Welp you guys chose to run. So that's what I'm doing now. Hope you enjoy.

Y/n's POV

I looked down and tightened my grip on my weapon. I looked down in defeat. Ruby had that determined look on her face. I looked down and sighed.

Y/n: I'm sorry...

I made an exit with myself charging at Ruby. I wasn't going to make the first hit. I was just going to block and move. Her semblance was the worst thing possible at this moment.

She swung at me but I dodged. It and pushed her away. Again, because of my anger I had increased strength. I had pushed her over and got a shadow clone to go on top of her.

Ruby: Gah! Let go of me!

I made an exit. I knew the clone would only last for about 10 seconds.

Ruby: Guys! Grab him. I'm fine!

They nodded but at this point I was too far gone. I used the momentum of my weapon to push me forward. This all happened so fast. I was out of the town and I looked back to see small figures of Team RNJR. They had stopped running.

I went into the forest to catch my breath. I was panting heavily.

Y/n: I'm so sorry. But I need to do my own thing.

Ruby's POV

I saw the rest of team RNJR Coming back without him. I knew what this meant. I broke down and started crying.

Nora: Ruby...

She put her hand on my shoulder to console me.

Ruby: Why does he always have to go and do dangerous things that might get him killed...?

Nora stayed silent. She shood the rest of the guys away to make camp for the night.

Nora: Let's go Ruby.

We stood up and started walking.

Ruby: Can I walk on my own for a bit?

She nodded and went away to the other guys leaving me alone. My right arm was on my left shoulder.

Ruby: 'Why Y/n?! Why do you always have to go and try to get yourself killed!? I don't get it...'

I looked down angered. My mind then starts racing, thinking about everything that happened. With the fact that Y/n's uncle may have been killed to the thing that happened around a few minutes ago. I've never felt like my blood was boiling but now it was.

Ruby: 'Maybe we should just... '

I looked at my scroll to see that Y/n still had the tiniest connection to me on the scroll. I knew if I didn't call him know I may never will. I decided to click call.

Y/n: (Answers call) ...

Ruby: Y/n where are you right now!?

The call was a little hazy because of the bad signal.

Y/n: Ruby... I...

Ruby: Don't even think about apologising.

Y/n: Ruby, I just want to say that if this is the last time I talk to-

Ruby: No! Don't talk like that. Just come back I'll send you the co-ordinates-

Y/n: I'm not coming back.

Ruby: Why!?

Y/n: Because I want to do something without you being so controlling! I want to do my own thing!

I was taken aback. Ive never heard Y/n lash out like this other than before.

Y/n: This past year you've been so over protective and controlling over me. Like never letting me go too far away from the house or you never let me kill any Grimm Or you wouldn't let me go out and see my uncle who might be d-.

Ruby: You know what Just go! I don't want to see your stupid face anymore.

Y/n: Ruby...

Ruby: I don't care.

Y/n: Wha- I... Ruby...

Ruby: ...

Y/n: Well... If this is the last time I talk to you... I love you.

Ruby: I...

[CALL DISCONNECTED - WEAK SIGNAL]

I broke down again. This time with my hands in my face.

Ruby: 'What was I even saying!? I didn't even mean any if that... It just came out of my mouth... I have to make things right.'

I opened my scroll as tears were dropping on the screen. I clicked call again but it never reached. I put my hands on my face in shame.

Ruby: How could I say that to him...

I thought about what was said and one certain thing stuck in my mind.

Ruby: 'This past year you've been so over protective and controlling over me. Like never letting me go too far away from the house or you never let me kill any Grimm Or you wouldn't let me go out and see my uncle who might be d-.'

I pondered what he told me and realised what he said was true. I slide and sat down with me hands on the side of my face in shame.

Ruby: He was right. I was... Y/n, I'm so sorry just come back to me...

I heard rustling beside the trees and just sat there. Grimm or no Grimm I didn't really care. I just felt terrible right now.

Nora: Hey... I heard what happened.

Ruby: Nora... I made a huge mistake. I wasn't thinking straight and I said something I shouldn't have.

Nora: If you didn't mean it call him.

I showed her my scroll and put my head down and hugged me face.

Ruby: I might never talk to him again and I... I shouted at him. I... I don't know what to do...

Nora: Don't worry. I know he'll come back. I'm sure of it. Then you can tell him that you never meant it. And also if you really was so "controlling" then you can fix it.

Ruby: I hope so.

Y/n's POV

I was sobbing uncontrollably. The weight of everything that happened finally started to weigh in on me. Plus the relationship between me and Ruby was In jeapordy.

Y/n: It doesn't matter anymore.

I heard rustling from the bushes. I looked and saw a friendly face.

Y/n: Q-Qrow!?

Qrow: Hey.

Y/n: What are you even doing here?! How did you get here?!

Qrow: Look, that's not important right now. What's important is making sure that your safe.

Y/n: Your not here to talk me out of this are you?

Qrow: That's exactly what I'm going to do.

Y/n: (Sigh)

Qrow: Look, I know the people who did this. They're very dangerous people.

Y/n: You know them?!

Qrow: I'm pretty sure. Plus, They have a maiden with them.

Y/n: They do!?

Qrow: That's what I believe.

I looked down and pondered.

Qrow: Look don't make this hard. Just go back to The rest of the team. They miss you.

Y/n: Heh. You sure about that?

He was confused. I played him the recent call with Ruby and he was shocked. He didn't know where this came from.

Qrow: Look I'm sure she never meant that she's probably just angry at what you did.

Y/n: It doesn't matter.

Qrow: I need to go but Im just saying if you do find them then you may not make it out.

Y/n: That's fine.

He squinted at my answer and stared at me with a look of disappointment.

Qrow: Good luck. Just don't go causing too much trouble.

Y/n: (Fake laugh) What's the fun in that.

Qrow: Be safe. For Ruby's sake.

I nodded and he walked away out of site.

Ruby's POV

I was about to join the other in the campfire. They were already eating. I looked to see them all close and warm and I walked up na joined in. The all greeted me with warm faces.

Nora: You feeling okay Ruby?

Ruby: (Nod) 'I wish'

I sat a little further away. Nearer to the tree and I opened up my tin of food and started eating slowly with me chewing alot on every bite. I didn't even want to eat but I had to.

Jaune: So... Do you have any news on-

Ruby: Not now Jaune.

Jaune: Oh, sorry.

Ruby: It's fine.

They carried on talking and laughing amongst themselves while I just zoned out. I missed him alot. It wasn't the same without him. Sometimes around this time we did some hand to hand combat skills, some Scythe play and maybe just talking amongst ourselves. Nothing too crazy. I just wish he was here.

I once again fell deeper into my own mind going down memory lanes where he tried to do something and I or my dad didn't let him. If I ever had the chance to apologise I would do it 100 times.

Ruby: 'I wonder what he's thinking right now.'

Y/n's POV

I was laying in bed trying to see where I would go. There was a high possibility that I may run into Ruby and the others as we were going the same way. That didn't matter right now. I can barely sleep. Not because L/n's need less sleep but because of what happened with Ruby.

I took in what she said and assumed the worst. We had probably broken up. I didn't know how to feel. Right now I don't mind being away from Ruby. Honestly it feels like a good thing and a bad thing. It's good because of my privacy and it's bad because of the loneliness. I do miss her though.

What matters now though is finding Cayde, and nothing will stop me.
