Five

Han soojin

Everyone were teaming up and happy about it as i stood alone.

I wanted to look unbothered by it. No one was coming toward me so i knew i had to ask someone or it would be more embarrassing if the teacher announced me as " the one who has no teammates team up" . I would rather die.

I looked at my surrounding again but this time looking for a target.

I noticed a boy who was alone in the middle of lab looking around. You could tell he was looking for someone to team up with.

He couldn't be bad , i have noticed him a few time before.

I walked up to him. I didnt know what to call him since i didnt know his name.

I tapped his shoulder and when he looked around he seemed shocked and didnt understand why i came to him.

Its obvious why would i come now!!

" Hey do you want to team up with me?" I asked.

I knew he didnt like the idea as he looked around for someone to save him or give him an excuse like " sorry but i am with__" but he found none.

So "okay " he quietly said.

" Good" i forced a smile and returned back to my usual cold face.

And we just stood there and it was hella awkward.

" My name is han soojin , and yours?" I asked, expressionless.

" I am haruto" he smiled.

So i was right he was a foreigner. He looked like one.

" Each team stand before a bench, let get started" the chemistry teacher announced.

And we went and stood before a bench and there was some lab equipment infront of us.

We stood quietly as the teacher started to explain what we were going to do and how we would perform it and gave each of team different amount of the substance.

And asked us to write an essay about the reaction and explain what we did in it after class.

" Now start " the teacher said and i looked at haruto.

"Now what should we do?" He asked, not knowing where to start.

I frowned. The teacher was explaining this for like 20 minutes.

" We are going to mix those two at first and wait for 30 seconds exactly then we are going to start second part of the procedure " i explained slowly as he listened with full attention.

"Why would we do this first?" He asked.

I explained it for him and started to do the firs part of the procedure then for next step he asked what we going to do then i explained it for him and then he asked why.

I was trying to be nice so I explained them slowly so he can understand.

At first i was starting to feel irritated but then i remembered he was a foreigner and his korean wasnt so perfect to understand lessons then my heart softened.

That was why i was more patient than i normally was.

I cant imagine if this was one of the girls , i would have killed them if they asked so much questions.

normally the girls would have fought to team up with me since i would do everything alone and i was better than any of them in studying , not that i was so good but i was the best they could find.

I smiled at that thought .

" Why does this reaction occur?" He asked.

I sighed now i understand why his friends didnt team up with him. I should have known.

" No more questions" i said as i judgementally  looked at him.

He looked guilty and disappointed as he put his lips in a line and lowered his head.

I shook my head as i felt bad. He had such an innocent face that would u feel guilty if u made them sad.

"Give me that paper and pen" i ordered.

He looked confused but gave it to me quickly.

I grabbed them and put then on the table.

"Listen i am only going to explain it once" i said as i looked at him.

And the smile on his face when he understood what i was trying to do made me happy with what i was doing.

I felt proud for bringing that smile on someones face.

I didnt know i was smiling when i looked down the paper and started explaining the subject from the start to the end. The other team were finishing up.

" I understand now" he smiled , proud of himself.

" Thanks god " i said,with sarcasm.

He pouted.

I wanted to smile but i didnt.

" Now lets finish it" i said as i grabbed the tube.

" No let me do it, you did most of the work. I want to help" he said as stretched his to grab the tube but then i felt stinging pain on my hand.

As i hissed as i quickly put the tube down and run to wash my hand.

I closed my eyes as let the water run on my hand , it stung.

" Are you okay?" He asked , worriedly.

I didnt reply as i closed the tap and looked at him.

"Its fine" i said, calmly.

"I will tell the teacher" he said as he wanted to walk away.

" No dont ,it fine" i said as i grabbed his wrist, stoping him.

I didnt like the attention i would get.

"But what if it was toxic to your skin?" He asked, concerned.

"During lab especially in school the concentration of the substance are reduced by diluation so that it wont have much effect if something happens" i explained as a matter of fact.

Of course the schools wouldnt let thier students be under that much of a danger.

He looked more relaxed now but he was still feeling guilty.

And i didnt like how he would pout when he looked at the red mark on my hand.

It wasnt alot but as much of pouring hot water on your hand.

" Lets finish it quickly" i tried to avert the subject.

We went back to our spot and we saw that we couldnt finish the work cause we lost what we should worked with.

" I will ask the teacher for more"

" Dont , we dont need to finish it, the teacher wont even know if we did it or not " i shrugged.

" But wouldnt he check on us?" He gasped alittle.

"Just mix as much as to produce the same color as the other students" i suggested with a smirk.

" Wow u are so evil" he said ,shocked by my mischievousness.

I raised an eyebrow as if asking what he was going to do now.

He smirked too but it still looked innocent on him.

As he did what i said.

Later i decided to go to the nurse to see if she could put anything on it.

"I will come with you " he said as he followed me.

" You dont need too" i said, expressionlessly as i always do.

"No i will" he said as he followed me.

I stopped and glared at him, he stoped at his spot.

" I will go alone" i said sternly.

He stoped for a second then annoyingly continued to walk infront of me.

" I am not coming with you , i am going alone"

My jaw dropped.

Seriously.

They said it was alright and she just put a cream on it and wrapped it so it doesnt leave a sign behind.

As she was left, haruto looked at me with panic.

"What about the homework?" He asked as he only remembered it now.

"We can find it by the numbers , no problem" i shrugged as i said nonchalantly.

" You have a solution for every problem" he said as he was admiring me.

I felt proud out of sudden but i just cleared my throat.

I wonder how we got so comfortable with talking to each other this fast when i was not really the friendliest person out there.
