Chapter 29

Losing no time, I ran towards the bar and got myself a Coke. Gosh! I can't believe I forgot about everything and everyone while I was dancing with Asher. Once the bartender handed me my drink, I chugged it in one gulp.

"Woah, careful there." The bartender pointed at my actions, while laughing making me even more embarrassed.

"I'm sorry." I replied bashfully, looking at everywhere but him.

"Don't be." He chuckled. "Nice dance it was, by the way." The bartender said, appreciatively.

"Thanks." I mumbled, smiling at him. "Can I have another one, please?" I asked, handing him my glass.

"Sure." He took back my glass. "So what's your name, pretty lady?" I felt my face heat up at the mention of pretty lady. How can he find me pretty? I am anything but pretty. This guy on the other hand, is really cute. He's even got dimples that could swoon any girl. "Um, hello?" The bartender was waving his hand in front of me to get my attention back. Shit! I zoned out again. Damn it!

"Um, oh yeah," I laughed nervously. "My name is Emberly." I replied taking my now filled glass of coke and took a sip. "What's yours?"

"I'm Eric. Pleased to meet you." He smiled showing off his gorgeous dimples. I was about to say same here, when I felt a body collapse on me making some of my drink spill on the granite table.

"What the hell happened on the dance floor?!" Ally slurred draping her arm on my shoulder. "I didn't know that my bitch was so talented." Alicia dragged the word 'so' to give it a more dramatic effect. She'll never change.

"I, um, I think it was the music." I shrugged, not wanting to talk about my dance with the devil.

"Sure, it was." Monica sarcastically replied, sitting beside me. Oh, she's here too. "You two were practically having sex on the dance floor and you're telling me it was the music, really?!" Monica crudely replied, making me spit the coke that I was drinking on the table. I was looking at Monica as if she's grown multiple heads and all she did was smile mischievously at me.

"She's right, you know." Ally added, with her eyes slightly closed. "I saw the hungry caveman look on his face when he was dancing with you. Ahh, how much I'd pay to see Nick in such an Alpha male look." Ally sighed dreamily. "You're so lucky, Emmy." She garbled.

If only you knew, I thought to myself.

"Um, I'll just go to the washroom." I excused myself before heading towards the washroom. While walking, I noticed how happy Asher was when he was talking to his grandmother. He was smiling. This was a genuine smile, the one that only lucky people were allowed to see. Unfortunately, I wasn't among those people.

I shook my head before looking for the washroom. In an attempt to escape the not so delightful conversation with Ally, I completely forgot to ask Monica where this washroom was.

I was now completely away from the dancefloor, even the music could be faintly heard. All I could see was multiple corridors. Well, this is creepy. I'm such a stupid girl. I should have asked Monica to come with me. Anyways, the pee could wait. I need to get out of here.

Just when I was about to turn away from where I was and go back to my seat, I felt someone fiercely yank my arm and drag me to a darker area.

I was about to scream when a hand was placed on my mouth to prevent me from yelling out for help. I tried to wriggle out of the person's strong hold but in vain. The person roughly pushed me against the wall making me cry out behind his hand.

"Wow, you're definitely a feisty one." The person mockingly said. Oh my God, I knew this voice. I've heard it somewhere. If only there was some light here, I could have seen his face. "Now, I'll let go of your mouth, but you need to promise me not to scream." The scornful voice ordered. I nodded my head, abiding by his orders. A second later, he removed his hand from my mouth. I took this time to take a deep breath.

"Who are you?" I asked, my breath coming out in pants.

"Oh, I'm hurt, darling." The person said in a dramatic mocking style. "Forgot me and my dance already?"

Stephan.

"What are you doing? Let me go." I said in a hard tone, ignoring the racing of my heart right now. I wriggled against him, trying to get free but this time, he chose to grip both my arms so hardly that my eyes welled up. "Let go of me." I said, gritting my teeth which caused him to clench his hands harder making me wince.

"You know," He began with a slight sneer in his voice. "You'd be better off without Asher." His comment startled me. Who the hell is he to tell me what I am supposed to do?!

"Just shut up and let me go." I ordered, ignoring the pain in my arms.

"Oh, never darling." He laughed bitterly. "You're wasting your time with Asher and he's a very dangerous chaser."

"Whatever." I spat, struggling against his terrible hold on me.

"Don't tell me you're falling for him." He snickered. "He'll dump you once he's bored of you." He said venomously. "Why don't you leave him and come with me. I'll keep you happy." He offered making me frown in disgust.

"Never." I argued. "I will not leave Asher for a bastard like you. Asher might be anything but at least he doesn't hurt girls, like you." I said spitefully. I felt proud of myself when I said this but apparently this didn't go well with him because a second later, I felt a hard slap on my face making me fall down.

I had to bite my lips to prevent myself from screaming.

I felt Stephan bend down to his knees and he grasped a fistful of my hair bringing my face closer to him, "You'll regret this." He said rancorously making me cringe away from his touch. He was about to say something else when we both heard the faint voice of Ally coming from one of the corridors. Thank God.

"If you tell anyone about our little encounter, I'll will personally cause lots of physical harm to this pretty boyfriend of yours. Get it.?" He spat, letting go of my hair and left the corridor leaving me alone.

Once he was out of sight, I allowed myself to cry over my misery. What have I gotten myself into?! I can't even tell anyone about this.

"Emmy?" I heard Ally calling out. "Oh my gosh, Emmy." She said, worriedly running to me. Losing no time, I wiped my tears.

She came by my side and helped me to get up.

"What happened? Why are you in such a state?" She shot questions anxiously. "And why was Stephan here?" Shit.

"Y-You saw him?" I asked her, my voice cracking in the end.

"Yeah, I saw him. He was looking quite angry. What happened?"

"N-Nothing." I replied quickly, remembering his harsh words. "Let's go."

"No, we are not going anywhere until you tell me what happened. Did he hurt you?" Once these words were out of her mouth, I began to sob uncontrollably.

"Hey, hey, it's fine. I'm here." Ally whispered, embracing me in a warm hug. "Sshh, don't cry." She began to say soothing words to calm me down.

"He- he—" Just when I was about to narrate Ally the whole story, I saw the shadow of a person at the beginning of the corridor.

"Emberly?" Asher asked looking at me with a frown on his gorgeous face.

Crap.
