Not Just a Movie (Edited)

As the ending credits rolled down the TV screen in front of her, Y/N yawned and threw the TV remote down.

It had been a perfect birthday for Y/N: woke up at 10:00 am (she was allowed to sleep in on her birthday), opened her birthday presents, went to McDonalds for lunch, had some birthday cake for tea. Now Y/N had just finished the third film in her planned movie marathon for tonight.

Y/N picked up the film's DVD case and looked at its cover ... The Banana Splits Movie, it said. Y/N rolled her eyes and smiled.

It had been a popular children's tv show back in the past, and now it seemed to be a popular horror parody film. She didn't know whether they were going to make sequels, but she would look out for them if they came.

Y/N had liked some parts of the film: the costumes, the camerawork, the incredible voice acting ... but there was a lot of gore in it.

Y/N absolutely HATED gore.

It made her feel sick and queasy, so she'd deliberately skipped the parts that were very grisly.

To take her mind off THOSE scenes, Y/N had actually started wondering what the movie would be like without the gore ... if the animatronics still went ballistic, but the majority of people survived?

Probably the fanfic writers have got started on AUs of those possibilities? Y/N thought, chuckling.

"Still ..." Y/N said out loud, "I wish I could do something about all the deaths, oh how I wish I could!"

She put the DVD case down, got up off the sofa and stretched. Y/N then turned around and started collecting all the empty packets and sweet wrappers.

What Y/N didn't notice was that the moment she turned her back on the tv screen showing the credits, the film suddenly froze and began to flicker.

The credits slowly started to rewind themselves back up, until the ending was reached; the clips of the Banana Splits playing their instruments.

The film suddenly unfroze, and started playing, the Banana Splits singing their happy theme tune. Y/N spun around, startled.

What the hell? I thought I already watched the ending...

Y/N grabbed the TV remote and tried to switch the TV off. It didn't work.

She then grabbed the DVD remote and tried to either switch the DVD player off, or eject the 'The Banana Splits Movie' DVD. Both of those attempts failed.

Even pulling the appliances' plugs out of the wall didn't stop the movie.

"Okay, this is just too strange! What's going on?!" Y/N threw her hands up in the air in exasperation. I suppose I'll have to watch the ending AGAIN."

She sat down on the sofa, watching the Banana Splits playing music and nodding her head to their song. Then Y/N saw something that sent shivers down her spine: the film time on the DVD player wasn't moving ... not one second.

Hang on, if the DVD player isn't playing ... then how are they ...?

Tra, la, la, la, la ... la ... la ...

...

The song slowly and scarily trailed off as the Banana Splits ceased their music. Fleegle and Drooper put down their guitars, while Bingo and Snorky left their instruments and walked to the sides of their fellow animatronics.

The scene with the animatronics then grew to cover the entire tv screen.

The Banana Splits seemed to be staring point blank at the camera ... no, not at the camera, through the camera ... through the screen ...

At Y/N.

Oh my! It looks like Y/N's got some attention ... I'm not sure if it's a good thing though.
