Chapter-1
Beads of sweat formed on my head. I was running as fast as I could. My name echoed through the stadium. I smirked to myself as I passed every player who tried to block me. The clock ticked with seconds.
"Jina! Jina! Jina!" Everyone cheered.
"Jina has the ball and she's close to the basket. We have just 10 seconds left." The anchor said.
"Yes, the seconds are ticking by and Jina's on the run." The other anchor said.
A player from the opponent team tried blocking me but I passed the ball to my teammate, Kyuhyun. She dribbled the ball while I ran towards the ball post.
"Now, Kyuhyun has the ball. She's going to put a basket but passes it to Jina." The anchor said. "Jina has the ball and throws the ball towards the basket."
The ball was revolving on the ring. Our hearts were beating faster than ever. This was the moment of my life. The moment that would decide my future. The moment that would make me go to the next level. Everything was on this moment. My eyes were stuck to the ring and then at the clock as the seconds passed by.
"Two seconds left. Will it make a basket in time to break this tie or will it fall? This is a very- and YES! The ball has made its basket at its last second and Seoul has won!" The anchor said.
I whooped in happiness as I ran around the court. I hugged Kyuhyun and we both jumped around.
"Seoul has won 'The Korean Basketball Nationals' by 26 points!" The anchor said.
"YES! THAT'S MY GIRL!" My boyfriend shouted. I looked at my boyfriend and smiled. I was so happy. Tears flowed from my eyes. Tears filled with happiness. We had won the nationals.

We shook hands with our opponent team as we went to the center of the stadium. We got on the stage and I stood in the middle. The president of Korea gave us gold medals and handed us the huge trophy. We held it together and whopped. We took a photo together and then I passed the trophy to one of my teammates. I kissed my medal.
"Jina Lee, how do you feel about this victory?" The anchor asked. I was handed the mic. I held the mic tight in my hands as I brought it towards my mouth to speak. I said "Hello..."
The crowd shouted as I started. Tears flowed from my eyes again. "Jina, don't cry." Some of them said from the crowd. I wiped away my tears and started "Hello everyone! I feel so happy. I feel honored. We all worked for years to reach this level and I'm glad to say that our hard work had paid off. I feel proud of myself. Thanks to our coach, Mr. Kim. He made us practice a lot to reach to this level. Thanks a lot, Mr. Kim. Hope we get to the internationals."
The crowd cheered and shouted as I said.
"So... what are you gonna do after winning this other than practicing for the internationals?" The anchor asked.
"Umm..." I hummed.
"Jina, Date me!"
"Jina, I love you!"
"Jina, Will you marry me?"
I heard different people from the crowd say. I laughed out loud. I said, as I stopped laughing "Sorry, but I'm already taken."
"Awww" I heard few sigh out heavily.
"So, who's this boyfriend of yours? Do you mind telling it to the whole country?" The anchor asked.
"Sorry, but I can't. I don't want- you know-like-"
"She doesn't want anyone interfering in her personal life." Kyuhyun said on the mic.
I glared at her. "So, Jina, you didn't answer my previous question. What are you gonna do now other than practicing?" The anchor asked.
"Umm... spend more time with my boyfriend and with friends because I barely spent time with them. Especially my boyfriend cause I was too busy with the practices and all that stuff so... yeah, spend time with my close ones."
"Wow! That's nice. I don't wanna ask anything more as you guys might be tired so let's do this another time." The anchor said. "But then congratulations on your victory. Let's give a huge round of applause."
The stadium echoed with claps and shouts. I was so happy. We had won the nationals.

I was walking through the halls of the stadium with my bag on my shoulders. My eyes never left the gold medal. I was proud of myself. I kept walking as I didn't lift up my eyes from my medal. Suddenly, I bumped into someone's chest.
"You should look at your surroundings while walking, babe."
I looked up to see who it was. I smiled as I saw the person. I threw myself at him as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me tightly. He nuzzled into the crook of my neck and said "You won!"
"We won!"
He let go off me. We both looked at each other's eyes. I was looking deep into his eyes. We didn't break eye contact until when we heard footsteps near us. We broke eye contact and turned around to look behind. We saw the media running towards us. They stopped in front of us and held up mics at me.
"Ms.Jina, is this your boyfriend?"
"Are you guys dating?"
They kept bombarding me with questions. I looked back at him and he stomped away. I felt bad. He hated attention. Especially from the media.
"Look, I'm so sorry but I gotta go. Please don't interfere in my personal life. I'm so sorry if I was being mean. Thanks." I said, before walking away. They kept calling out my name but then I didn't turn back because all I wanted was him. I ran through the corridors, taking sharp turns. I needed him.
Every time after any tournament, the media would ask me questions. Every time the media would see him with me but then he always ended up showing his back. Every time he would run away if the media was around. But then that time the media saw his face and he hated it. I knew it.
I needed him. I really did. Even though my legs ached with pain from all the running, I didn't care. All I needed was him. I finally found him at a corner. I ran towards him and finally caught my breath. He didn't even care to look at me.
Why does the media have to come after every tournament?
"Tae..." I called out slowly as I held his arm. He sighed out heavily before turning his gaze towards me.
"Tae... I'm sorry. It's not my fault-"
"Jina... I'm tired of this. I really am. I'm tired of being surrounded with the media after every tournament."
"What am I supposed to do about that? I keep telling them to not interfere in my personal life."
"There's only one solution to this problem?"
"And what is it? I'd do anything. I love you, Tae. Just tell me what I need to do."
"You'd do anything?"
"Yes"
"Okay then... Jina... let's break up."
