I read the paper once again that had the house address.

Why do I have to do this?

"Because you seem to be good with kids and have the experience."

My mom's voice rang in my head from when she asked me just 2 days ago.

"Come on. Its only one Friday night and she really needed the help. No one else could do it so I volunteered for you." She had said.

"But why me? Why not some other kid or Josh? He's a nerd and isn't afraid of ruining his reputation" I had asked

"He's having a meeting with his Science Club and I trust you more with kids. You were always so well with-"

"Okay, fine, I'll do it. But only this once. And don't mention her mom. Please." I had cut her off.

"Thank you. And okay. I love you!" She had yelled when I left the kitchen

"Love you too!" I yelled back mumbling.

I walked right when I saw William street and looked through the numbers until I saw the numbers 213 on the brown door of a regular sized white house.

I walked up the steps and rang the door bell. After waiting a few seconds I rang it again. Still nothing. I kept ringing it non stop until I heard stomping foot steps and a yell.

I smirked at the person who must be super pissed on the other side of the door.

The door swung open and she began ranting but cut off when she saw me.

"Jesus Christ I told you to-" she said and looked at her eye level which was the top of my chest.

She looked up and said "oh"

I smirked.

"Hi I'm looking for-" I began to say but she shut the door on my face.

I waited there for a second and shrugged before turning around.

I'll just tell mom then didn't need a sitter. Problem solved. I thought

But before I even took my second step down the porch steps, a voice stopped me.

"Wait, David right?" The same girl said

I turned my head and saw her pretty face sticking out of the door giving me a questioning look.

"Dylan" I corrected.

"Whatever. You're the sitter right?" She asked.

"Yeah" I answered.

"Come in" she said and pulled her head inside standing up right while opening the door more.

I turned around and walked inside. She closed the door behind me and started rambling and walking everywhere putting on her shoes and fixing everything up.

"Okay so Elliot is in his room playing. He needs to be in bed by 8:30. You can watch TV and order a pizza by then. My mom's and my cell numbers are on the fridge if there's an emergency or if you have any questions and DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT invite your friends or some girl over. I've seen guys like you and no offense but I don't trust you. So don't do anything stupid. Lastly, do NOT go in my room and my parent's is locked. I don't know really when I'll be back and I'm usually the one who takes care of him so let's see if he likes you." She finished her rant and stood in front of me staring up at me.

"Any questions before I leave?" She asked

"Nope." I said.

"Okay well then bye. Elliot I'm leaving!" She yelled.

I heard running foot steps coming down the stairs and then came a boy with the same almost pale skin with dark brown hair as her but he has hazel eyes while hers are a very light blue.

His PJ's were a gray with red and blue cars on them as she bent down and gave him a hug and kiss.

She released him and said "Dylan is going to be your babysitter okay little man? I'll be coming back in a little bit and mom's working the late shift"

He looked at me in awe and said a small "hi"

She chuckled.

I kneeled down to his level and said "Hey Elliot. Nice to meet you" and held out my hand.

He put his head down shyly and his fingers in his mouth as he shook my hand with his other one gently.

"How old are you?" I asked

He held 5 fingers up with his hand.

"He's very shy around new people. But trust me, once you get to know him, he's a little monster. Right Elliot?"

He turned his head back to her and shook his head up and down vigorously.

She stuck her tongue out playfully and he laughed.

The girl stood up straight and headed for the door.

"Wait!" Elliot yelled running to her, pulling on her beige jacket.

"What?" She stopped and turned to him.

"You forgot to give me a hug and kiss goodbye!" He said

She chuckled and kneeled down to him while saying "I already did!" But still did what he asked.

"Love you!" She said

"Love you too!" He replied.

The girl closed the door and locked it. I sat on the couch at the living room.

"So what do you want to do?" I asked

He shrugged with his fingers in his mouth and turned around, walking somewhere.

I followed him up to his room where he had a little cars bed with a train track, cars, blue room, stickers, everything cars and blue.

He started playing with these old styled cars and I sat down with him.

I looked around the room and said "So you like cars, huh?"

He nodded and gave me a little green car while he played with a blue one.

We played cars and ordered pizza at around 7 while watching Toy Story in the living room and by around 8 we paused the movie so he could go use the bathroom and brush his teeth. After that he fell asleep during the movie, I carried him to his bed, tucked him in, and went downstairs to watch the last 15 minutes of the movie when the girl showed up.

"How was it?" She asked

"Good" I stood up from the couch.

"Any issues or anything?" She asked, wanting more details.

"Nah" I shrugged and put my hands in my pockets.

"Okay well I'm gonna go check if he's alright and tell him you're leaving" she said awkwardly

"Okay" I said nonchalant

I watched her go up the stairs and disappear. Maybe checking her out a little. She's cute and she seems...different.

She came back down after a minute.

"Yeah he seems to have liked you. I told him that you're leaving so yeah and oh!" She reached into her bag and took out 20 bucks.

"Nah my mom asked as a favor so I wouldn't really wanna take money" I said

"You sure?" She asked surprised

"Uh yeah" I can't believe I didn't take that money. But mom would kill me if I did, so...

"Oh ok." She said and put it back inside.

"Well, bye." I said looking at her.

"Oh yeah! Bye" she said looking like she was coming out of a daze and opened the door. But when I was half way out a little voice yelled.

"Wait!" He said and came running. I turned around and he knocked over a little in a hug.

I bent down and gave him a hug.

He let go and said "I want you to have this" it was the little green car.

I looked at the girl for reassurance and she smiled even though she seemed a bit surprised.

"Thanks Ellie" I said and took it.

"Are you gonna come back?" He asked

"Yeah. Maybe next time if you're sister needs help again next time if that's alright" I said looking at him then her.

She nodded while giving a toothless grin.

"Okay" he nodded

"Come on Elliot, Dylan has to get home too" the girl said

"Okay" he looked up at her then me and waved.

"Bye" he said

I stood up and said "Bye" then turned around and walked home with that little green car in my hand.
