Nightmares
Dallons pov:
It's been almost half a year since I got hospitalized. Brendon is practically living in the hospital with me. He looks so tired, like he barely sleeps every night. I asked him if he was okay. He said it was just another nightmare. He's been having them ever since I got hospitalized. He just recently told me he was having them, but I knew it had been going on a lot longer. Sometimes I wake up to him screaming in his sleep. I wish I could comfort him. It hurts me to see him like this.
I can't stop myself from crying. Brendon rushes over to the side of my bed. "What's wrong he asks with a look of fear and sadness in his eyes. "I can't keep torturing you like this," I say. "You're not torturing me Dal," Brendon says reassuringly. I tell him that I know he's not sleeping. He grabs my hand and tells me he wants to show me something.
We go for a walk around the hospital. We stop and sit down on a pile of rocks that are facing the lake behind the hospital. I'm holding his hand looking at the clouds as they move in front of the sun. Brendon turns around and grabs a note book from his bag. When he opens it I see page after page of sheet music.
He tells me his therapist had him write songs to express his feelings of loss. He says that they are all about me. He sings them in order of how he wrote them, starting with 'Nicotine'. He explains to me the meaning behind the song and how he was feeling at the time.
My eyes start to water up when Brendon looks at me. He tells me all of these songs are going on his new album, 'Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die'.
