It was far away in the land of Denmark, 

She stood by the windows, 

Soaking in the wind of nature and words, 

"Don't forget me, promise. "

"Oh silly, never would I

Hold up, I'll be with the next wind that breezes by!" 

His car she awaited, 

For the reunion of mates was stated. 

It was a trophy for the outside world that day, 

But for Fab 5- it was the victory of their friendship they would say, 

Long- she awaited for the car, 

Returned nothing but her fireflies' broken jar.

The door bell rang musically loud, 

Grasping her attention out of her thought's crowd, 

"Di, I'm here, all hungry, come down! 

I have a lot to tell and ask, it's long please don't frown!" 

She heard Rishabh's voice echo from downstairs, 

And her darling brother's excitement demanded all the care!

She descended down, ruffling his hair on her way,

"Jaldi Ana! Your raisin banana bread was delic I must say!" 

"Thank you, ma'am. I know I'm great and awesome. How was your day, by the way?" 

"Brilliantly fine!" she replied happily back, 

The worries were gone and those thoughts were for some other day.

She fixed up a table with some milk and his cake, 

Nothing was better than the day-end with her brother's bake, 

Rishabh returned, running down the stairs and hugged her tight, 

"I missed you, Snuggle-Potato, despite a day so fun!" 

"Lagta hi meine kuch miss kiya hi! Batao yeh choti, shy smile-is this what Ana' s done?"

"She! Nothing much, but said a yes. Oh dude, you should have been there she was such a mess."

Rishabh blushed excited about his love's confess, 

After all it was a big step towards happiness,

"So brother boy, now officially has a girlfriend" Nandini beamed.

And it goes without an iota of thought that I and her are teamed!"

"Not fair, di! As friends, aap uski side hamesha rehte hi and now to!

Then, kyu kehto ho ki pyaar karte ho?"

"Cause you are smart, Rishu but I'm smarter -agree it and then you can see mein kya kehti hoon? 

"What nonsense! I won't agree! Raho aap us chipakali ki side, I don't mind!"

"Chal, I'll give you a better option, how about accept that cricket match mein you dropped the catch intentionally so that Ana could play with you at the expense of my game! And that sadness was an act of the kind!"

"No way in the world! My hands were slippery. Why would I do that?", Rishabh stammered in defense,

"Liar liar pants on fire", Nandini caught his pretense,

"Tch, acha tell me please! Could I take her out tonight, 

A surprise date by the riverside site?" 

Nandini stopped in her tracks at the first stair, 

She turned back, hiding a teasing smile behind her mischievous glare, 

"Your not that big, hold on to your horses!"

Sadden at the denial, Rishabh untangled the fingers that held his crosses, 

Nandini saw the fading of his smile and added further, 

"I wouldn't let you jump around after such a big step, ever! 

But, I would let you go if you promise to maintain the line of maturity forever."

Rishabh's frown disappeared at her last words,

It was a yes, he joyed and hugged her afterwards,

"Of course I would be sound and careful, very responsible 

Not get in trouble,"

"Thank you so much, but remember this and also that it would be only 30 minutes before she would be fast asleep"

Rishabh dropped Nandini down from his hold, 

"11.30! Oh  shit, she sleeps by midnight for sure!"

He fetched the keys, kissed her good night,

Broom-ing through the streets, he gathered his word's for him vs. her parent's fight, 

 There would a sleuth of questions kicking in to bring her out,

"Be bold!" He uttered to himself and  soon, rang the door bell, scared excitement still lingering about.

Far away back at home, Nandini closed the door, bolt it tight shut, 

He was a breeze of happiness like a child's kiddish scout.

The day was long, slow and sound, 

Tomorrow, she reckoned, would be longer and hopefully, newfound.
