Astrid's POV

"Aaaaaaaaaa...",I yelled as I was about to head for the Gronckle but then,I stop seeing that Hiccup has already laid the Gronckle out.

"...aaaaaaauGGGGGHHHHHHHH! No! No",I yelled angry as ever.That should have been my dragon!

Hiccup shrugs like nothing happened.

"NO! NO! SON OF HALFTROLL RAT EATING!MUNGE BUCKET!",I yelled more until I heard a loud "clack" sound ring out through the arena.From the crowd above, Gothi, the village elder, stepped forward, tapping her staff. Everyone lights up excitedly.

"Wait! Wait!",Stoick yelled.

As Hiccup was about to leave,Gobber snags him.

"Not so fast",He said.

"I'm kinda late for--",he started till I interrupted him.

"What? Late for what exactly?",A Viking asked as murmurs spread through out the crowd.

Stoick holds out his hands to silence the jabbering crowd.

"Okay quiet down.The elder has decided",Stoick said.

Thrilled, Gobber stands behind Hiccup and I.

As he points to me,the crowd waits in silent anticipation.

Gothi shakes her head 'no.' The crowd 'Oooohs.'

Gobber then points to Hiccup. The elder nods an affirmative 'yes.' as the crowd erupts in cheers.

I scoffed and looked at Hiccup as I gave him a seething, death glare.

His eyes widen as his father walked down into the arena with us.

"Great Job son!You get to kill one of the most fiercest dragons to Viking kind",He said with a proud smile.

I shook my head and threw my axe at the ground.

The crowd cheered as Stoick placed a hand on Hiccups shoulder but surprisingly,Hiccup pushes it off.

"What's wrong son?",Stoick asked as the crowd went dead silent.

"Look,I...".Hiccup started but he looked like he was deciding wether or not to say it.

"I can't kill the dragon",Hiccup said quickly.

The crowd gasps and look at Stoick as he laughs."Yes you can!You just put all of these dragons down already",he said.

"Yes but I didn't hurt them.I don't want to kill dragons",Hiccup said.

"What has gotten into you!",Stoick asked.

"Nothing has but we were all wrong about the dragons!They are magnificent creatures that are only doing this for survival",Hiccup says.

Stoick scoffs and looked at Hiccup with a glare."You are out of your mind",he said.

"No I'm not!I-I tamed the NightFury",Hiccup said as we all laughed.

"Yeah right.The unholy offspring of lighting and death itself?",A Viking in the crowd yelled between laughs.

"You want me to prove it!Fine",Hiccup yelled as he yelled 'toothless'.

We all went silent as we waited patiently for what was a lie.

Back at the cove

Toothless heard his name called by his friend in the distance.Toothless ears perked up as he tried to get up the cove walls.

He could only fly with Hiccup but he tried to find an exit anyway.

When he saw a medium sized hole in the wall,he hit it with his tail to make it big enough so that he could get up the wall.It was next to Hiccups shield that got stuck.

Once Toothless was out of the cove he ran through the forest and into the village.He heard screams of terror ring out through the village a he ran.

Once he was near the arena that the Vikings kept dragons hostage in,he jumped on top of the metal net that covered the arena.

Hiccups POV

Come on toothless.Please make it out of the cove and get over here!

As the crowd started laughing again,we heard a big thud on the net above us.Dirt and dust went all in the air where no one could see anything.

I heard another thud behind me as I got a glance of black scales."Toothless!",I yelled as I ran to him.I got on his saddle that I made as the dust and dirt disappeared.

Gasps and screams were heard as someone yelled,"NightFury!"

"So it's true",I heard Astrid mumble as she took out her axe.

She ran at me with her axe until Toothless shot a low plasma blast at the axe.Enough to knock it out of her hands.

Toothless growled as Astrid took a step back and my dad walked up to me.

"So this is why you kept leaving and going into the forest for.You we're training that dragon!",My dad yelled.

"He showed me all those ways to stop dragons without hurting them.When i shot down toothless,I wanted to kill him but I couldn't!",I yelled.

Gobber stayed silent in the back as my dad glared at me.

"Enough of this,get off that dragon and kill it boy",my dad said.

"No"

Thats all it took before my dad exploded.

"You listen here boy.You get off that dragon and kill it or you will be banished from Berk.Forever!",He yelled as the crowds gasps.

"Then fine!Banish me!Toothless is my only friend and I'm not going to give him up for a dad that never cares for his son and a village that thinks I'm a weakling",I said.

Astrid looked at me and smiled."Good,maybe then the village won't be such a havoc.When your gone,I'll be the one to kill the Monsterous Nightmare!",She said while crossing her arms.

I looked around at all the Vikings agreeing with her.Then,my dad walked up to me.

"You are here by banished from Berk and to never return.You are no longer my son and Astrid will be killing the Monsterous Nightmare",He said.

Tears wailed up in my eyes but I removed them with my sleeve before anyone could noticed.

"Go pack your things and get out of Berk.You are a disgrace to Viking kind",He said before turning on his heel and walking away.

Snotlout then walked up to me and punched me in the face."Was that necessary",I asked.

"Duh,you are leaving so I can't punch you anymore so yes,it was",he said.

Ruff and Tuff laughed as Astrid smirked.

"We will be so happy when you leave.That might make things a lot easier around here",Tuff said.

"Yeah,easier",Ruff said.

"If you do come back to Berk without permission,you know what will happen",Astrid said while pointing a finger at her neck and pretending to slice it.

Everyone but Fishlegs left.He looked at me and sighed."Goodbye Hiccup",he said before also leaving.

I turned around to see Toothless looking at the ground."Lets get out of this miserable place",I said as I got on Toothless's saddle.He nodded as we flew off to my house.

He landed on the roof as I quickly slipped through my bedroom window.I grabbed a basket and packed clothes,paper,pencils,tools,and some food.I also grabbed a small pillow before crawling out of my window.

I hooked the basket to Toothless's saddle and got on him."I guess this is it bud.We are on our own now",I said as we flew in the air.

Toothless looked at me with a small gummy grin.

I turned around as I saw Berk disappear into the dark,foggy night.
