Chapter- five

Note: Kyle is now Ace!

Gym was pretty tiresome. Sweaty and exhausted, I and Ginny were lumbering towards the changing room with heavy feet. I hated coach Samuel today. He made us sprint across the school ground 3 times and then there was hurdle race followed by 50 push ups. Ginny was just few nanoseconds away from swearing her head off before the bell rang. After the period got over we barely had any energy left in us to even drag ourselves to the changing room. And then like an angel from heaven someone informed that Mrs Douglas our history teacher who had the next period was on leave so we had it free. And that little news lighted up our moods by some fraction.

On our way to changing room several boys waved at Ginny and she waved back with an superficial smile, while I stood there watching hearts in their eyes as they did that. It happened often a while. Ginny was the most popular girl (until my and Aidan's rumour incident) out of the three of us. That's because of her classy Korean looks. Yes, Ginny Waters was half Korean. Actually Ginny's grand mom was from Korea and when she married Ginny's grandfather who was an american her grandmother moved to America. Ginny had inherited small coal black eyes and gorgeous straight black hair,  which I had always been secretly jealous of, from her grandmother. She indeed was very pretty and had many boys swarm around her like bees to flower.

Right when we were about to enter the changing room I spotted Lily Marshals talking with some guy from the soccer team. She wore a tight black top that hugged her curves perfectly and a pink mini skirt which showed off her long toned legs. She laughed gratingly moving her hands in the air as the blonde soccer player whispered something into her ear. My blood boiled when I saw her. How could she ruin my school life and then stand there laughing like bloody hyenas?

"Hey Ginny, look. Lily," I grabbed Ginny's pale arms, stopping her from entering inside the room and pointed towards Lily. Ginny's curious eyes found Lily who was still unaware of us standing there. She glared at Lily before replying, "Come on, let's teach that bitch a lesson,". And with that she began to march towards her like she was ready to shoot her head off but I pulled her back by her arm.

"Woah! easy there Ginny! We can't directly accuse her of spreading the rumours. It's not like she is gonna spill the beans so easily," I tried reasoned Ginny, who looked at me with wide eyes full of disbelief.

"Jess what is wrong with you? Of course she will! And if she won't, then I'll pull off all her-"

"Okay! Okay! Okay! Here's the thing- we will go there but only I'll talk to Lily while you'll stand their like a sane people would. If you promise me you would then you'r welcome to join me or else stay here ," I made it clearly to Ginny, who looked no less than a crazy chimp. I literally had to keep a firm grip on her arm so that she won't run off to Lily and scratch her whole face with her nails or do anything like that. Believe me Ginny had audacity to do that.

"Fine.." She muttered, rolling her eyes. I smiled at her before ambling towards Lily. Ginny followed me shortly.

"Hey Lily," Lily's eyes widen a little due to surprise but shortly a smile covered that. Ginny was standing beside me with a grumpy face and her arms folded against her chest.

"Hey JC! What's up?" I forced a smile on my face. I seriously had not expected Lily to act so normal. Ginny grunted at Lily's friendly reply and I had to nudge her with an elbow, reminding her to behave.

"It's Jess now,"

"Oh. Cool."

"So tell me do you have anything to do with the rumours about me and Aidan?" Lily looked confused. Very confused. If she was acting, then I have to admit that she played the role with topmost excellency.

"I am sorry but I don't understand what you are talking about?"

"Listen bitch! Admit that you are the one behind all this or I swear I'll pull off every single hair of yours and burn them right in front of you!" I face palmed myself. Oh Ginny!

Lily looked horrid and stunned. Her eyes widen at Ginny's unexpected outburst and seemed ready to fall out. She was looking at Ginny as if she was some monster and on contrary, Ginny looked no less than that.

"W-what?"

"What Ginny trying to ask here is that do you have anything to do with the rumours," I glared at Ginny through the conner of my eyes but she seemed to be least worried about it. She had her eyes focused right on Lily, who literally shivered under her gaze.

Lily's blue eyes drifted to me, widen with shock. "What? Of course not!" She protested.

"Then why did you tell my mom that I am hanging out with Aidan?"

"I never actually said that. Your mom came to my home yesterday to ask about you. She was pretty worried and I told her that you were at school because you had got detention. That's because you were talking to Aidan Black during the english period. That's all I swear!" I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at her while she begged me to believe on her.

"That's all?"

"Yes! I swear,"

Maybe Lily was right and she actually wasn't behind all this. And just when I was about to tell her that I believed her, I heard a low maniac snicker escape Ginny lips. Her eyes were focused on the floor and she had a creepy psychotic smile pasted over her face. Unconsciously, I gulped. Ginny indeed looked very scary at that moment.

"And you think we would believe on you? Hehe that indeed is very stupid you of you. Because-"

"I am not lying! Jess believe me! Why would I do this to you? We used to be good friends in school remember? But there is something I can do. I can help you find who is behind all this," now this was something different. Yes, Lily and I use to be sort of friends when young but then we drifted apart because our worlds were totally different.

"And how will you do that?" 

"It's kinda easy. As this rumour has spread so fast, it couldn't have started through some gossip. Rumours spread sluggishly through gossips. To make it a forest fire, the person who is behind this must have used some popular social networking site to spread the message fast. If I could find out the root post or tweet or what ever it was, I can easily find out who is behind this. But I need some time for that," I actually felt like I was in some thriller movie. Wow! I never knew Lily was this smart.

"You can do that? Wow! It's so cool!" I clapped both my hands together, smiling like an idiot.

"Jess, I have some important work to do, see you later!" Lily left.

I turned to Ginny, still grinning. She had a 'my best friend betrayed me. Now I have nothing else to live for' face. I rolled my eyes.

"Ginny, give her a chance what if she is really not lying? What if there is some else behind all this?"

Ginny scoffed.

"Whatever you say Jess. But that doesn't mean I trust her, at all," Ginny said before walking away and disappearing into the girls washroom.

Aidan didn't look at me once. He was standing meters away from me holding two test tubes one containing pink liquid and another one with transparent liquid probably HCl.

He was wearing his black jacket and I couldn't deny that he looked really good in it. From what all I had observe about him in last four days was that he was very reserved types. He hardly talked to anyone, just when needed and had no friends except a blonde guy from my history class. His name was Jaxon maybe. They weren't exactly friends but he was the only guy Aidan talked to. Unlike Aidan, Jaxon was kinda talkative and total jock.

"Hey Jess do we have to add pink liquid or this yellow one?" Ace asked. He was my lab partner. Though there is no deny that I really enjoyed Ace's company, he wasn't the best lab partner out there. He almost blasted our table just a few moments ago.

"Add ferric dichromate," I mumbled stirring the salt solution in my hands.

"Um..what?"

"The yellow one,"  Ace wasn't really the brightest person with chemicals.

We finished our experiment fairly soon, though I would have completed it sooner without Ace. After finishing I started making notes. I don't know when my eyes drifted towards Aidan and the next thing I know was that I was staring at Aidan. He was working alone.

The pink and transparent liquid were still as it is in the tubes and he looked slightly confused. I thought of helping him out but I knew that would only lead to more problems.

He finally picked up both the test tubes and bought them closer. My eyes widen. He was about to mix them! The most reactive chemicals! It's going to blast!

I dropped my pen and ran towards his counter. Next thing I knew was I was trying to snatch away the test tubes from Aidan.

"Stop! Don't do it!"

"What the fuck is your problem? Stay away!" He was a little surprised. I could tell it from the way his blue eyes widen.

"Don't mix them!"

He glared at me. It was the most intense and dangerous glare I had ever seen. I almost backed off.

"Which part of get the fuck lost don't you understand? How many times do I have to tell you? Stay. Away. From. Me!" He tried to take away the test tubes from my tight grip. We were creating a scene as everyone was looking at us. Fortunately Mr MacLeon wasn't in the class or else we would have kicked out of the class long ago.

"Stop it A- oh shit!" I shrieked as transparent chemical spilled over my hand and I felt  burning sensation across it. I wasn't wearing any gloves, I took them out while making notes. 

"Holy shit! Wash your hand now!" Some girls said as I felt my hand being forced under the tap of cold running water. I had sensitive skin so the chemical left dark red rashes on my hands which were very irritating. 

"Hey Jess are you okay?" Ace was standing beside me, looking at me with worried eyes.

"I am fine. There are just some rashes that's all. I should have taken more care-"

"No Jess! It's not your mistake. It's all because of that freak!" Ace angrily strode towards Aidan "what the hell is your problem huh? Why can't you stay away from Jess?"

Aidan looked at Ace angrily as he curled his fingers into fists. This wasn't going to end well.

"Why don't you tell your girlfriend to stay away from me!"

Ace let out a humourless laugh.

"Dream on freak! Jess would never be interested in you! And incase you didn't notice she was trying to save you from blasting your chemicals." I looked at Ace with widen eyes and then at Aidan who looked taken back.

"Did I ask her to? No."

Could he be possible more rude? I just saved him and the people around him from an accident and even got my hand semi burned, and what do I get in return? His juvenile attitude! This was unbelievable!

My head hurt and I felt weird in my stomach. I couldn't feel the burning irritating sensation in my hand now, it was the last thing in my mind.

I gathered myself, went to my table, collected my books and left the class. Ace tried to stop me but I couldn't be there in a same class with him. I could no more handle Aidan's rude behaviour. This was it.

I feel terrible! 😭😭 Its has been months since I last updated! I feel so bad! I can't tell you guys how sorry I am! 😓😓
