It had been long that he had gone,
It had been long since his last call,
It had been long since they had met,
It had been long since she found something set.
It was rainy outside, it was a havoc inside,
And besides stood nothing but a blank mind,
Everything of theirs crumbled at time's might,
Except the shimmer of the far-off city-lights,
She looked ahead into the skyline,
Why, Manik, did you draw our line?

Far away in distant land,
He stood under the darkened clouds,
As grey as him, as grey as his life,
The ticking clock did it's job,
He had signed away the papers that weren't fraud,
But, he too had signed a contract with no applaud,
Where had he gotten himself and why?
If he had an answer, he now promised, he would never succumbed as a fly,
He should have known she was behind,
He should have known she was besides.
