Chapter 19: Despite It All
Meanwhile, across town, Snake, Webs, Shark, and
Piranha returned to their lair, still sulking over Wolf abandoning them just for their safety. But once they arrived to their lair, they find that the place had been completely emptied in their absence. Diane had cleared the place out, removing every single stolen item they'd worked so hard to acquire over the past few years. They all gasped at the empty building.
"All our stuff!" Shark wailed not getting it at first.
"Wha-
"Where is everything?" Snake says.
"No no no"' Piranha shouts in a panicked.
It's ALL gone!" Snake shouts.
Shark raced to open a closet door on the far side of the room, horrified to find it empty.
"My disguise closet!" He exclaimed.
"Where's my things?" Tarantula said, her breath
coming quicker and quicker with each look around the room.
"Wolf gave away all our loot?!" Snake asked, "We
stole that stuff, fair and square!"
Piranha suddenly lost it and went totally nuts.
"Now I understand what it feels like to have things stolen from you! I don't like it! I really don't like it!" He shouts.
Frustrated and exhausted Snake wandered around and sees under the fridge, Princess's bracelet, Wolf must've dropped it when they were going to Professor Marmalade, he picks it up with his tail and it reminded him of that warm smile she face him and when she grabbed him face despite when he scared her, he then remembered why wolf did this for.
"We were supposed to give it all up for Princess."
Snake turns to everyone as ge shows them the
bracelet, it reminded them all of princess and all
the nice things she did to them.
Everyone then starts to sulk again, Snake swallowed the bracelet to keep it safe. Then he goes to the fridge, the only thing still left in their secret hideout were the photo memories
pinned to the outside of the fridge with magnets, he looks down on the floor to see one picture of
Princess facing the camera it looked like she was
playing with it and accidentally took a picture of
herself. He pulled open the fridge to see if there was anything left inside to drown his sorrows and
found one last, lonely push pop. He eyed it, deciding that the only thing that a cold push pop could ease his guilt after trying to give Princess away to her aggressive father. But before he could pop it in his mouth, he heard Shark wailed from across the room.
"I miss that little baby! She was the only one who
didn't made me feel like a monster!" Shark began
to cry, then he sees Webs looking at her necklace
again, Piranha was on the ground hugging his legs, feeling blue.
Without a second thought, Snake handed Shark the final push pop to try to console him. "Alright,
okay," Snake said hastily. "Here, here. Take this.
Now stop crying, buddy."
He grabbed shark's hand and stuffed the push pop and Shark began to slurp it happily.
"Oooh." Shark moaned when he finally got a taste of that sweet frozen treat he always wanted. Until Webs sits on Shark's shoulders, she stared at Snake, totally dumbfounded.
"Um Snake....?" Webs said slowly, "what did you just do?"
"What?" Snake snapped, "My friend was sad, so I
cheered him up."
Shark suddenly realized what had just happened.
"You-" Shark said, "You did a good thing. For me?" Snake froze.
"Don't be ridiculous," He spat out. "I just put your
needs before my own."
Webs nodded. "Yeah, you're being good."
"I'm not!" Snake insisted. "I was simply making a
sacrifice so Shark could be happy."
Tarantula held up one hand.
"That is the actual definition of being good." She said.
"Snake!" Shark cheered. "You! The worst one of us.
The most selfish-
"Spiteful!" Tarantula added.
"Terrible!" Shark went on.
"Sneaky!" said Piranha.
"Dishonest!" Tarantula continued.
Shark put in, "Insensitive!"
"Manipulative!" Tarantula noted.
"Snakelike!" Piranha yelped.
"Stanky!" said Shark.
Shake glared at them all. "And your point is?"
"What happened when princess smiled at you and
you were about to give her back to her dad?" Webs
says.
"Yeah you could've just easily gave her back so we
would've avoid going to jail" Shark added.
"But no you saved her." Piranha joins in.
"No no no I was only just doing it for Wolf, he
wouldn't know how to get her back." Snake hissed.
"Like Thomas said you're a villain why do you care
about her?" Webs said.
"So what if I love her who cares." Snake said. He then made a shocking look when he realized what he just said.
"AH HA!" Shark screams, "so you do care about her!" Snake makes a annoyed look.
"Ok fine maybe a part of me loved that girl but
what more can we do?" Snake hissed.
Just then, Tarantula noticed Shark's fin, Piranha's
mohawk, and her own tummy wiggling from side to
side.
"Oh, wow. We're WAGGING!" Webs exclaims.
Snake noticed his own tail had also started wagging
just the thought of princess hugging him again, he
wanted to feel her again, her soft hugs, her warm
smiles that adorable laughter she filled in them,
she finally had got to snake again.
"I'm feeling," Piranha said joyfully, "tingly all over!
I got a tingle!"
Snake glanced at his own tail then looks at the
picture of Princess again. He picks up the picture and he knew what he and the others had to do.
"Come on let's go save Princess." Snake says as he
looks at everyone, they all looked at each other and
head out.
As Piranha heads out with them, he saw something shining on the floor. He picks it up to see that it was the Flash ring he stole from the JL Museum. He puts it in his pocket and catches up to them.
