." Her mouth hung open

"There is no way Mark..." I shifted uncomfortably at the name.

"Then I'll dye it red." I sighed "can you help me with that?" She smiled for the first time I saw her and nodded quickly.

"You boy's follow me back to my home." I rolled my shoulders hearing a couple pops and started following her.
