Chapter 29: A Bloody Golden Battle
❗️❗️This Chapter Mentions some Blood! If your touchy with this, then I advise you be a little more careful❗️❗️
(Gold POV)
Chaos. I was slowly falling to my demise with injuries I couldn't even feel. My shoulder most likely broken. My legs were numb. My hands were slightly bleeding, but mainly numb. The ground was far below, and I was still trying to wrap my head around the battle that had just occurred. It made no sense.
Why. Why couldn't I beat him-
.
.
.
Earlier...
I stood before him, with his emotionless eyes and very quiet nature, I stood before a Man who considered himself a king. He pulled out a pokeball, an old one with some cracks in it. You could tell that whatever Pokemon inside that thing must've been through a lot, but I already knew what was inside of it. A Pokemon I feared to see.
Many assume Red's Strongest is his Charizard, but that isn't even his best. Red just keeps Charizard out since it is definitely one of his stronger Pokemon, but his strongest goes to his second Pokemon, who can also be considered his first pokemon.
He released the Pokemon from inside and out came the creature I feared from him: His Pikachu. Electricity came flying as it was released, and soon dark storm clouds came as the blizzard intensified.
Like Father like son, both Ash's and Red's Pikachu were powerful. If those two were to battle I don't know who would even win. I'd say they'd be equally matched.
The Pikachu despite being rarely shown was clearly still able to battle with ease. Its speed was clearly its main trait as it was moving so fast I couldn't even see it move.
I had sent out my Scizor in hopes it could keep up with the Pikachu, but it was obviously struggling. Red wasn't even paying attention to the slaughter as Pikachu attacked viscously at my Scizor. The only thing slowing Pikachu down was the hail. My Scizor however kept standing due to its emotions. It was gravely hurt, but still was trying to Fight Pikachu. A look in its eyes showed how it wanted revenge. It kept getting knocked to the cold icy floor, and soon it would get back up ready for another chance to hit the Pikachu.
Sometimes it had hit its mark, othertimes the Pikachu had swiftly dodged. Red still was too arrogant to watch the battle, but his Charizard was surely intrigued. It had been closely watching while Red just looked the opposite direction of the battle looking off into space.
However, Pikachu was able to take Scizor out with an Iron Tail. The Pikachu seemed unfazed by this whole beating, while Scizor was completely beaten on the floor. I returned him back into his Pokeball, and grabbed Politoed. It was now raining along with the Hail. I planned to slow the Pikachu with Ice Moves, and it worked!
My Politoed slowed the Pikachu using Icy Wind and Ice Beam, enough so that I could see it as it ran. Finally, we had a chance. Politoed attacked using Hyper Voices and Scald, but the Pikachu had dodged with quick attack and Countered with Thunderbolt. It eventually attacked with a Powerful Volt Tackle, which has quite the legend around it. Legends say that Red trained Pikachu for 2 Years on Mt. Silver on just Volt Tackle alone, and that it was powerful enough to charge an entire city with electricity. Was this true, I couldn't answer. However, the hit took out my Politoed with ease.
I sent out Togetaro despite knowing the disadvantage it was at, but it was here where Red subbed his Pikachu with Charizard, saying that Pikachu was getting bored of beating my behind.
Arceus This Man Deserves to Get Hit with Judgement.
The Charizard was radiating such an intense energy from just standing in the know. It had lit up the once foggy battlefield, and had a burst of energy as it flew right at my Togetaro and sending it flying into rocks. However, blinding lights had come from where Togetaro was. Togetaro was using Dazzling Gleam, and soon those lights were followed by Air Slash.
Togetaro flew back to the battlefield, and soon the two began circling in the sky. The two flew into the clouds, and soon lights came flashing. The next thing I knew was a jolt from my heart. Pain was afflicted onto my Chest, and I was struggling to breathe. Red didn't even turn to see if I was alright, making me feel animosity.
Thats when Togetaro came flying down towards me, full of burn marks and heavy scratches. Togetaro was breathing heavily, and had tears running down its face. Charizard landed in front of me, having an intimidating look on its face. It towered over me, its expression practically telling me that anything I sent out would be brutally destroyed to the point of death. Red had a smile looking at his Charizard, his hubris was clearly showing as he smiled.
I pulled another Pokeball from my belt, and threw it behind Charizard. Charizard flew at the Pokemon who thankfully dodged the onslaught. My Ambipom was one Pokemon I had trained for dodging attacks, and I knew that Red would realize that. After all, he would battle my Aipom when we were little. He knew what this think was capable of.
Finally, Red turned around and gave his attention to the battle. He seemed to have finally noticed the hail, and the situation. Yet, his expression was still lifeless as ever. At one point, it was full of life and joy, now it was just an empty shell of a boy who loved Pokemon.
He blinked towards Charizard, which was already a sign of an upcoming attack. Charizard flew towards my Ambipom, swinging its fiery tail at my Pokemon. Naturally, the Ambipom dodged the attack, but soon Charizard had head-butted it straight towards me. However, my Ambipom in less than a second had landed on me, crawled behind me, and jumped back into the action.
Normally Red would be impressed and compliment me for being able to pull that off, now he just stood there, unimpressed. Charizard using its body to attack rather than use real moves. Whether it was taunting or not was pretty clear. It was overconfident. And I don't blame it.
Ambipom kept attacking Charizard with ice punches and physical moves, but they were doing nothing. In fact, it was like Charizard was getting gifted from Arceus itself infinite power. Charizard was just standing there and taking it. My Ambipom was working its hardest trying to beat Red, but it was leading to nowhere. Whether it was in vain was still something I was debating on. However, I saw it grow less professional in its attacks. It was just throwing pitiful punches and jabs. It was breathing heavy.
"How Sad, This Pokemon is Such Wasted Potential."
Red had stated before turning back for his throne. Charizard flew towards Ambipom and picked him up and flew straight for the clouds. More flashes appeared from the clouds, and a loud cry of despair that could be heard miles away.
Ambipom had fallen to the ground like a broken toy, with more bruises than Togetaro. It attempted to get up from its spot, but Charizard came flying down and landed directly on Ambipom, crushing it. I heard more cries from the Pokemon who was getting crushed painfully. All that effort for this.
Thats when I felt a vibration on my belt, and the Pokemon came flying out towards Charizard, knocking him down. Explotaro was done with all of this nonsense. I returned Ambipom back to its Pokeball, it would need healing, and fast. However, a Brother War was about to Begin.
One Rivalry always existed before this entire War even took off. Red's Charizard was a Rival to many, but the main two being Blue's Blastoise and My Explotaro. Our Rivalry always seemed somewhat superior and more brotherlike, so it was dubbed the BrotherWar. However, Red and Blue were always the True Rivals.
Now, Years Later, the Two still fight. Flames bursted, bites would pierce one another, and some blood would be spilled on the occasion. Especially now, as these two brothers wanted to fight each other to the Death. To see who was the true Alpha Male. The King. They wouldn't be defeated so easily.
Thats when I felt a sharp pain and contact with something physical. I was knocked to the floor, and someone stood over me. And soon I was kicked to the side. He was actually trying to fight me. Physically.
I got to my feet and blocked attacks from him. He was fairly good at throwing punches and jabs. Beside us were our own Pokemon fighting, throwing flames as the Hail fell on us. Red was still landing hard hits, and I was losing my footing on the ice. I fell a few times, and Red would stomp really hard on my shoulder, which I couldn't even feel anymore.
Soon, Red had punched me directly in the gut, and I had fallen to the floor. Some blood was dripping from my nose, and my eye was hurting majorly. My Gut felt like a truck ran into it at full speed. Explotaro saw me fall, and got distracted from me falling that Charizard was able to land a free hit on Explotaro. Charizard threw Explotaro at me.
The two figures overlooked us, with no emotions. The hail picked up again, and soon the world was fading to black. Red picked us up, and the next thing I know is that I'm hanging over the edge of Mt.Silver. Below was a long fall, that would kill me.
"Pathetic, All you have done has been nothing but nonsense, and has been a complete failure."
The next thing I know is me getting dropped over the edge along with Explotaro, and seeing Red and Charizard turn away back to their throne.
I have watched my Pokemon for a long time. I had ensured that they had training best suited for them and their needs. They normally pulled through any battle, able to hold their as long as they had the heart to do so. Then why not this time?
Why had Red won?
He rarely showed compassion for his Pokemon nowadays, and even if he did at one point, don't they hate him for who he is now?
Why do they follow him still?
I know Pikachu is a Smart Rodent. He should sense that his Trainer is doing things wrong. Were they all always this evil? Was this their true intention?
It Made No Sense...
And before I know it, The World Turned Black-

(Star POV)
Heading down the Mountain I went, trying to keep this trip to the Mountain short. I came here for a 3 month long training session, until I ran into General Gold. He seemed to be struggling, so I offered him up the Mountain. I've been here many times, and I know trainers hang here just to annoy people. They think they're almighty, but they're quite easy to take out.
However, I wish to not join the main conflict of this battle. I see the world as a story, and I clearly am not the protagonist. When Gold asked me to fight Red, I already knew that was something I would never be able to achieve. Why should I fight him? I have no past with him, and we don't know each other. This war is having these people fight for people they may not even know. And I knew I shouldn't join this mess.
However as I was heading towards the bottom of the Mountain, I sensed impending doom. I don't know how to describe the feeling, but it seemed like death lingered in the air around me. I looked around to see a man falling at incredible speeds. Didn't know who it was due to my near sightedness, but they were to surely die from this fall.
I quickly ran to where they were to fall, but it was clear that I wasn't gonna make it. Thats when something flew past me at amazing speeds, and soon a blue glow was around the man and a pokemon that was also falling. The Pokemon was camouflaged in all the snow, but it had amazing psychic power as it maneuvered the Man and a Pokemon into my arms with ease. And instantly I recognized the man; it was Gold. The Pokemon left soon afterwards, but I was left carrying a gravely injured trainer and Pokemon. Blood was clearly seen coming from his nose.

(Gold POV)
I awoke in a Pokemon Center with Nurse Joys all around me. I was blinking slowly- and felt pain throughout my whole body. I didn't speak a word, and neither did they. We were all focusing on one thing, them trying to heal me, and me trying to just stay awake. It was getting hard to just breathe. My heart was in such pain, but that was the spot I had gotten hit the least.
The Nurse Joys were gonna keep me in the hospital for another 2 hours before I was released.
"Your Lucky the Girl came to your aid, young trainer."
"She really ran here with such speeds."
"She was very professional about all of this."
The nurses had whispered amongst themselves. Whoever had saved me had left an impact on them. I wondered who it could've been.
However, after 2 hours I finally was able to leave the Pokemon Center. My Pokemon had been healed with extensive care, except my Explotaro and Ambipom who were sent to a Hospital elsewhere for the best possible treatment since they were the worst to get beat up. Explotaro and Ambipom had broken bones apparently, and heavy wounds that needed special treatment.
I walked outside to see Star sitting on a bench feeding her Absol some treats, seemed like food specialized in Carbos.
"Hey, you good?" She asked while getting up from the bench. She had a neutral expression, not showing happiness nor sadness. I just nodded my head and looked towards Mt.Silver which could be seem from where we were.
"I assume you didn't win the battle with Red..."
"Not this Battle, but this Battle opened my eyes."
"Might I ask what this battle opened your eyes to?"
"It showed me how much I need to improve and how far behind I've become."
Star stared at me, with her focus completely on my brace that I had to wear for a few days. Her Absol had rubbed against my legs in an attempt to cheer me up.
"So what's your plan now?" Star asked me while returning her Absol. Look who is asking the questions now.
"I plan to return back to Ash. I don't wanna leave him alone for too long, especially since I lost my phone." I told her while she smiled. The sun was already slightly setting over some clouds.
"I might accompany you, especially since I hear the people are becoming more violent as this war continues. So you might need some backup."
Star told me while pulling out a Pokeball. I find it would be rude to deny her backup, so I allowed her to come. Especially since I didn't have my aces with me.
Me and her walked to the nearest airport, and we made sure we didn't get surprised attacked. A few trainers tried but Star easily put them down in one move which made them flee.
We talked about the war, and we liked to talk about space.
"Imagine a world where Ash chose to actually join a side. There probably is a world where he went with his Father, or his Mother, or something completely random!"
The thought was intriguing, so I listened on.
"This would be a Parallel World, or Alternate Universe. Its similar to this world with one key difference, and the possibilities are endless!" Star told me while we walked through the quiet woods. The stars were twinkling above us while Star's Absol made sure nobody would touch us. I felt my legs easily getting numb, but also because they were numb from Red beating me. Me and her just kept walking and didn't stop once for food or water.
By the time we got to an airport, they weren't allowing people in due to the War. They were closed already, and wouldn't be open till the morning. We slept on a bench outside the airport, and by we I mean me. I fell asleep before Star did.
When I woke up Star was training her Absol new tricks, which was quite bananas! Her Absol was already powerful, what else did it need to know!
"Good Morning, General. The Airport opens in 7 minutes, 24 seconds, and 2 milliseconds." Star told me while patting her Absol. I couldn't tell if she got sleep last night or not, but she still seemed fine.
We entered the Airport, bought tickets, and waited for the plane. People were watching the news of Alain attacking Ash. A video had gone viral, and now everyone was watching that, including Star! The world was scared of Alain and what he had done to Ash. It was a bold move, and people didn't know how to feel about it.
However, when our plane was ready to take off, me and Star sat by each other. I was looking outside the window, trying to come up with plans for the future. Star meanwhile was getting airline food. Mainly pretzels. However as we were going down the runway, I looked outside to see a Rainbow, and my Dream Pokemon flying alongside the Airplane. As we took off, it flew into the Rainbow and disappeared again.
"You know, I think its trying to cheer you up." Star stated as I stared out the window. It must've sensed the grief I was feeling but hiding behind a shell.
I had failed them. My Friends. My Family.
I couldn't beat Red, and I failed to avenge them.
I tried not to cry sitting in the chair, and my grip on the handle for the seat tightened heavily. I looked over to see Star fallen asleep, knocked out like a light. I decided for now, some sleep was necessary for me to decided my next move. I looked outside the window, and fell asleep in my chair.
