I meet Peko in my office, unbeknownst to me that Chihiro was listening through the door.

Vesper: Enlighten me.

Peko: You didn't tell me that Fuyuhiko handed me over to you.

Vesper: I didn't want to drop it on you before the heist, I wanted you to stay focused.

Peko threw her arms across my desk, taking everything off of it.

Vesper: Peko....please....

Peko looked at me with a pure rage in her eyes, and slapped me across the face.

Peko: I....I wanted you to be different....to treat me like a human being....but you accepted me like a mere object....without telling me....

Vesper: It's not like that! I was going to tell you!

Peko: You wanted me for my skills! You would have thrown me away just like Fuyuhiko did!

Vesper: He cared about you! And thought that you would be safe with me!

Peko went silent as her tear ridden eyes stared at me.

Peko: I can't trust you....

Peko ran out of the room, narrowly missing Chihiro with the door.

Vesper: Peko! Wait!

I ran after Peko outside, cutting through a crowd in the rain ridden street.

In a flash of lightning, I lost Peko in the crowd.

I desperately shouted for her.

Vesper: Peko! Please come back!

I felt tears on my face roll down my cheeks, mixing with the rain water.

Vesper: Peko!

My determination waived.

Vesper: Peko....

I stood in the rain....

Alone....

Without her....

I felt a hand take mine.

It was Chihiro.

She knew what happened, and tried to keep me from breaking down by holding my hand.

I need to stay strong.

But Peko....

I love her....
