Chapter 1: New Town
I walked into my new house in Maybelle, Montana and looked around a bit. Montana is so bloody different than Yorkshire. At my old school I had a good handful of friends and a few girlfriends here and there. I liked my old school, everyone knew each other and there weren't cliques, everyone really just ignored each other.
My bedroom is a simple square shaped room with a tall ceiling and large window on the left most wall. A door to the closet is on the right side of the room next to the Jack and Jill bathroom that I have to share with my sister.
"Pierce!"
"What do you want?" I mumble as I run down the stairs to the lounge room.
My parents were sat on the couch with my seven year old sister, Emily. My parents were lawyers back in England, some of the most successful at that. The Yorkshire branch of Cohen & Wills attorney thought that my parents were so good that we had to move to a small town that nobody has ever heard of in Montana. Is this town even on a map?
My mum's blonde hair, which both Emily and I inherited, was tied up into a tight ponytail and her pantsuit was neatly pressed and wrinkle free. My father's dark brown hair was gelled back neatly, which he had tried to do to me to many times to count, and his tie in a perfect line down the middle of his button up.
"We want you to know that your car is going to be in the shop for the next month so you'll have to walk to school starting tomorrow." Mum said.
Stupid Americans, driving on the wrong side of the road.
"Why can't you guys take me when you drive Emily to school?" I took a seat across from them on the recliner.
"Emily's school is close to the law firm, yours is in the complete other direction. Plus it's not that far from the house, maybe like a ten minute walk." Dad said, he stood up and headed towards the kitchen. "Now, go finish unpacking and wash up, dinner will be in an hour."

When I arrived at the school gates, I could sense the heads turning and all eyes on me. I could hear whispers like "Who's the new boy? Where's he from? Do you think we'll have class together?" I ignored them all and headed straight towards the office building.
Right as I walked in I came face to face with a girl in a leather jacket. A scowl adorned her pretty face, her hair fell in long straight strands of light brown, almost blonde. She had these bright blue eyes lined with long eyelashes and thick brown eyebrows.
She shoved her way through the door and headed out to the front lot. I turned to the receptionist, only to see her staring at me. She had wild, curly red hair and red lipstick smeared all around her mouth and teeth. She gave me a flirtatious smile and said "What's your name, boy?"
"Um, Pierce Livingston." I turned my gaze to the floor, because I feared that if I continued to look at her the disgust I felt would become very opaque.
"Here's your schedule, sugar. Have a wonderful first day."
I exited the office to see the halls and front lawn empty of students. I wandered the halls searching for my first class, Maths.
When I finally found the room I knocked on the door and a burly looking man opened the door with a surprisingly friendly smile. I entered the room and immediately the entire class's eyes were on me. The teacher dragged me to the middle of the front of the room and started to introduce me to the class.
"Okay guys this is our new student, please welcome him with open arms and that Lion pride. So tell us your name and where you moved from."
"Well," I looked around and saw all of the girls looking at me in a daze and the boys glaring at me and whom I'm assuming are their girlfriends. "my name is Pierce Livingston and I moved from Yorkshire, England."
The teacher, who I now know is Mr. Wilson, directed me to a seat in the back next to the girl I saw earlier. Some girls turned to glare at her and stare dreamily at me, before looking back to the front of the class.

The rest of the day passed in a blur, I did happen to make a few friends though. Jason Gallagher and Jack Mason, who are both in my English class, had invited me to sit with their friends at lunch, where I was instantly deemed apart of their friend group.
At home I finished unpacking and then went on a walk. There was a park that I had passed on my way to school so I stopped there. Maybe I could bring Emily here sometime.
I thought about the girl I saw today, I had learned that her name is Sydney Coleman and she's apparently the resident bad girl. And the reason that she was in the office this morning is because she just finished her suspension.
I sat at the park until sunset then started on my walk home. I could smell dinner cooking as I approached the house, Mum, Dad, and Emily were all sat at the table when I entered.
"Pierce, come sit and eat, then you can finish your homework and any unpacking you have left to do." Mum said.
I just hope the rest of my time in Maybelle is as good as today was.
