Sophie's POV

A lot of things have happened. My brother found out about his 'friends'. Michael stopped being a part of the band. Ace asked me to be his girlfriend. My aunt told me she wasn't getting married.

I have news too. I applied for college in another state and I got accepted. I haven't told Ace yet. I really don't know how.

"Knock, knock." My brother says and peeks his head in my door.

"Hey," I smile and push away my homework.

"How's my little sis doing?" He asks and sits on my bed.

"I'm good. How's my brother?"

He shrugs. "Pretty good, I guess. Are you sure that you are okay?"

"I still haven't told him about college."

"You are should probably tell him soon."

"I know," I sigh.

"It'll all work out. Try not to worry about it too much, okay?"

"Okay."

Okay. You got this. It's just college. No big deal.

Even I don't believe that. This is a HUGE deal. But if I don't tell him now then I never will.

I find Ace in his garage with Hunter and Jaxon. Tears come to my eyes knowing that soon I won't be able to come over here whenever I want to.

The guys look up and smile at me. I try to act normal and smile back.

"Umm, is it okay if I talk to you? Alone?" I ask Ace.

"Sure," he grins and walks into his house. "What did you want to talk about?"

"Well, I didn't tell you, but I applied to a few different colleges." I wait to see his reaction and he just nods.

"Local ones, right?" He asks.

I stay silent and look any where, but his face. "Not exactly."

"Sophie, just tell me."

"Princeton University accepted my application," I say and look at him.

"You are going to go to New Jersey?"

I nod and cross my arms.

"And you knew I was going to a local college?"

I nod again. "It's not like we absolutely have to go to the same college, Ace."

"I'm not saying that. Maybe you would know that if you would actually listen to me."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"You never listen to me!"

"You are a liar!" I shout at him. "You are the only one I listen to! I was scared that I was going to hurt you when I had to tell you about college."

"Just like you said. It's a little too late for that."

My mouth drops open and he turns away.

"Maybe you'll find someone in New Jersey to listen to."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means when you leave, I'm not going to chase you any more."

I shake my head and laugh as a tear runs down my cheek. "And I thought you actually cared about me. Wow. You got me really good, Ace Ferris." I say and leave his house.

Hunter and Jaxon try to tell me to stop, but I don't stop. I don't even stop when Ace yells my name.

When I'm in my room, I lock the door to my balcony and move my dresser in front of it. With tears slowly leaving a wet trail down my cheeks, I turn my music on and start packing.

"Sophie, please give me another chance." Ace says as I lean against my car.

"You hurt me, Ace. You are going to have to gain my trust again. We can be friends." I say and cross my arms.

"Friends," he nods. "It was a mistake. A really HUMONGOUS mistake and I'm really sorry, Sophie."

"You know what?" I ask and stand up.

"What?"

"I really wish people would stop saying sorry." I get in my car and start driving in the direction of New Jersey.

I don't look back.

School will be starting soon for me so I don't know how much I will be able to update.
