"Selena!!! Ha... have you hea... Heard the news yet?", Minnie somehow managed to say out of breath due to running.

"No i haven't. May i know what's so special about it. Lemme guess, either a minister has been arrested for 'drunk and drive' or one of the Kardashian sisters is expecting yet another baby?", Selena replied a bit annoyed on getting disturbed during her nap.

"No you idiot. Uncle Mars is missing!!!!", Minnie almost yelled at her younger sister.

"And what about Uncle Jupiter or Uncle Saturn?", Selena blabbered.

"Are you on drugs!!!!! This is not the right time to joke. I am talking about our neighbour. The man who had crooked teeth and a belly as round as a pot.",said Minnie.

"So why don't you go and find him. I have always hated the guts of that man. I mean you seriously expect me to have an interest  in a topic regarding that asshole who used to check out girls almost the age of his granddaughters with eyes full of lust. Just the thought of him makes me want to puke.", Selena said dramatically.

"Oh shut up! That's not the main gossip. They say that his body was found in the nearby forest with his face completed destroyed as if brutally hammered. The cops were able to identify him with the ID in his wallet and a DNA test. The investigations has caused the prohibition of people, in the town, from stepping out of their houses. I wonder who would have done it in an area as peaceful as ours", Minnie gave the details.

Although Selena hated Uncle Mars but the thought of a murder happening near their house, moreover of a person they have known since childhood made her feel nauseous. They resided on the countryside where there were hardly any building except for 10-12 houses, a garage for name sake, a general store and a cave like old house which gave those creepy vibes. Their parents were out of the town and the only people at home were Selena along with her two elder siblings, Maze and Minnie. Trying to avoid the topic she held her sisters hand and dragged her to the kitchen, whining like a baby.

"What do you want to eat Madam?", Asked Minnie, well aware of her sister's intentions.

"How about some garlic bread and cheese dips?", Selena questions with glistening eyes filled with hope.

"And how about you make it? If you want some help then I can help you in finishing the food.", Minnie gave her a mischievous smile.

"You are the elder one......... So technically its your responsibility to take care of me.", Selena fought back.

"So I was thinking, what would be mom's reaction when she gets to know that her darling daughter was the one to break her fav teaset while dancing in the kitchen", Minnie tried to scare her sister.

"Fine!!!!!!!!! Gosh sometimes I think that one of us is adopted cause we are so different...."

"I remember the day when mom and dad had picked you out of the garbage bin and provided you with a place to call home.", said Minnie.

Selena picked up the tea cloth and threw it right on her sister's face. Minnie bends her head a little making the cloth fall on the ground. For a moment they got complete engrossed in the fight, forgetting about the current situation. They were busy giggling when they heard a knock on the main door.

Straightening her posture, Minnie opened the door when their elder brother Maze rushed inside wearing a polo t-shirt that was completely drenched in sweat. He had his Base-bat in one hand and his gun bag in the other.

Going straight in the kitchen, he took a bottle and started taking huge gulps of water like a thirsty ape. As soon as he was finished, he looked at Selena "Have you heard the news?"

"Yup. Minnie told me a while ago." she sighed.

"You don't need to worry. Nothing is gonna happen to both of you till the time I am there.", Maze gave a half-smile.

"Maze do you still remember what Selena looked like when we had found her in the dustbin?", Minnie tried to lighten the mood.

"Absolutely. She looked like a baby hippo.", Said Maze.

"Fuck you both!!!!!!!!"

The siblings war was back except this time Maze too was a part of it.

The next morning Selena woke up with a slight pain in her lower abdomen. She removed the blankets and growled upon seeing the blood stains on her bedsheet.

"Not again...."

Removing the sheets she went to her bathroom. After taking a warm shower and blaming God for creating the Menstruation Cycle for nearly half an hour, she went to her closet.

Looking through her drawers she received a huge shock on learning the fact that no more sanitary napkins were left there except for two that she had kept aside in case of emergency. A sigh escaped her lips. She immediately got dressed up and went Maze's room. Slightly knocking the door, she asked Maze if he could accompany her to the general store.

"Aaaaaaaaah ............... I'll be there in a minute", he spoke in his morning groggy voice.

Selena went downstairs only to find Minnie sitting on the couch in a complete unladylike posture, stuffing her mouth with waffles and watching morning Yoga.
This habit of hers was something that Selena never in a million years would understand. Why would one watch Yoga while enjoying junk food and doing literally nothing.

Sensing a presence behind her Minnie said, "How in the bloody pumpkin are they able to lose weight. I have been watching this for almost a decade."

"You know, you actually need to do this stuff in order to get slim. Just by watching this and eating like a buffalo............. You won't be able to achieve that figure", Selena retorted.

"MY LIFE....... MY RULES."
And just like always, the conversation ended.

It had been almost 10 mins since Selena and Maze had arrived outside the General store. They had a defeated sign on their faces while their eyes kept on examining the Notice that was stuck outside on the closed doors, as if not believing their luck. In bold capital letters it wrote

"AS PER THE ORDERS OF THE LOCAL POLICE, WE WILL REMAIN CLOSED FOR A FEW DAYS.
THE SHOP WILL OPEN SHORTLY AFTER THE PERMISSION IS GRANTED. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE."

"Why does it always happen with me. Of all the days it had to close today?", She could be nothing but angry.

"No problem we will come get after a few days when the shop is open", Maze tried to calm down his little sister.

"You don't get it bro.......... It....... It was an emergency...", Selena said

"If it is so, then why don't we check in the city stores. They must be open. Moreover its still early morning so we don't have to worry about Minnie staying home alone", Maze suggested with hopeful eyes.

"I think you are right. Let's go early so that we return early", her voice immediately became cheerful.

They went back to their Jeep and started for the city. The place where they lived was a calm hilly area with lots of greenery and hardly any population to be noticed. It being the reason, Selena wasn't a big fan or we can say accustomed of the crowded city.

Within an hour or so they reached a Walmart. Selena pulled a trolly and started filling it with loads of sanitary napkin. Having had enough of them, she went to the beverages section and pulled almost the whole lot of Kit-Kat and Wafers.

"Hey girl, Stop there!! We aren't going to die tomorrow. At least have mercy on others and leave some for them", Maze was quite amused with his sister's craze for all sorts of Junk.

"PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASSSSE", Selena gave him her puppy eyes along with a pout.

"Alright. Hurry Up! We don't have all day", he couldn't stand his sister's drama.

Checking out, they filled the backseat with their bags and hurried towards their home.
