I fall to my knees as I look at Star Gazer's sleeping dead body. Tears slip down my face as I pick him up and hold him close to me. "We did everything we could but he was just to old" Mr. Stacks says I rock back and forth with Star Gazer. "No, no" I say "Cassie you got to let him go" said Blake trying to pull my from Star Gazer. But I just ripped my arm away from him.
"Stop" I hear Nicolas say "Cassie has raised Star Gazer since he was a little puppy" Nicolas tells Blake. "I know that" Blake said "then leave her be" said Matty "why are you siding with him" asked Blake. "Because Star Gazer was Cassie's Best Friend. He has been with her through everything" Matty tells Blake. I continue to rock and cry for the rest of the night, until I fall to sleep.

I stare at my parents grave blank face it has been a year yet. I still come here and do this. Bark, bark I turn my head to see a little Golden Retriever puppy running up to me. It sniffs me then licks my hand and I pick it up. It was already night and the stars were out.
"Hello little pup" I say and he barks I smile and place him in my lap. "I'm going to keep you" I tell him "but I need a name first" I say. I look up to the sky and see the stars glowing brightly at me "Star Gazer will be your name" I tell him and he barks. "You like it don't you" I say and pet his head and I didn't feel so lonely anymore.

I watch as they buried Star Gazer's body next to my babies places. I just felt empty again like I did until I found Star Gazer. His head stone read

"Cassie do you wish to say something" I asked Grandma, I nod. I look back at the head stone knowing Star Gazer is watching me. "I found Star Gazer a year after my parents died. And when I did I felt happy again. Even though it was year since I was happy It felt like a decade. But with Star Gazer it was all right. I... I just wish he would have been hear to see the triplets be born" I say.
         "Excuse me" I say and start making my way back to the house after placing my rose down for Star Gazer. I went inside and went upstairs and just laid on the bed. I missed my boy.
         As I stare at the bed I see a German Shepherd puppy placed in front of me. I turn to see Blake smiling "I got you a new one" he said. "You think I can just move on just like that!" I yelled with anger and sadness "I just thought" "you don't understand he has been with me for forever. It won't be a funeral then all better. It would be like my parents death" I tell him and Blake nods then leaves. I lay back down on the bed and see the puppy shaking with fear "you look to young to be away from mama" I say.
         I pick up the puppy and check to see if it's a boy or girl. "Your a girl" I say "well for now just lay here and later will come up with a nam I tell them pup. It snuggles in and I frown Star Gazer I close my eyes and drift to sleep in hopes. I will feel better soon.
