"Minnie!!! Open the damn door.........", Both the siblings yelled at the top of their voices.

Although a bit orange, the Sun was still there in the sky indicting that it was not too late. Probably around five or six in the evening.

"I swear if you don't open it before the count of 10, I'll break both the door as well as your ass", Selena's anger was getting beyond its limit while on the other hand Maze kept on blowing the Jeep's horn, trying to create some tune.

"1.........2..........3...........4...........5..........6............7.........8", still there was no sign of the doors getting unlocked.

"9............ 9½ ............ 9⅔ .......... 9⅞ .............. and ......... 10", Selena stopped counting hoping that Minnie would soon rush to open the door and apologize to them for her delay but none of it happened. The doors remained closed the way they were.

As if remembering an important information, Selena lifted the doormat, took the spare key and opened the doors. She placed the key back to its original place.

She was literally fuming with anger when she barged through the doors followed by an equally irritated Maze. The lights were dim due to which she stumbled upon something and fell face forward on the floor. Expecting her nose to break due to the sudden fall, she luckily landed on something soft and fluffy like a mattress. But wait......... Who would place a mattress in the middle of the living room.

As soon as Maze switched on the lights, both of their eyes caught sight of something too scary to be believed. The mattress on which Selena had fallen was nothing but a dead body of a man. A man they had never seen.

She immediately pulled herself away from it while Maze turned the body to have a closer look. The body or better said the man's condition was beyond scary. His teeth were drenched in blood. One of his eyes was badly injured. It seemed like someone had brutally punctured it with a knife or a pointed object. He had a deep cut on his forehead from which fresh blood was oozing out. His bloody was twitching and a few inaudible groans left his mouth.

With shivering hands, Maze took his phone and immediately called for the Police.

Maze and Selena sat on the couch with horror on their faces. The body laying a few metres away from them kept on shaking once in a while. Their stance was broken by the siren of an ambulance. Two men dressed in hospital clothes came through the doors along with a stretcher.

As soon as they left with the body, three policemen came inside. Two of them seemed too young to be in police. One of them was a pale faced man with well-defined features and blue eyes while the other one was a tan skinned handsome man with green eyes. Both of them were so good looking that anyone could mistake them as models for some fashion magazine. The third one was a bit older intimidating man, maybe in his forties.

"Good evening Mr. Stones. I am Charlie Vincent, Inspector of police", the tan skinned man came forward. Pointing towards the older one he said,"This is ACP Richard Rudolf and that is Inspector Blue Woods. We are here for some investigation."

"I know its not the right time and you two must be too shocked to answer us, but we need your help. So plase calm down and tell us everything from the beginning", unlike his strict appearance, Richard said in a soft voice.

Maze looked at Selena with a bit of fear and hesitation but he decided to answer the cops. "We had gone to the supermarket in the city to buy some necessary things. When we returned, we saw some unknown man laying on the floor. We immediately called for the Police. And then you came."

"So you are saying that you left the house unguarded and without permission irrespective of the fact that the police orders have asked you all not to do so. How irresponsible", Blue finally uttered something since his arrival. He was clearly disappointed with the audacity of these people to disobey the rules.

"No we didn't leave the house empty!!!!! Minnnn...................", As the realisation hit on Maze, he immediately ran upstairs followed by the rest. Entering in Minnie's room, he was out of words to see the disheveled state of her room. The bedsheet was torn into pieces. The bedside lamp was on the floor with a broken bulb. Pillows, frames, books etc. were spread on the floor in a filthy manner as if a war had just ended.

The silence was broken with the sounds of sobbing coming from the bathroom. Maze went further and opened the bathroom door only to find Minnie sitting in a corner, hugging her knees and sobbing like a little kid. A blood-stained rusty rod was placed beside her resting by the wall. Her hair were in a messy state and successfully managed to hide her face. Selena immediately ran towards her. Kneeling down she slowly patted on the older one's head. While touching the back of her head, she felt a little bulge and something wet. Smelling her hand, she got more worried cause of the iron like smell. It didn't require one to be an expert to guess that it was blood.

"Minnie........ What happened?", Selena said in her low soothing voice.

Minnie looked towards her sister. Her eyes were bloodshot red and swollen from all the crying. There was a scratch on her left cheek. Selena couldn't stand seeing her sister in the broken state. Thus helping her to stand on her feet, she took her back to the still messy room. Making some space on the bed, she made Minnie sit comfortably. Handling her the water bottle from the nightstand, Selena waited for her sister to calm down a bit.

When Minnie's sobs were in control, Maze came near her and repeated Selena's question. "Minnie............ What happened?"

Minnie looked towards them with bloodshot eyes and muttered,"Tomorrow".

"I think we should let her rest for now. Why don't we talk tomorrow", Selena suggested to which Maze nodded in agreement.

While Selena took Minnie to her room, Maze apologized to the policemen that were still waiting for them. Assuring them their safety, the men informed to return the next day for further interrogation.
