The Bad Guys: Yeah!
We're the Bad Guys!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One morning, in the Bad Guys' hideout, Snake, Shark, Piranha, and Hornet were heading to the elevator as Wolf picked up the keys from the desk.
"Come on, guys. Let's go out to get some coffee," Shark declared.
Before Wolf joined the others in the elevator, the only one left was Tarantula, who was writing something on the couch.
"Hey, Webs," he called Tarantula, who was startled, and faced away from the paper to look at Wolf, "Are you coming?"
"Oh, I'll... I'll catch up with you guys," Tarantula made a half-smile.
Wolf grinned and nodded as he headed in the direction of the elevator. When he made it in with the rest of the gang, the elevator doors closed.
As soon as her friends were gone, Tarantula continued to write on the paper. After a few more words, she was already done. She read the paper again to double-check any grammar errors or anything she might miss. But the letter seemed okay, so it's time to put it down.
Tarantula jumped to the coffee table in front of her, and put the paper down, placing a tiny pot of plant on it so it won't be blown away. Tarantula looked at the paper one more time, and sighed, "Sorry, boys. It's been fun."
She wore her backpack, wore her hoodie over her head, and jumped off the table to crawl towards the elevator. She crawled up to the buttons of the elevator, pushed the down button, and the doors opened. She quickly crawled inside as soon as the doors closed.
The letter that Tarantula wrote was still on the table.
Dear guys,
This city life is getting me down... I'm off for the countryside where I can settle down in a peaceful life
Goodbye forever,
Webs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tarantula got herself a ride out of town as she secretly stood on top of a moving white car headed out of the city. When the car drove to the countryside, Tarantula looked around, and the place consisted with
"Oooh, this must be it," Tarantula said to herself as she jumped off the car.
As she landed on the ground, glad that she was so jumpy. She didn't hit the ground that hard. While she jumped, she got a good look around the place, until she accidentally fell into a pile of brown mush. When she got her head out, she wondered about the brown stuff all over her. She looked up, and saw the label of a sac that said "Cow Manure". Tarantula gasped as she slowly looked down to see the brown stuff again, and gagged disgustingly, "EEEEEWWWW, GROOSSSS!"
Later, after Tarantula washed the manure off of her, she has time to explore the countryside. Tarantula couldn't get her eyes off the giant barn she just passed by. Because she couldn't stop staring at the barn, Tarantula ended up falling on her back.
Next, she was now in the cornfield where she stared at how tall the corn plants are. While she was still admiring the height of the corn, she got a chance to glance at a very tall scarecrow, which scared Tarantula, and ran away as fast as she can until she made it out of the cornfield.
On her way, Tarantula bumped onto a cowboy boot. When she fell on her back, her eyes were covered with her hoodie. She was able to pull it back for her eyes to see again, and got a chance to look at her reflection on the silver blade at the back of the cowboy boot, and fixed herself. After she was done grooming, she walked away and accidentally fell into a small stream of wasted water from an old water pump. Luckily, she floated away on a paper boat. Realizing she was still safe, Tarantula relaxed and let the stream float her away wherever it led her. On her way, she noticed a garden full of vegetables, like carrots, tomatoes, pumpkins, and other kinds.
While staring at the vegetables, Tarantula remembered that her friend Hornet liked vegetables because he is a vegetarian. That made her miss him already, along with her other friends. The stream then led her under a wooden fence where she was now inside a pen. When Tarantula fell from the paper boat, she heard a loud ring from a bell.
"Don't tell me. Horse Racing?" Tarantula turned around to see the horses were ready to run the race.
As quick as she could, Tarantula immediately ran as if her life depended on it. One of the horses almost crushed her, but she quickly kept her legs moving. When Tarantula found a way to escape, she turned the other way, and exit the racing area, and ran towards an opening giant door.
Tarantula then ended up finding herself inside a big red barn, where the insides were composed of hay, grain, and fruits, and sheltered livestock, such as cattle, horses, and sheep. Though the barn was empty, Tarantula decided to make herself at home. She explored the whole barn, crawling on wood, and even swinging on ropes. She had so much fun. It felt like she was finally free. Tarantula then noticed a silo just at the other side of the barn.
On her way out, Tarantula noticed a gap in a slopy roof, so she squeezed herself out, and saw a clothesline that was connected to the roof of the silo. Tarantula gave it a try to use the clothesline to reach for the silo. The clothesline was too thin for her to crawl with her eight thick legs, but she managed though like a real small spider should be.
When Tarantula made it to the roof of the silo, she could see the whole countryside from up here. The whole view is beautiful, especially when it was almost sunset. She could see everything from up here. The fields, the farmers, the farm animals, and the cars riding through the countryside. Tarantula knew this might be a good life for her: a piece and quiet place with no chaos or problems... But there was something she felt that was missing. She wanted to be happy to decide to live here, but why isn't she happy? She wised her friends would here to see the sunset together...
That's right! Her friends!
It has always been her friends that were missing
Because her mind wasn't in the real world, one of her legs just slipped on the slope of the silo's roof. Tarantula snapped out of her thoughts, and realized she was sliding down. She tried to grab hold, but it was too late. Tarantula fell down the roof, but before she could hit the ground, she grabbed a sock, and used it as a parachute, making her land on a small puddle on the ground. All wet, Tarantula crawled out of the small and shallow puddle, and shook herself dry.
All of a sudden, she felt like sneezing, "Ah, ah... ACHOO!" Her sneeze was so loud, it attracted tiny scary eyes that were hidden in hays, small crates, and old chicken coops. Tarantula backed away to get away from those scary eyes, until, behind her, a giant turkey peeked out behind the barrel, and squawked at her surprisingly.
Feeling alerted, Tarantula hurtled as fast as she could, but ended up towards a pyramid of hay barrels. Because of one hard bump on the pyramid, the hay barrels slowly collapsed. Tarantula braced for it, but she ended up on top of one of the hay barrels, keeping it rolling while trying not to lose her balance. The hay barrel then rolled towards a big shack where she crashed into it. When Tarantula groaned in pain from the crash, she discovered she was inside the shack of sharp farming tools. Then, when she heard somebody coming, she figured if someone find her inside, they would kill her with the sharp tools around. Tarantula quickly escaped through a small hole at the left wall of the shack, and continued running.
Because she didn't know where she was going as she looked back at the shack to make sure no one saw her, she accidentally bumped onto someone's foot. Tarantula looked up as a farmer and three others screamed in terror as the former tried to pin his pitchfork at Tarantula who dodged a couple of times before continuing to run. As she ran, some farmers throw pitchforks, rakes, and knives at her, which she fortunately avoided.
Tarantula then ran to the fields where no one could see her running. But then, a tractor started to move fast as Tarantula ran for it. She then climbed onto the scarecrow that she was afraid of earlier. She thought she was safe, until the crows swooped in to snatch her, but she kept moving away from the claws and beaks of the crows before falling back into the field.
Finally, when the sun set, Tarantula made it out of the field after hours of hiding from the farmers, farm animals, and crows. She found the road that might lead her back to the city. She then ran down the road, hoping she would get back to the city so she could escape this country life of nightmare.
"What was I thinking?! I don't belong here! I don't belong in the country! I belong in the big city! With my friends! And my gadgets!" Tarantula started to tear up while she continued running down the road. Living in a country life was fun and all, but this isn't the life for her. While she was exploring the countryside, she couldn't stop thinking about her friends, her brothers, her family. She might be the only girl in the team, but the boys treated her as an equal. It didn't matter to them if she was a little scary and a girl, they still loved her no matter what, and they provided her the needs, home, and family she ever wanted. Why would she attempt to give it all up when she got everything back in the city? "I have to get home, but how can I get home?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, from the city to the countryside, the Bad Guys mobile drove wildly down the road,
Wolf said while driving the wheel, "After we find Webs, I'm gonna kill her!"
But ahead, when the headlights shined the road, it spotted an orange giant spider, which was revealed to be Tarantula. The boys exclaimed that they found their friend in the middle of the road as Wolf stepped on the break. Tarantula just froze and braced herself for her fate, and the car's rear end rose up while the front was dragging itself to a stop. The car nearly ran over Tarantula, and when it came to a complete stop, its rear slammed down to the ground.
When the car went to a stop, Tarantula opened her eyes, felt she was still alive, and the car is still right in front of her. She couldn't see who was inside the car because of the brightness of the headlights.
The rest of the Bad Guys could clearly see Tarantula, unharmed, but they were still concerned about her well-being. They went out to check on her if she was hurt.
"Webs!" The one who was worried the most was Shark because of their tight friendship.
But the other one is Hornet when he flew down to her, and said, "Are you okay? Are you hurt? SAY SOMETHING!" He slapped her multiple times across the face.
"Oh! We are so glad we found you," Snake sighed in relief when he came out of the car.
"We were so... worried about you," Wolf cooed worriedly.
Tarantula shoved Hornet off of her, and said calmly, Don't worry, I'm fine, I'm fine. Look at me. I'm fine."
"You're fine? Oh, he's fine. Oh, great," Hornet smiled before turning to his other friends, Hey, you hear that? Webs' fine. Ah, that's good to know," Then, he turned back to the Tarantula, 'Cause I was just wondering, uh...," Hornet became desperate, disappointed, and frustrated as he held Tarantula by the next, chocking and strangling her, "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US, WEBS?! I THOUGHT WE WERE YOUR FRIENDS!
"What's the big deal?! I was coming back anyway!" Tarantula said squeaky raspy voice since her vocal cord got squeezed a bit.
"Don't you ever do this again! Do you hear me?!" Hornet demanded, still feeling desperate and betrayed by his ex.
"Do you hear him?!" Piranha repeated loudly.
"Do you even realize what you've put us through when we tried to find you?! Don't you ever do this again! Don't you ever, ever do this again!" Hornet still continued to strangle Tarantula.
Having enough of Hornet's desperation, frustration, and disappointment while choking her to death like this, Tarantula angrily strangled Hornet by the neck, and growled, "Strangle me one more time, I'll bite your head off, and eat you!"
"Okay, okay, good thing you're okay, buddy," Hornet said with his squeaky raspy voice since his vocal cord got squeezed a bit before Tarantula released him.
Wolf then kneeled down to reach Tarantula's level, and showed her the letter she wrote, "Webs, we found your letter on the table, and we read it. Why did you want to leave?"
"Yeah, it hurts when you left like that without telling us," Shark whined.
Tarantula couldn't explain why she wrote that letter in the first place. She never thought of it until she experienced country life herself. And what hurt her more was she left her friends without telling them in person. She looked at the boys with regretful tears, and confessed, "I'm sorry, guys. I thought the city and technology are slowing me down to enjoy my life, and I decided to move away from technology to settle down in a quiet place," she then started to sniff, "But because of my experience here in the country, I realized being a country tarantula isn't the life for me."
"You realized that from experience for just one day?" Snake deadpanned.
"Turns out I couldn't live on a day without technology," Tarantula nodded, chuckling, "Besides, I realized that I belong in the city... with you guys."
The boys cooed as they were touched by Tarantula's confession.
"Aww, that is so touching, chica," Piranha wiped a tear, "But don't ever run off like that again!"
"Deal," Tarantula smiled.
"Well, we should get back home. We have a crime-fighting mission to take care of tonight, and a stealth heist to plan for tomorrow's crime," Wolf declared before heading back to the car.
While the other turned to the car, Shark reached down to Tarantula, and offered his fin to her to give her a ride. Tarantula happily accepted as she crawled on Shark's fin. Shark then went back to the car while carrying Tarantula in his fin, and Wolf made a U-turn to head back to the city.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, it's another day for a crime heist in a museum as Tarantula was in the security room, tapping her laptop, and revealing the footage of the boys, doing their assigned role for the heist. All boys, except Hornet, were in disguises while casually doing their plan.
Tarantula just watched and rubbed her hands, feeling happy that she felt like home. She's finally back... where she belonged
"It's so good to be home. It's good to be here where I truly belong," Tarantula said in her mind.

The story of this chapter was based on Tom and Jerry: Jerry in Manhattan. Except for the concept of this chapter was inverted. In Tom and Jerry, Jerry decided to leave the countryside to live on Broadway and bright lights. Here, Tarantula wanted to leave city life to live in the countryside.
The part where Hornet strangled Tarantula out of desperation was based on Madagascar where Alex strangled Marty for running away.
Although Tarantula is an anthropomorphic tarantula, the farmers and animals in this chapter thought she was non-anthropomorphic. This might be due to farmers and non-anthropomorphic farm animals thinking that these kinds of animals, anthropomorphic or not, are the same. All farm animals and the crows in this story are non-anthropomorphic.
