Chapter 4- Persistent Curiosity
PEPSI'S POV
"Babe!"
Jake and I immediately took eleven steps apart from each other like some boiling hot chicken soup had been poured between us from the ceiling when we heard his girlfriend's annoyingly taut voice. Hell would definitely break loose if this queen bitch will get jealous of me interacting with her property.
Wow?
Jake abruptly leaves me like I have a really serious case of an infectious asshole rash and immediately walks up straight to his girl who is looming over him with both of her slender hands on her hips. She is directly scowling at him like she wants to eat him alive.
Oh, Dear. I bet she always does...every night.
"What are you doing? You really want to become a dog, aren't you?!"
She is scolding him like he's a stupid little boy while unreservedly gawking at me. I'm not sure if that was a whisper, because I think the entire world population heard it.
"Well, that would give you a huge favor, since doggie is your favorite, right?" Jake replies with a naughty grin and yeah, I perfectly heard that too.
I just have to stop myself from covering my mouth in the marvelous revelation.
Three girls who just passed by apparently heard it too and their annoying giggles reached my ears.
Kids nowadays.
All they think about is sex like it's an everyday routine such as eating and shitting, and it's just so sad.
"Babe, stop it! I'm not fucking with you right now. Don't you ever talk to her again, okay?"
This annoying bitch is really serious, and I find it amusing. Should I cast a spell on her now? Take note, she's blushing. Jake's revelation must be true; the beautiful Sierra definitely wants to be hit hard from the back...
"She followed me in the restroom." Jake explains before leaning in closer to her to whisper, "I think she's stalking me."
Son of a fucking corn...
The nerves on my jaw ticks when I heard this asshole's outright lie.
"SHUT UP?!" she exclaims in a valley girl tone with widened eyes. "Are you serious? Eww! Having a stalker like that? Just look at her, Babe! She really looks scary and disgusting. Look at those lips! They're so dry and cracked. She should use chapsticks sometimes," The fucking bitch comments while grimacing at me as if I am a human shit.
There are a lot of things that are going through my mind right now.
First, speaking of chapsticks, I so badly want to chop her slut of a body into pieces and pierce some sticks through them for a BBQ Bitch flavor.
Second, I want to grab her by her fake tits and pinch her nipples out until they bleed.
And third... the sky's the limit of your imagination.
"Yeah, whatever, babe. Let's go." Jake pulls her back in the cafeteria's direction without even giving me another glance.
I am so mad right now, like burning in hell mad.
Don't they dare test me or else...
I am about to walk out when Jake suddenly turns around and catches my eyes before mouthing the word, "SORRY" with a seemingly sincere face before disappearing inside the cafeteria.
Uhm, okay?
And suddenly... I'm calm. My muscles start to relax, and I am not really sure why. I look around and see the intrigued and terrified faces like I'm holding a Guinness World Record of being the ugliest and scariest-looking woman in the whole world.
My dead strands of hair are getting stressed by now, actually. I throw my death scowl around and they all sprint out of the corridor instantly like they have some emergencies and they need to go home urgently. I just find myself softly chuckling at the wonderful scene.
Ah, it really feels so freaking good to be me.

My last class is finally done and I just want to be home in a snap of a finger. Grams just texted me that she cannot find our dog Lucipurr. Yes, he's a dog and not a cat. Lucipurr must be in the other neighborhood again roaming around while looking for some female dogs and other animals to mate. It's his horny month again and he's quite a beast. Oh, wait. He's always horny, actually. He's always trying to make a move on our black cat, Karen, every single night.
Oh, our poor little pussy cat.
I'm worried about Grams. I always try to avoid stressing her out because, at her age, she is prone to heart disease and other health problems. I'm just so happy that she is still as strong as a bodybuilder but of course, prevention is always the cure.
Life is short and we all have our own expiration dates. We just need to be ready anytime...
...especially Jake. He needs to be ready these days if he won't leave me alone.
I'm already outside the campus when someone grabbed my hand. It made me feel a shock of electricity at the mere contact. I whip around to see who it is and speaking of the devil...
Glaring furiously at him, I forcefully shove his hand away and tell him in my coldest voice,
"Get off me."
He seems to be surprised at my rejection.
"You're really a snob, aren't you?" he says in his usual monotonous, lazy tone. "I just actually want to apologize for what happened during lunch." he finishes his sentence with a nonchalant shrug.
"Forget about it. Just don't bother me again." I demand with one eyebrow raised and continue walking.
"Okay, look." he starts tailing me. "I didn't mean to leave you in the hallway. It's just that, my friend Sierra has some emergency and she needed my help."
Goodness fucking gracious. What does he think of me? An oblivious fetus?
I didn't know that Jake Snyder is actually dumb.
Everyone at school knows almost everything about him, and that includes me, unfortunately—from his quiz scores to his schedule, down to the different designs of his briefs. Don't get me wrong, I didn't try to learn all of that stuff on purpose. It's all his stupid fangirls yap about in the freaking hallways every goddamn second and of course, since I have ears, I keep hearing those unwanted info and it somehow stuck in my memory. No one knows his address, though. Except for his friends.
I stop in my tracks and turn to face him again. He could at least think of a believable excuse.
The bottom line is, he thought that I got jealous of Sierra... I just look at him with pure awe. His "SORRY" a while ago calmed me down as I thought it was about the mean and nonsense words that he and Sierra have thrown about me.
"For the last fucking time, can you just..." I close my eyes and take a really careful breath, then continue, "...leave me alone? Please?" I suppress the urge to hold on to his shoulders and knee him on his dick.
"Chill, girl. I just want us to be friends. Why is it so hard for you?" he gives me a boyish smile and I am stunned for a split second. It's my first time seeing him smile like that, as he always has this lazy, I-don't-give-a-fuck face.
He's actually really cute wearing that smile.
WTF, girl. Stop that!
I mentally shook my irrelevant thoughts away.
I try to look scary again, the silent but deadly and mysterious look to get rid of him but my efforts really don't affect him at all.
With a matching deep and eerie voice, I tell him,
"I don't have time to play games with you, Jake Snyder. This is the last time that you'll be talking to me."
His forehead creases at my words. They probably attacked his bloated ego. I doubt he had experienced any rejections before, and I can tell by his reaction that he's not used to it. Talking about a spoiled jerk...
I resume walking towards the main gate without looking back at him.
After a few seconds, I wonder if he is still following me. I mentally told myself not to look back as I didn't want him to think that I had the slightest interest in him.
I am now nearing the main gate, and at this time, I cannot feel his conceited aura anymore. I casually look up at the red-orange streaked sky and act as if it's the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen in a while but the truth is, I am actually looking for him through my peripheral vision.
Nothing.
He's really gone, and there's like a one-eight part of me that is kind of disappointed.
So that's it? Did he give up that easily?
While waiting for a cab to stop, a familiar red Ferrari sportscar suddenly stops in front of me. The driver slides the window down and reveals a smirking Jake in his cool black shades.
My heart starts to race all of a sudden. He pulls down his shades and our eyes meet again.
"Hey, doll. Wanna ride?" he winks at me thereafter, and I think my whole body flushed at how crazily attractive he looked underneath the warm rays of the setting sun.
I start to become uneasy in front of him and I don't know why.
A cab stops next to his car just in time, and I immediately ran up to it like I was in some kind of a zombie apocalypse movie. I just need to get away from him immediately.
I can see and feel the rise and fall of my chest as I wearily lean back into the car seat. My heart is thumping so hard against my ribcage and my nipples hurt for some reason. My hands and knees won't stop shaking as well.
What the hell is happening to me?
