"Bye Mom"  Marinette smiled.

She was headed to Alya's cottage, to deliver some fresh pastries.

Marinette walked down the familiar trail, and looked at the castle.

She sighed.

Marinette knew she would never live, or even be allowed near the big brass gates, because she was a peasant.

She noticed that the sun was starting to set, so she hurried to Alya's cottage.

Marinette delivered the pastries and quickly started the journey back home.

The sun set, and Marinette shivered.

She felt like someone was watching her, and every once in a while, she would hear the light jingle of a bell.

Marinette started to run home, and sure enough, the prying eyes would follow.

She ran into her cottage, and locked the door.

"Hi Mom! I'm back" Marinette smiled.

"Hi!" Sabine replied.

"You have a few delivers tomorrow, so I suggest, you get some sleep" Sabine smiled.

Marinette nodded.

She closed her curtains and changed into her nightwear, and slept for a few hours.

"Goodnight Plagg" Marinette said, as she rubbed her pet cat's head.

The cat purred in response, and fell asleep on her bed.
