Chpt 13: The Wedding Night

The journey to Casterly Rock was quiet. The only sound that could be heard was the waves crashing against the ship and Cannibal flying over us.

I stood on the deck of the ship, looking out on the dark, cold night. "Casterly Rock is not a bad place to live, you know. We have some of the best wine in the Seven Kingdoms" Tyland said inching his way towards me.

I gave him a weak smile. "I do like wine" i said. He chuckled as he stood beside me. "I'm sorry for your wedding being cut short" he said. "It's fine... I should have known my father would have done something like that. He doesn't trust me."

"I wonder why?" he questioned. I shrugged. "I wonder also" i said pretending to be clueless. "I presume it's because of my low birth. It's not like i asked for that. He acts like it was my choice to be a bastard!"

He gave me an apologetic look as i sighed. "I should not speak of the king this way. My apologies, lord" i said. "It is fine... I know the thoughts of your wedding night must be playing on your mind" he said.

I winced at the thought. "It isn't that horrible. Once you give my nephew an heir, you will be free to do what you wish. You only have to see your husband at events and other than that, you don't even need to speak to one another."

I nodded. "Thank you for your kind words, lord. I'll remember them" i said. The man turned to me and laughed. "You know, i was weary about having my nephew wed you. I heard rumours that you were a bit... Well, mad? But you seem like a very kind girl" he said.

I fought the urge to laugh at his words. "Thank you?" i said. He put his hand on my shoulders giving me a small nod before he left my company.  Suddenly, the boat shook against the hard waves as i lifted my head. "Gods be good" i muttered under my breath seeing Casterly Rock coming into view.

It was even bigger than i could have imagined. Not as big as the castle but... Big enough. Once the ship docked, we were brought into a carriage which led up the high mountains. Lennon and i were immediately led to his chambers when we stepped inside their home, with ser Criston following behind.

I hesitated before walking in the door, clutching the necklace Daemon had gifted me many moons ago. "Well... Come on. We don't have all night" Lennons said. My eyes slowly drifted to Cole who had been sent to guard the door.

He didn't dare meet my eye. I held my own as i close the door behind me. Lennon immediately began to undress as i rolled my eyes. I began pouring myself some wine as he sighed.

"Pour me one too. I'll need it" he said. I bit my tongue trying to keep calm. I poured us both some wine and handed it to him. I then looked the man up and down with judgment as he chugged the chalice in one gulp.

He threw the cup away, waiting for me to undress. "I'm not finished my cup" i said. He gritted his teeth as he grabbed my shoulders tightly. "You are my wife" he spat. "And i am not done my wine" i spat back.

I saw his blood boil as he threw me to the bed. I rolled my eyes at his short temper, waiting for my plan to work. "You... Are my wife. And you will do as i say. Do what i... Do... What i... I-"

The man suddenly dropped to the ground, hitting his head off the concrete floor. I finished my glass of wine as i threw a blanket over him. "I told you i hadn't finished my wine" i muttered under my breathe.

Once i made sure he was passed out, i began to fix myself  in the mirror. I brushed my hair quickly, drinking another glass of wine before opening my chamber door. Ser Criston gave me a confused look as i smiled excitedly. "Princess?... What are you-"

Before he could finish his words, i dragged him inside and locked the door behind us. Coles eyes drifted from me and then to Lennon who was slumped on the floor. "What did you do?" he asked. I scrunched my nose up at the man as i chuckled. "I keep some poison in this necklace for safe keeping. Did you not know?"

His face dropped as i rolled my eyes. "Not deadly poison. He'll just be asleep for a few hours" i said. I began to take off Cristons armour before he stopped me. "You are married, princess."

My smile faded at his words. "You know i could not have fought my father on this. I had to marry... It's not like i wanted too" i said. "I am not angry with you, princess" he said. "But... You do regret what happened?"

He stayed quiet which gave me my answer. "Do you truly regret it? Or do you just think what you did was wrong?... Because it wasn't wrong" i said. "It was, Rhaena" he said finally meeting my gaze. I winced slightly as he used my name. He never called me by my name.

"Was it wrong?" i questioned running my hand up his arm. He gulped at my touch, closing his eyes tightly. He didn't want to give in. "Tell me, ser Criston. Was it wrong?" i asked again this time running my hands through his hair. I crept up onto my toes and whispered in his ear.

"It is my wedding night and my husband seems... Unable to do his duty. Perhaps you may fill in for him."

He seemed caught off by my words. I inched closer to him, waiting for him to pull away. But he didn't. Suddenly, he pulled me into his chest, kissing me as if it was the last time.

He bent down to my size as he ran his fingers underneath the edge of my dress, hiking it up as i wrapped my thighs around his waist. He then gently laid me down on the bed, which was supposed to be for my husband and i, as he began kissing my neck leading down to my chest.

I moaned at his touch, feeling a smile against my skin. My thighs tightened around him as Cole took one of my breasts in his mouth. He began to squeeze my breast gently whilst his mouth closed over my nipple. I then began helping him take of his armour which was harder than it looked. It made me laugh to watch him struggle.

As my laughter echoed the room, i noticed Cole stop and stare at my smile. "I want you now" i demanded through heavy breaths. A smirk crawled upon his face as i shifted my hips and pulled him towards me. He let out a groan as i felt him enter me completely.

I put my hand over his mouth to keep him from making to much noise whilst shaking my head. Cole tired to go slow as if he was hurting me. But i knew he couldn't. I dug my finger nails into his muscular back, picking up the pace. I kept my eyes on his the whole time. His beautiful brown eyes.

I fought the moan that begged to escape me, tightening the grip on his skin. Ser Criston began to roughly snap his hips into mine, picking up the pace with every second. He now understood i did not want this gentle.

With one last snap, i felt his seed spill into me, his body collapsing beside mine as we began to catch our breath. I smiled whilst he was not looking, knowing he would bed me whenever i wanted, whenever i asked. Because he could not say no.

Once ser Criston opened his eyes, his smile faltered. "You must have moon tea... You know this, right?" he asked. "Of course i do. I'll smuggle some by the morrow" i said.

As i spoke, Cole looked to the Lannister man who was still passed out on the floor. "Gods, i forgot he was there" he said which made me laugh loudly. Cole smiled at the sound of my voice as his eyes softened. "I don't believe i can let you be some other man's wife" he whispered.

I sat up, beginning to dress myself. "Why don't you whisk me away then?" i asked sarcastically. He stayed quiet as the thought flooded his mind. He didn't hate the idea. I did not notice this of course, i was much too distracted by his bare chest. I grabbed his chain and began to play with it in silence.

"My new husband doesn't seem like the kindest man, ser Criston. I would feel much better if i had you by my side.... As my ally" i said. He paused. "I'll be the only dragon amongst a pack of lions." Even the thought of seeing Rhaena harmed made ser Criston go mad.

"I will be by your side then, my lady. As long as you want me there."

A smile tugged at my lips as i finally let his chain go. "I think it's best you go. I don't want anyone to notice your absence" i said. Ser Criston reluctantly began to dress himself as he gave me one last gentle kiss.

"I'll be right outside if he is to wake up. If he tries to harm me, you call for me right away" he said. "I believe i can handle myself, ser Criston... But thank you."

I watched as he walked out of the chambers, smiling to myself. Everything had fallen into place just as i had planned. I was about to blow out the candles that surround the room so i could try and get some sleep until i saw a pool of blood staining the floor. "Shit" i muttered under my breath.

I ran to Lennons side, trying to see any signs of breathing... But there was none. "Shit!" i exclaimed. The poison i had given him may not have killed him, but the fall certainly did. Such a pathetic death if you think about it. Falling to the ground after being poisoned on your wedding night.

I tried to keep myself calm, beginning to think of a way i could cover this up. And then one came to me. I rubbed the blood on my hands and covered it all over my gown. I then  pulled the body to the middle of the room and filled many, many cups with wine.

If i was correct, Lennon seems to be the type of man who would eventually drink himself to death. I forced my eyes to fill with tears as i loosened my gown. "Help! Please help!" i shouted as loud as i could.

Ser Criston ran inside with his sword drawn until he saw what had happened. "Rhaena" he muttered. I ignored the man as i continued to sob. "Fetch the maesters! Please!" i exclaimed. Other Lannister guards ran inside, one running to find a maester to help us.

It was then Jason and Tyland Lannister appeared in the doorway. Jason's face faltered as he ran to his son. "No... No!" he shouted. "My child... My only child" he mumbled through sobs.

Tyland grabbed my arm as he forced me to face him. "What's happened, princess?" he asked calmly. "We... We were doing our marital duty and... And he rose to his feet to pour himself another glass... I told him lord, i told him he had too many and he should stop but he did not listen... And then he fell to the ground and hit his head. I'm sorry, lord. I should have done more i-"

"Nonsense" Tyland said. "You are not to blame, princess. I told him many times he was to stop drowning himself in his cups. Come. Let us get you changed and away from this mess."

I wiped my tears away as he walked me out of the room full of chaos. Jason's sobs echoed the the halls as the knights looked at the scene in horror. I then met Coles eye before i fled to scene.

He gave me a look i had seen many times before from my father and many others at court. He was afraid of me. It ached me to my core that he saw me as everyone else did. He looked at me as if i was a monster.

"Princess," Tyland whispered as we walked the halls, snapping me out of my daze. "Lord?" i questioned. "May i ask, before this all happened... Did you and Lennon... Preform your duty fully?"

I gulped at his forward question, removing my gaze from his. "We did, lord" i said lying through my teeth. He let out a small sight if relief. "Then we may yet still have an heir" i heard him say.

As i turned the corner into another chamber, i was met with many handmaidens making up a bed for me. "These ladies will get you changed out of your gown and make you feel comfortable for the night... I am truly sorry you had to witness this, princess... Your wedding night should have never ended like this" he said.

"Your right, lord" i said. "This is far from what i had planed."
