Broken Promises For Broken Hearts II

(GIRL WE GOT A) GOOD THING

Four Months Earlier, Forsyth Senior High School Auditorium

The auditorium was filled to the brim with students, almost all of them were screaming and cheering. The stage was fitted with speakers, lights, and instruments. A drum kit, bass guitar, guitar, a keyboard, and multiple microphones were seen. As the students got louder, the teachers began to get restless. They started to pull back the students, trying not to cause a bigger chaos than now. The principal finally walked onto the stage, carrying a piece of paper.

"Hello everyone, I'm sorry but our special performers today will be on the stage in just a few moments," she said, barely heard over the students. "Please try and calm your excitement for a little bit longer."

The principal walked off the stage, and a couple minutes later all the lights in the auditorium went off. The students started to scream louder, but slowly calmed down. A single spotlight came on, showing a man at the keyboard. He started to play, the audience almost going completely silent.

"We hope you enjoy your stay, it's good to have you with us, even if it's just for the day

We hope you enjoy your stay, outside the sun is shining, it seems like heaven ain't far away

It's good to have you with us, even if it's just for the day."

Matt Wilson played the last chords of the song, the spotlight slowly fading away. A long silence followed, nothing being able to be seen onstage. Suddenly, a fast drum roll started, red lights lighting up the stage. Matt was seen accompanied by a man playing the drums, a woman on the keyboard, a man on the guitar and a man on the bass guitar. The band was playing a song called Sam's Town originally by The Killers. Matt danced around as he sang, taking in the audience's energy. Matt was wearing a pair of black chelsea boots, black skinny jeans, a black button up shirt and a black perfecto leather jacket. His neatly put together disconnected undercut was bouncing around, determined to fall apart by the end of the concert. His band, The Problematics, was playing at a concert after school during the second to last week. The band was consisted of seniors. Jamie Fritz was the drummer, Zach Dewitt was the bassist, Alexa Lawrence was the keyboard player, and Cooper Daniels was the guitarist. Alexa and Cooper also had microphones, as in some songs they sing as well or sing the entire song. The band finished, the crowd going wild. Matt took a second, then spoke into the microphone.

"Hello Forsyth!" he yelled. "We're The Problematics, and we're your in-home entertainment tonight!"

The crowd screamed as the band tuned up for the next song.

Matt glanced at the setlist for the night, which read:

"Alright everybody, I'd like to dedicate this next song to my girlfriend, Cassie Blaire." said Matt, trying to point Cassie out of the crowd.

Cassie was in the front row, her long blonde hair put in a pony tail. She wore dark wash skinny jeans, brown thigh high boots, a white t shirt and a flannel. She waved at Matt, catching his eye.

"There she is!" he exclaimed, waving back. "This one's for you babe."

Matt picked up his acoustic guitar, counted the band in, and started playing "Dream On".
